CHAMPIONS LEAGUE football resumes tonight with two cracking ties. Punters will struggle to choose between Borussia Dortmund v Monaco and Juventus v Barcelona as the quarter-finals kick off.
I'll start by watching the game in Germany simply because it could be goal-laden between two attacking sides.
Coaches Thomas Tuchel and Leonardo Jardim reckon attack's the best form of defence – Man City 5, Monaco 3 was a brilliant game and this could be something similar.
Best bet could be over 3.5 goals at 23-20 with betfair while both teams to score pays 1-2 at bet365.
Monaco's 12 matches in the Champions League fixtures have totalled 39 goals and there have been 35 in Dortmund's eight.
Jardim has revived the fortunes of Radamel Falcao while Kylian Mpabbe is one of Europe's most exciting young talents. Falcao is 5-2 at Stan James to net and Mpabbe is 11-4 at Betfred.
Dortmund are missing Mario Gotze and Marco Reus and have doubts over several others so will hope Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on top form. He is first-scorer favourite at 3-1 with Betfred and 5-6 with Stan James to net.
Monaco are underdogs to qualify but having recovered from two down to KO City I fancy them at 6-4 with Skybet. Dortmund are too short at 8-15 with McBookie and are also odds on at Marathonbet to win tonight.
The French title chasers are as big as 21-5 at Unibet and I'd consider them to score 2+ at 13-8 with bet365.
Juventus have won 32 games in a row at home and to KO Barca will need to make it 33. Remember Barca were hammered 4-0 at PSG in the last round before somehow turning it around.
Italian coach Max Allegri should be confident and Juve are 13-8 at bet365 to take a lead to the Nou Camp. Barca, beaten 2-0 at Malaga at the weekend, are 19-10 with William Hill while a draw is 5-2 at McBookie.
Former Real Madrid star Gonzalo Higuain will fancy his chances of netting and is 17-4 at McBookie to break the deadock.
Bets to Consider
Dortmund-Monaco over 3.5 goals
Monaco to qualify
Falcao to score
Juventus to win
Higuain to score first
Juventus not to lose 12/25
Dortmund not to have a clean sheet 4/9
Juventus 3 – 1 Barcelona 16/1
Juventus vs Barcelona
Midfielder Sami Khedira is worth a look to get on the score sheet tonight. He’s way overpriced for first goalscorer at 20/1 with 888sport. Betfred has him as short as 8/1. Backing him anytime at 8/1 is also very good value when you compare it against Betfred’s 2/1.
Recommended Bets:
Khedira First Goalscorer @ 20/1
Khedira Anytime @ 8/1
Good luck everyone
