FRIDAY night means my usual trip to one of my favourite leagues – French Ligue 2.
It’s been a bit of a mixed start to the season here in terms of my Friday night NAP, that’s been negated though by the fact we’ve already had three first-half goal specials landing and we are only in October. I have a strong goals double tonight.
Sochaux v Niort (7pm)
The hosts surprised everyone last week as they won 2-1 away at a rejuvenated Troyes. It was a great win for a side that has been struggling.
Niort have gone off the boil a bit in recent weeks but still possess more than enough quality to find the net here.
Two inconsistent sides but both capable of scoring and with the last eight matches between the two sides all seeing at least two goals I’m taking that to happen again tonight.
Grenobles v Troyes (7pm)
What a story it’s been for newly-promoted Grenobles – they sit in 5th place and are 15 points clear of bottom place.
They won’t be looking down – their focus will be on maintaining their great run of form and closing the gap on the top two sides who are only 6 points ahead of them.
They are scoring plenty of goals and welcome a Troyes side who have recovered after their horrible start to the season.
Both sides have more than enough quality to find the net and we should see at least two goals on this game
The bookies are fairly generous when it comes to over 1.5 goals in this league, enabling us to create an evens over 1.5 goals double. I’d be surprised if this didn’t land.
