CHARLES MOLSON (2.00) bounced back to form over course and distance last time out and should go close at decent odds in the opener at Goodwood.

The gelding has dropped to his lowest mark in three years and he was unfortunate to meet Love Dreams in peak form when chasing home the Mark Johnston-trained winner 17 days ago. Love Dreams went on to contest a Group 3 contest at Epsom and Charles Molson doesn’t meet a rival of that class today.

VOLPONE JELOIS (2.35) is thriving on his racing judged on the grey’s emphatic recent Chepstow success. A 4lb rise may not stop his progress under Megan Nicholls and he should be capable of mastering Panko, a fine third to Jabbaar at Chester.

MANCINI (3.45) paid the price for his wide-margin Lingfield success, with the handicapper lumping another 8lb on his back. That was enough to stop his progress at Haydock when readily outpaced in the race won by The Grand Visir. That was a deeper contest than today’s and Mancini may be capable of bouncing back.

LORD VETINARI (5.30) looks a bit of value in the 7f handicap. Andrew Balding’s colt never showed in a hot York handicap last time but his previous form on the all-weather puts him bang in the firing line.

He finished second to Mosalim at Chelmsford City, with subsequent dual winner Mont Kinabalu held in third, while on his next start at Lingfield Lord Vetinari ran fourth to smart duo Emblazoned and Georgian Manor.

John, in the past couple of years in Ireland, we have seen many notable trainers pack in training because of the cost. Two big names that come to mind are Colm Murphy and Sandra Hughes, Im sure there more. John, racing is business these days for those who are looking to make a profit.
In other words is it impossible for a man of straw to compete with the likes of the Sheiks and the Ricci’s?

    Belmont Stakes

    HOFBURG 9/2

Last 2 winners were out of Tapit and Hofburg is the only horse in the race by him.
Don’t think Justify will stay the 12f

Had a pleasant day at Haydock on Saturday, not too full, glorious weather and no sign of trouble for a change.
Only downer was the fact I won nowt, not a penny ??
Only win I had was a sidebet thanks to Alan and gazh with a forecast in bedrocks race at musslebrough..

Cribbs causeway who finished last of 8 at Haydock on Saturday is entered again today 3-30 Nottingham along with titi makfi who was withdrawn at Haydock to run in this.
Don’t know what to make of it.
If yesterday was a blip 6-1 cribbs is a decent price ??.

Might just have a dabble on belabour 5-15 Nottingham ew 16-1 for interest.

Well done you lucky Saturday winners ?

Only winners I had were thanks to Alan. Would of normally been at Haydock but was working. Had a few losers but luckily managed to back amazing red at Newmarket and threw a lucky31 of Alan’s on. Biggest disappointment was backing Crimson Rosette Ew @18/1 only for it to get beat by 1/2 length. Charlie Fallowes was bullish in his column in R&.FO.

Just put up tips and ignore anyone else.
I’m rarely on the racing thread but if I was I’d follow Thommo and other people I trusted to put up winners.
Since this thread started people have used multiple identities and I don’t know why they bother.
If they want to talk themselves let them get on with it – just scroll past.

    Horses for courses.

Your ante post tip for blue de la Vega is in fact run at royal Ascot and not York.
Hope you didn’t put York on your betting slip mate.

Just watched justify’s brilliant triple crown win.

If you get a chance watch the run from the start of the 2nd place gronkowski, he was practically failed off after 2 furlongs and would surely have won if he was closer to the pack at the start.
He ran at Newcastle as recently as March for Jeremy noseda.
