SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder double ahead of Hearts' Scottish Premiership clash with Celtic on Sunday afternoon.
Hearts vs Celtic (Tuesday, 20:00)
Hearts will be looking to move eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership when they welcome Celtic to Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon.
Derek McInnes’ hosts are currently five points clear of the second-placed Hoops at the summit ahead of Sunday’s showdown in the capital.
Following last weekend’s impressive 3-0 win away at Kilmarnock, Hearts will be looking to solidify the notion that they are the real deal in this season’s title race by toppling the champions on Sunday.
As for Celtic, they bounced back from last week’s shock 2-0 loss at Dundee by staging a second-half comeback to defeat Sturm Graz 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Cameron Devlin to Commit 1+ Foul
For the first leg of what will be a player-based double, I’m going with Cammy Devlin to commit a minimum of one foul. As has been the case in recent campaigns, Devlin has again been committing fouls on a regular basis in this season’s Scottish Premiership.
In fact, the tough-tackling Hearts midfielder has averaged 2 fouls per game in this season’s Scottish top-flight, overstepping the mark once in all bar one of his eight appearances to date. Upon closer inspection, it can be seen that the all-action Australian has been guilty of multiple offences in four of those eight outings, including two of Hearts’ four home games to date.
Devlin’s habit for getting on the wrong side of the referee has seen him pick up two yellow cards in the Scottish Premiership this term, the most recent of which came against Kilmarnock last time out.
In a game of this magnitude, Devlin will be fired up as ever, making him a strong and obvious contender to commit at least one foul against Celtic on Sunday.
Callum McGregor to Commit 1+ Foul
Staying in the midfield battleground, I’m also going to include Callum McGregor to fall foul of the referee on at least one occasion on Sunday afternoon. There has been a notable increase in the amount of free-kicks that McGregor has been giving away this season, with the Celtic skipper averaging 1.50 fouls per 90 in the Scottish top-flight this term.
Moreover, McGregor has tackled his way into trouble on at least two occasions in four of his eight outings in this season’s Scottish Premiership, including two of his last three.
On top of all that, the 32-year-old has committed a combined total of five fouls across his three appearances for Celtic in this season’s Europa League, making one misdemeanour or more in each of the Bhoys’ opening three league phase matches.
With all that in mind, I’m more than happy to conclude the 11/10 double with a minimum of one foul from McGregor during Sunday's top of the table showdown at Tynecastle.
