SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Norway’s World Cup qualifier with Israel on Saturday evening.
Norway vs Israel (Saturday, 17:00)
Seeking to make it six wins on the spin in World Cup qualifying, Norway will welcome Israel to the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on Saturday evening.
Stale Solbakken’s side are on the verge of ending their 28-year-exile from the game's global stage after making a flawless start to their qualifying campaign.
As for third-placed Israel, they will have to lift themselves up off the canvas after falling to a last-gasp 5-4 loss against Italy last time out.
Norway Win
Norway have generated some serious momentum to put themselves within touching distance of confirming their spot at next year’s World Cup, and they should edge another step closer by overcoming Israel. Solbakken’s hosts will be in high spirits after racking up 11 goals in their last outing against Moldova, not to mention they have already swept aside Italy in the Norwegian capital during the current campaign.
While Israel will still harbour their own hopes of qualifying, they were soundly beaten 4-2 in the reverse fixture, and I suspect that Norway's superior class will tell once again on Saturday evening.
Erling Haaland To Score Anytime
If Norway are to put another three points on the board, then it also makes sense to back Erling Haaland to get on the scoresheet. The Scandinavian sharpshooter has netted an eye-watering 48 goals across his 45 appearances for his country, striking five times during the aforementioned 11-1 mauling of Moldova. What’s more, Haaland has scored in each of his last eight outings for the national team, one of which was against Israel earlier this year.
Given that the visitors have leaked a combined total of 11 goals across their five group games to date, Haaland looks well placed to help himself to his customary goal on Saturday evening.
Over 0.5 Israel Cards
For the final instalment of the Bet Builder, I’ll go with a minimum of one Israel card. Ran Ben-Shimon’s side have averaged 1.20 cars per game during the current qualifying campaign, tackling their way into trouble once when coming up against Norway back on matchday two.
In fact, four of Norway’s five opponents in Group I have been shown a minimum of one card, and that trend should continue here given that both teams still have plenty to play for in their respective quests to reach next summer’s World Cup.
