We are now into the third round of the singles draw at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, and so far, so good, in terms of the prospects of the outright favourites in both the men's and women's draws.
On day five of the championships, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will both be in action as the pair continue their path towards a mouthwatering semi-final showdown. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka will continue her quest for a maiden Wimbledon title.
In terms of British hopefuls, the one remaining home talent, Athur Fery, is not in action until tomorrow.
Below, we provide three Wimbledon day 5 betting tips.
Novak Djokovic 3-0 Arthur Rinderknech (5/6)
This is arguably the best draw that Djokovic could have asked for as he looks to rattle through the early rounds as quickly as possible. Arthur Rinderknech has an incredible serve, but doesn't offer an awful lot else, which means long points should be a rarity here.
Quick, short points mean the Serbian can conserve his energy and potentially win without breaking a sweat, provided he can find a couple of breaks of serve or win via tiebreaks.
As we know, Djokovic's record in tie breaks is supreme, which should come in handy here. Over the course of his career, he has a tiebreak win percentage of 65%, tied with Roger Federer for the all-time highest.
Hubert Hurkacz to beat Tommy Paul (13/8)
The match between Hubert Hurkacz and Tommy Paul has the potential to be a classic on day five at Wimbledon, with both men in excellent form.
Neither man has dropped a set at the Championships so far, but what leans us towards Hurkacz is his H2H record against Paul. Although both men have won three matches apiece against each other, two of Paul's three victories came on the clay.
Across their four matches on hard courts, Hurkacz has prevailed with his game more suited to a faster surface. On grass, logic tells us that he should hold an even greater advantage.
Iva Jovic to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova (1/2)
Iva Jovic is one of the most talented teenagers in tennis at present, and we are backing her to overcome the experienced but inconsistent Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Jovic has proven that she is more than capable of producing her best tennis on grass this summer. She reached the Queen's semi-finals and only lost out to the home favourite Emma Raducanu, who produced her best performance since winning the US Open in 2021.
She has breezed through her opening two rounds at Wimbledon, too, and although Alexandrova has done the same, her game is far more erratic than that of her younger opponent.
