The draw for the Champions League qualifiers hasn’t been kind on The New Saints and the Welsh side will need to upset the odds tonight against Hacken in Sweden.
TNS have been regulars in Euro qualifying over the last two decades but they’ve never got beyond the third round of games.
And the bookies reckon their latest shot at the Champions League will be short-lived, with Hacken 1/9 hot favourites at Bet365 for a win in tonight’s first leg.
The New Saints are 20/1 shots and it’s hard to disagree with those odds, given the Swedes are unbeaten in their last five games, winning four.
Hacken have scored two or more in each of those matches so I’m backing them in the handicap at -2, which pays 5/4 at Paddy Power.
Northern Irish side Larne also have a tough assignment at HJK Helsinki and they’re as big as 17/2 with Boylesports for a win.
Larne can take some heart from the fact HJK have been misfiring of late, scoring just six times in their last eight matches.
But the Finns are well up to speed while Larne’s only outing this summer has been a 2-0 cup loss to Crusaders.
So I like the look of the evens on offer at Bet365 for HJK Helsinki to be winning at half-time and full-time.
It’s semi-final time in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and co-hosts the USA are Bet365’s 3/5 hot favourites to see off Panama.
Even with home advantage, those odds look way to short for a second-string American side who needed penalties to see off Canada.
Panama are 5/1 shots with the same firm and that looks generous after they battered Qatar 4-0.
Ismael Diaz scored a hat-trick in that match and is tempting at 9/2 (Bet365) for another goal as the USA conceded against both Canada and Jamaica.
Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees Greg head to the Chinese top flight, and there is one fixture in particular that looks appealing for goals.

My fancies for the first match at Wimbledon day 10 are:
Keys – Sabalenka
Both players have styles perfect for grass. Keys has yet to lose a match this grass season so should be competitive here. Previous head to head on grass saw 8 breaks & 20 break points. The current line for total breaks of serve in this match up is set at 5.5. This could be achieved in 2 close sets and certainly has a great chance if it goes to 3 sets.
I believe the line for double faults is a little low. Both players are likely to feel pressure on 2nd serves giving the aggressive returns of each. Sabalenka could hit this line herself in a tight match and is averaging 4 doubles in her matches so far but didn’t hit any last match giving the quick match. In her 2 matches before that she hit 9 and 8 doubles. Keys is averaging 2.25 so far.
Sabalenka has been serving well so far this tournament and hit 7 aces in her 8 service games against Alexandrova. She is averaging 8.25 aces so far & 3 of those matches were not competitive. If this match is a tight 2 sets or 3 sets then there is every chance Sabalenka hits plenty of aces.

Sabalenka is rightly the favourite given how she has been playing so far but Keys has the game to test her. I would favour Sabalenka in 2 tight sets or 3 but it could be close. A lot will boil down to how serves the best on the day.
Desperately unlucky with 2 of these selections. Keys had a 4-2 40-0 lead in the 2nd set & if it went to 3 every chance the breaks over and double faults comes in easily. Way off on the aces. Keys seemed to be able to read Sabalenka’s serve well. Was always a long shot that one.

If this was on a hard court then I would expect a routine win for Medvedev. On grass it levels it up slightly. Although he has played better this week this is Medvedev’s least favourite service and Eubanks has been playing lights out tennis over the past 3 weeks. Medvedev should still be too good here but Eubanks has a chance as long as he serves well. If he can get it to the end of sets or tie breaks who knows what may happen. Rune surprised me beating Dimitrov but I think Alcaraz will have the better of him here. He strikes the ball so well & his movement is excellent. The -4.5 games line could hit even if it went to 4. Something Rune tends to do a lot is double fault. With the return game of Alcaraz he will be under pressure a lot on serve so this trend could well continue.
