West Brom vs Brentford
EFL Championship. Kick-off: 8pm, Monday 3rd December. Live on Sky Sports Football/Sky Sports Main Event
RELEGATED teams can often go into freefall after tumbling down from the Premier League, with Sunderland the classic case as they fell all the way into League One.
It looked like West Brom might suffer a similar fate when they began their first season back in the Championship by losing at home to Bolton then taking just a point at Nottingham Forest.
But Darren Moore has shown why he's rated as one of the most promising up-and-coming managers in England by steadying the ship and the Baggies are now bang in the hunt for a return to the top flight.
A recent slump that saw West Brom take just one point from four games has been followed by a run of three wins on the spin, including a 4-1 demolition of promotion rivals Leeds.
They should have more than enough in the tank to take care of a Brentford side that have lost six out of their last seven games so snap up the 10/11 on offer at 888 Sport for a West Brom win.
The Bees are 29/10 but I can't see them getting a win and the best their fans can probably hope for is a draw, which is priced 5/2 with 888 Sport.
Brentford have been shipping a lot of goals in their poor run, conceding four at Preston, three at QPR and three at home to Sheffield United in their last game.
So it might pay to back some Baggies goals with West Brom a tempting 12/5 with 888 Sport to net over 2.5 strikes. Over 3.5 goals for the game is also a decent shout at 6/4.
Youngster Harvey Barnes has been a stand-out for West Brom this season and looks a good anytime scorer option at 29/10 while he's 17/2 to net first.
Scotland winger Matt Phillips has also been a key man for Moore and is available at exactly the same odds as Barnes in both markets with 888 Sport.
Neal Maupay looks the best bet for a Brentford goal and the striker is 27/5 to break the deadlock and 33/20 for anytime scorer with 888 Sport.
Recommended bets
- West Brom to win 10/11 (888 Sport)
- Over 2.5 West Brom goals 12/5 (888 Sport)
- Harvey Barnes anytime scorer 29/10 (888 Sport)
Kevin good one there
Thanks Brandons. Let’s hope a few of the tips come up. Championship is always a notoriously tough league to predict. Anyone can beat anyone.
