JORDAN won’t be around on Saturday and doesn’t fancy looking at the Scottish card so here’s an early-morning tip on the A League.
He says: The Newcastle Jets are out of play-off contention and will be hosting a Perth Glory side who have won 8 of their last 10 league games and are looking to seal their play-off fate.
The Glory beat the Jets 6-1 here in their first match up of the season and have won the last six between the two in the A League scoring two or more in each contest.
Andy Keogh scored for me last week and now has 7 goals in 6 consecutive A League matches. He looks a good price at 7-5 with bet365 to net again but I’m going to be on the vistors to score two goals in their 7th consecutive A League appearance v the Jets.
Australia A-league – 6.15am
Perth Glory Over 1.5 Team Goals
(4-5, bet365) – 5 points WIN*
*Keogh to score also wins
Switzerland U21s v England U21s (6pm)
Perth Glory gave me a good start to Saturday so without giving too much back I’m drawn to the England U21s in Switzerland. James Wilson, Chuba Akpom, Jordan Ibe, James Ward-Prowse, Lewis Baker, Demarai Gray, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Rolando Aarons.
That is a fair bunch of talent and despite Switzerland being a fairly decent side they haven’t kept a clean sheet on home soil since 2012. As much as I think England can score twice I’m more inclined to take their corner total.
Stats doesn’t necessarily back this up but when England control the game they do get the better of the corner match-up and I think they should do the same tonight. England to win the most corners pays 17-10 at Ladbrokes but I’m going to take the total with bet365 as it’s relatively low for how open the game could be.
The pitch will be played at Thun’s Stockhorn Arena which does look small and should suit England’s wing play as long as they can get used to the artificial turf.
England U21s Over 4.5 Corners
(10-11, bet365) – 2.2pts
Points Staked 110.91
Points Returned 136.11
