IT was all about goals in the Champions League last night and well done to all the winners.

Early and first-half goals in particular paid dividends but remember to post your tips before the games and more people can get on.

Tonight's all about the Europa League and goals will be the way to go again – I'll have a close look at the games in the morning and put up at least a treble.

On Wednesday my Super Single in the Daily Record was Shakhtar draw no bet against Man City but on the site I put Shakhtar in a 1pt fourfold which was a loser so that was a regret.

Thursday's games include some dead rubbers including Apollon Limasol at home to Everton. Both sides are out and Everton would prefer this game didn't exist as they prepare for Sunday's derby at Anfield.

New boss Sam Allardyce has stayed at home with most of his star men with Craig Shakespeare and Duncan Ferguson taking charge.

Apollon have only pride to play for and will want to give their fans something to cheer. I'm willing to risk them on as a Super Single against a young Toffees outfit.

I've added some trebles – one early both to score and a late one as well a Top Treble. Need to go out but will add reasoning if I get a chance later.

2pts Super Single

  • Apollon Limassol (6pm)
  • (6-5, bet365)

1pt Both to Score Treble (all 6.0)

  • Istanbul v Braga
  • Slavia Prague v Astana
  • Atalanta v Lyon
  • (43-10, Marathonbet)

1pt Both to Score Treble (all 8.05pm)

  • Real Sociedad v Zenit
  • Zulte v Lazio
  • Red Star Belgrade v Cologne
  • (9-2, bet365)

1pt Top Treble (all 8.05pm)

  • Marseille (8.05pm)
  • Zorya not to lose (8.05pm)
  • Ostersunds not to lose (8.05pm)
  • (9-2, bet365)

That is why any player or manager saying in interviews they are happy where they are should not be taking as they are staying. None are going to say yeah I’m not happy here and want out cause if a move doesn’t happen their position and the current club then becomes impossible and then probably end up with no job at all. They may well be happy but does not mean they wouldn’t be happier and another club. That’s what I always take from it.

Posting my thoughts for Saturday early on. Slightly disappointed Wolves didn’t win by more than one goal away at Blues but a wins a win and it’s a matter of time before we put a team to bed. On the back of the result at St Andrews which left Nuno very frustrated that we weren’t clinical enough I really feel Sunderland on Saturday could be the day where we run riot. A lot of my mates have also said the same.
I’ve just looked at Sunderland’s eleven in their 3-1 defeat last time out and it’s a team Wolves will love to play. Apart from Cattermole in midfield they all look like players who aren’t going to get into Wolves. A lot of them are getting on. The likes of Gibson and O’Shea are surely scared to death with the likes of Jota, Cavaleiro and Costa running at them all game. Prices are up and I’ll be on a mixture of Wolves over goals and handicap betting. Obviously higher stake on the shorter prices. My weekend betting bank has gone on this so no other bets the weekend. Wolves are finding it too easy at times which has been their biggest downfall. The fact Sunderland have been performing slightly better on the road and reading newspaper readings from Sunderland players saying they have nothing to fear makes me think they may even underestimate Wolves here. Wasn’t it Southampton that put 8 past them in the Premiership?

Wolves to score 2+ 1st half, 5/2, SkyBet (NB)

Wolves Over 2.5 TG 13/8, Betfair (NAP)
Wolves Over 3.5 TG 5/1, Betfair
Wolves Over 4.5 TG 14/1, Betfair
Wolves Over 5.5 TG 40/1, Betfair

    Wolves -2, 3/1, Betfair
    Wolves -3, 13/2, SkyBet
    Wolves -4, 16/1, SkyBet
    Wolves -5, 40/1, SkyBet
    Wolves -6, 125/1, SkyBet

People may accuse me of having gold tinted specs on here. I’ve just got a feeling for this weekend.

Wolves have raced into 2 goal leads by half time on several occasions, particularly at home. I certainly don’t think a 3 or 4-0 home win is out of the equation. They scored 5 past Bolton and should have scored 9. They lost 3-1 to an average Reading side last time out.

Anyone any news on Arsenal tonight, I know they have nothing to play for because they’ve already won the group, but do we really believe that Arsenal will want to get beaten on home turf in front of a half decent crowd? I still think half a team of Arsenal players + fringe players should brush aside Bate all day long…. Or will Wenger be fielding the under 9’s side?

England U23 Premier League Cup 19:00

    FCSB vs Lugano – over 2.5 MG’s

    U20 International 20:30
Brazil U20 Women vs Finland U20 Women – Brazil U20 Women HT result

    4-Fold 4.66/1 Bet365 **NB**

I’d recommend taking Slavia Prague -1.5 Asian handicap corners (1.825 Bet365) as a single bet based on what went down in the reverse fixture. The corner contest between Astana and Slavia Prague was won comfortably by Slavia Prague (5 to 10) in Kazakhstan. Tonight in a match where both sides are fighting for 2nd spot and qualification from group A, Slavia Prague should be able to repeat the feat on home soil with several corners to spare after the handicap is applied.

    Good luck all

    Afternoon gents,

Just the one pick yesterday for me – the Icelandic Youth game saw exactly 5 goals (4-1) so bet was a push and stake returned.

Onto Thursday and a trip to Paraguay sees me taking on the bookies…I reckon they’ve not got prices quite right here…

GENERAL DÍAZ VS. GUARANÍ (2100 KO):

4th plays 3rd here and it’s the away side who head into this with marginally better form.

Much of that form is made up of away successes and it’s well worth noting they have scored 2-4-2 team goals in successive matches on the road.

One final deciding factor is the fact Guarani’s last 5 away H2H’s (all within the last two years) have seen them notch 2-2-2-5 and 2 team goals!

    GUARANI OVER 1.5 TGS…10/11
    ????

    Best of luck.

bcos rangers are a far bigger club with an average home gate of 49,000 compared to 15,000 at club hes at just now.mcinnes was also a fan and player of rangers and knows the potential. his team hav jst been turnd ovr home and away by rangers a team supposedly a basket case (read above).we all know rangers have been through a hard time lately but the potential for revival is obvious to everyone with a world wide fan base a big money investor is nvr far away.obviously mcinnes isnt confident enough in his own ability or he woulda doubled his wages n been there in a shot.

How long would he get at RIFC. Crazy to join that club just now. An absolute shambles at boardroom all the way down. No cash and while Rodgers is at Celtic ,any manager there is in a no win situation when your up against Celtic. FACT. So who is going take the job then, murthy is a certainty till end of the season. Costs nothing!!!!!

He’s not the first Aberdeen manager who’s knocked back Rangers at a time when Aberdeen were in a better position them both off and on the field. Turned out to be the correct move by Fergie then and I suspect McInnes will also be proved correct.

Whatever anyone thinks that decision shocked everyone today.
He was all but in the blue room – I hope we hear exactly why he turned it down and why Rangers failed to persuade him.

McInnes knocked them back without even talking to them. Statement issued by Rangers tonight is an embarrassment. Basically saying they don’t think McInnes was up to the task.

Considering they wanted McInnes it’s a poor comment but I suppose they have to try to save face.

I wasn’t shocked Paul. Not in the slightest.
From top to bottom Rangers are a mess, and while they had a wee turn of fortune against Aberdeen recently, I would put a huge chunk of that down to McInnes taking his eye off the ball.
I expect these players to resume normal service anytime soon, as they haven’t suddenly become superstars.
McInnes is a young manager, with years of improvement and opportunities to come his way, so why would he take a job that is more likely to go tits up, rather than further his career?
I said this to my mates years ago, and I still say it regularly on my social media pages, Rangers will hit another financial disaster.

    Walcott ATGS 11/10
Yes I know the Gunners have nothing to play for …. but should get a few chances as Bate push for a result. Walcott scored a brace in the reverse tie and starts up front with Giroud / Welbeck – Arsenal scored 4 with a similar “weakened” line up in the last game.

    Goals galore…3-2 on 53′

GENERAL DÍAZ VS. GUARANÍ (2100 KO):

4th plays 3rd here and it’s the away side who head into this with marginally better form.

Much of that form is made up of away successes and it’s well worth noting they have scored 2-4-2 team goals in successive matches on the road.

One final deciding factor is the fact Guarani’s last 5 away H2H’s (all within the last two years) have seen them notch 2-2-2-5 and 2 team goals!

    GUARANI OVER 1.5 TGS…10/11

Good news for those who followed my tip of murty to be the rangers manager (10 games minimum) at 5/1, rangers have just announced he has the job until new year. 10 games is up on December 23rd.

    • Avatar of Jim Burnside
      jim burnside 7 years ago

murty has done wel under difficult circumstances.the fans like him the management clearly do to BUT most importantly the players respect him.he also knows the set up and what is expected from him at such a big club.i also agree he should b given a chance as there are no outstanding candidates out there at moment. sadly scotish football is in so much decline attracting top class managers and players are now in days gone by.any decent player coming through is now on the first plane out o our wee country fr the big bucks.
