SlipsTips’ Tips: Back corner angle in Basel

SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of England and Spain’s Euro 2025 final showdown on Sunday evening.

Fighting it out for European glory, England and Spain will contest Sunday’s European Championships final at St. Jakob-Park.

Current European champions England have reached the decider in dramatic fashion, getting past Sweden on penalties before overcoming Italy in extra-time at the semi-final stage.

As for World Cup holders Spain, they also needed overtime to see off Germany to set up this showdown with England.

The bookmakers now expect Spain to go on and lift the trophy on Sunday, with Montse Tome’s team general 8/11 chances inside 90 minutes.

However, I suspect Sunday’s showpiece could be closer than the pre-match odds suggest, so I’m instead going to highlight an alternative angle of attack.

England have been priced up at 5/6 on Bet 365 to earn four or more corners during this contest and that looks well worthy of support.

Sarina Wiegman’s side have been the most prolific team in terms of corners earned at Euro 2205, averaging 6.4 flag-kicks per 90 en route to the semi-final stage.

Dig a little deeper and it can be seen that the Lionesses have comfortably covered the 4+ corner in line in each of their five outings to date.

In fact, England have racked up a minimum of six corners in all bar one of their five match-ups in Switzerland this summer so far.

While Spain will undoubtedly represent England’s toughest test thus far, the Spanish had to defend five corners in their group stage win over Italy, and then six against Germany last time out.

It's also worth noting that England managed to land six corners when hosting Spain in a Nations League game as recently as February.

So with all that in mind, the Lionesses look a great value option to deliver four or more corners on Sunday evening at 5/6 with Bet 365.
