Thursdays top tips

There's a feast of festive football today and it will be fascinating to see if Santa has brought a change in fortunes for Manchester City.

The Premier League champions were a team in freefall heading into Christmas, with Pep Guardiola's side winning just once in 12 games in all competitions.

That has left them lagging behind leaders Liverpool and City can ill afford another slip when they host Everton at lunchtime today.

But the Toffees have held title-chasing Arsenal and Chelsea to 0-0 draws in their last two games so the Toffees could be a tough nut to crack.

Manchester City vs Everton top betting tips

I'd imagine Sean Dyche will stick to the game plan that delivered draws in Everton's last two matches so the whole game will hinge on whether Manchester City can make an early breakthrough.

Everton lost 8-2 to Arsenal on the corner count and 5-2 to Chelsea so that's probably the best market for punters to explore today.

You have to go to over 8.5 City corners to reach 11/10 at BoyleSports so backing them at -5.5 in the corner handicap might be a better option at evens.

Phil Foden had plenty of attempts at goal in the loss at Aston Villa last time out and got a consolation goal at the death. He's 2/1 at BoyleSports to have over 1.5 efforts on target today and that looks decent value.

Liverpool vs Leicester City top betting tips

Liverpool's charge towards the Premier League title shows no sign of slowing and they should have too much firepower for struggling Leicester City tonight.

The Reds smashed six past Tottenham on their last outing and now face a Foxes side coming off the back of a 3-0 home loss to relegation rivals Wolves.

BoyleSports make Arne Slot's men 1/14 hot favourites so it's tricky finding value but backing a Liverpool win with under 4.5 goals pays 10/11.

That looks decent value as I'd imagine Leicester will set up to frustrate in the Anfield cauldron.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's passing could be key in opening up the Foxes defence and he's 2/1 for an assist at BoyleSports.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur top betting tips

Ange Postecoglou is starting to look doomed in the Tottenham Hotspur dugout and it's hard to see his side getting back on track away to in-form Nottingham Forest.

Injuries at the back have made Postecoglou's gung-ho style even more dangerous and Spurs look like conceding three or four goals every time they play.

Forest, on the other hand, are flying under Nuno Espirito Santo and look good value at 13/10 with BoyleSports to beat a team shorn of confidence.

Chris Wood has been leading the line superbly for Forest and I like the 23/20 on offer at BoyleSports for the striker to have a header on target.

Heart of Midlothian vs Hibernian top betting tips

There's a full Boxing Day card in the SPFL Premiership too and the pick of the games is the Edinburgh derby.

Heart of Midlothian have home advantage and are BoyleSports' 11/10 favourites, while the Hibees are 2/1 outsiders and the draw pays 23/10.

These games are often low on quality so I fancy the half-time stalemate at 11/10. You can usually rely on the ref dishing plenty of cards out in this fixture and over 55.5 bookings points looks decent value at 20/23.

The odds are better on individual players and I fancy the midfield battle to be pretty intense. Hearts scrapper Cammy Devlin is 6/4 to go into the book while opposite number Nectarios Triantis is 13/10 in the same market. A double on both going in the book pays close to 5/1.

Thursday's Super Singles

  • Phil Foden over 1.5 shots on target 2/1 BoyleSports
  • Liverpool win and under 4.5 goals 10/11 BoyleSports
  • Nottingham Forest to win 13/10 BoyleSports.

Deadly double

  • Cammy Devlin and Nectarios Triantis to be carded 475/100 BoyleSports
