A FEW weeks ago Simon Wright and GillsRob posted a strategy on betting on corners. There was a lot of interested in their system and a lot of questions about it.

Due to the demand I've decided to post full details – and if you still have any queries post them as a comment at the end of this article which has been written by the boys.

THE BACKGROUND

Firstly, it’s important to point out we are not professional gamblers following our tips won't guarantee a profit. We are regular punters who share a passion to try to build a system that delivers a high win ratio to bets within a strategy to maximise profits and reduce risks.

We have spent the last year trialling many systems and markets from over 2.5 goals to both teams to score to team goals. However, we were unable to forge a system that produced a win rate over 60%.

After a few months we realised one of the trials we were running was doing particularly well and decided to focus on that.

This was Asian Total Corners. Using corner, formation and some pitch data we were able to produce a decent system. We spent the next few months refining the system and changing the weightings we placed on certain stats to increase the number of winners we had to achieve our target of 70%.

In late 2014 we believed we had a system that worked and started to bet for real on these games. We found our picks were delivering 60%-70% winners consistently and started to show profit.

Our final refinement was in March when we reviewed our results to help narrow down the most successful lines we had used through bet365. Following the test we decided to drop six lines from both the over and under market and only run with the remaining six, which are Over 10.5, 11 and 11.5 and Under 9, 9.5 and 10.

I hope that clarifies what our tips are and why. However, and we feel this is really important. Our 70% success rate is calculated over a calendar month, therefore there are individual days and weeks which are loss making.

ORIGINAL STAKING PLAN

Aside from the betting lines the most important area of our strategy is the stake structure. We advise you to divide your bank by 12. This would then be your initial stake (which will allow you to make 12 bets).

The reason we suggest 12 is twofold. Firstly, as I said we do have losses. So if your first three bets are losers you need to have enough bank left to recover from this. The way we advise you count is simply starting from 0. If your first bet wins you move to +1 and if it loses then you move to -1.

Also you need to consider how many bets you place at once and have to have the bank to cover this. On a Saturday at 3pm with a full card we sometimes can have up to eight bets. The figure 12 comes from our maximum number of bets at any one time being 8 and also our maximum minus position is -3.

The risk you need to be aware of is if you are on -3 and you place 8 bets at the same time your bank effectively is more or less 0. So, back to your stake and I asked you to split your bank by 12, so assuming you have a bank of £120 your bet would be £10 per tip.

You are going to count the winners as +1 and the losers as -1 and keep doing that over and over and over again. With a win ratio of 70% you will slowly see it go up. Your aim is to get to about +12. Now I say this is your aim as if our tips were all evens, this would mean at +12 you bank is doubled. In reality the odds on our tips range from 1.7-2.0.

Therefore you actual aim is not +12 but just when you bank is doubled. In the example we are using, from an initial £120 bank and £10 stake, you are looking to reach £240. When this happens you can double your stake and your bank divided by 12 would be £20.

You can carry on doing this over and over or you can raise your stake by £10 every time you achieve the correct bank to do so, so for instance when you reach £360 move to £30 stake, when you reach £480 move to £40 stake and when you reach £600 move to £50 stake.

It is at this point when the strategy becomes most profitable and you then will want to plan when to begin to draw profits (after all that's the whole point) but always reverting back to the £600 baseline and repeating the process.

ALTERNATIVE STAKING PLAN

The other way you can stake, which is a lot easier to manage, is every Monday take your bank and divide it by 12 and that’s your stake for the week. This will deliver faster growth but has greater risk if our tips provide a losing week.

Anything more regular may make it difficult to track the strategy then possibly have an adverse effect on the overall performance.

CLOSING NOTES

We only post our selections on Mr Fixit's main forum. Due to busy work and family lives we share the workload equally. Look out for either of us, Simon Wright or GillsRob, usually about 10.30pm for the following day (and including any overnight). This ensures we all get the best odds and also allows plenty of time before the game.

Occasionally we may add one or two in the morning, usually before 10am. Additionally, we do endeavour to have at least one of us available on the site during the day, especially when bets are running.

Finally, there are days when nothing meets criteria, so it is a no bet day. We have no plans to make ad hoc bets in these situations.

I hope that provides the clarification you are all looking for. This system is not thrill betting. It is methodical and at times you will go a whole week and only end up at +1) which is just like winning one evens bet. It's not really for the gung-ho gambler out for fun.

However, if your motivation is purely financial and you have the patience and discipline we believe our picks and staking plan could suit you. For others who do not wish to deposit funds anymore this also could be a good system.

All the best,
Simon & Rob

I think once the new seasons start i will follow you guys. Sounds great and really appreciate the time and effyort from you guys. All the best and good luck

  6. Champy R 9 years ago

Most major leagues are in the close season now, isn’t that likely to have an impact with fewer and more obscure games to pick from.

  7. Simon wright 9 years ago

Champy R – not really, we find most of our picks are from less familiar leagues, mainly because it’s a more predicable style of football.

I agree with your rational in relation to goals and results, but remember this is more about how the 2 teams play, Pitch size and a little on the weather as oppose to anything else .

    Hope that helps

  8. GillsRob 9 years ago

Our data is pooled from a large amount of leagues worldwide, although we won’t have as many in peak season, provided criteria is met, we’ll have more than enough to keep interest.

  9. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @SANJAY

Cool, we will be here doing the same thing so whenever is good for you fella

  10. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @ JOHN SMITH

    thanks fella, same to you

  11. David King 9 years ago

Well done guys, will be following this system from now, hopefully make some money.

  12. Nick B 9 years ago

Love it !!!! Great breakdown and explanation will be following with interest.

  13. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @NICK B

Pleased you like it fella. Good luck to you

  14. Dave Wiseman 9 years ago

Simone and roberto – Thank you for sharing and I hope it works out considering Im following lol. Seriously though has helped me stick to a certain number of bets and I have enjoyed following the system.

Good luck and lets hope the cake keeps coming

  15. Keyser 9 years ago

Will this have its own thread? I am interested in doing it but don’t want to read through 200 comments a day to get the tips.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Keyser, I might create a new post now and again but I won’t be doing it every day. However, there are major changes being made to the site in September which will make it easier to follow.

  16. Redboy100 9 years ago

Thanks a lot boys! Excellent, have followed you for just over a week and showing just over £12 profit. Just a minnow in this betting lark but intrigued by this system, good luck to all of us, aware you didn’t have to share this with us but thank you for your hard work

  17. Michael Cutler 9 years ago

Looks really interesting and I’m going to give it a go. I saw your tip for tonight is just listed as ‘Under’ and ‘Over’- is this under or over 9.5? New to corner betting, so don’t know what the default is…..

  18. GillsRob 9 years ago

Keyser – not for us to decide but our tips are usually posted around 10.30pm or 9am next day

Also one other thing, monthly we review all lines to ensure we only follow the most successful. This may result in less tips but a better return rate

  19. GillsRob 9 years ago

Bad Jasper – fair points and no offence taken. However, our monthly line review ensures we follow the best ones.

Michael – all our tips should be labelled clearly

    • bad jasper 9 years ago

Hope it pays off for you, do you have a long term goal, like make a grand then quit etc.
      Otherwise what’s the point ?
Unfortunately I have no long term patience with gambling, everyone to their own I guess.
Come back to me on June 1st next year and tell me you are millionaires, and I will devour copious amounts of humble pie.
Best of luck to yer both

  20. GillsRob 9 years ago

Michael – misread your post sorry, our tip should include the line also as it’s not always the same (like goals)

  21. Annon 9 years ago

I like most people who bet have tried to create a system or formula or look for patterns etc, now i have been following this and credit to both simon and rob, but in the back of my mind is “how i would think” and surely most others if you have a system that creates 70% + win ratio, why would you share it? maybe its just the selfishness in me but it has the chance of being runied by the amount of ppl that get on it here, If 100’s of ppl start backing it then it will flag up with 365 faster than just 2, I dont know… made me think anyway. please dont take this as dig at you guys your work is brilliant and you done what many dream of finding a system.

  22. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @ BAD JASPER

No offence at all fella, everyone entitled to their opinion.

I guess all I could add is that Rob and I have done this for a while now and it’s taken out bank balance from XX to XX. Of course it’s very easy for me to say that , but all we can do is be clear and trasparent with everyone.

    Hope that helps fella

  23. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @KEYSER

Either Rob or I post out tips on the main Mr F page, we unfortunately can’t commit to a time.

If this changes I’m sure Mr F will inform

  24. Michael Cutler 9 years ago

Having looked at this properly now, the ‘Asian Total Corners’ market only gives one option (unlike alternative corners where you pick your own number) – is this always the case? So tonight I followed your tip (assuming it is for Asian Total Corners) and have a bet on under 9.5 at Munich and over 11 at America MG as that was the only option on the Asian Total Corners market. Have I got it right!!

  25. GillsRob 9 years ago

Michael – spot on. that’s the only market we play our tips on

  26. Keyser 9 years ago

Ok cheers, hopefully you get your own thread if it proves to be popular

  27. Champy R 9 years ago

Good luck to you, I’ll observe for a while and might jump aboard at some point.

  28. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @ANNON

Taken positively fella, I think the answer lies in what Mr F said a few days ago , compared to the 365 client base our community is about 0.2%. Sharing on here will not cause a reaction from them.

As to why? For us it’s about giving back to people after a long time of taking tips.

I guess it’s the similar to why raal posts or why a Mr F created this site.

    Hope that helps

  29. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @BAD JASPER

No humble pie to be eaten. Your opinion is valid and we appreciate you sharing it.

No goal set really, and without being crude if you can aver he staking plan for approx +8 per week (circ) aver. Over the last 6 months you can probably work out roughly where we are now.

The only change we really make is a monthly disnostics check to re calculate the Asian lines we go on

    Hope that helps

  30. GillsRob 9 years ago

Bad Jasper – thank you. We won’t be millionaires but hopefully successful on a consistent basis.

As for a goal, that part is individual but yes withdrawing profits is part of the plan as outlined in the article

  31. ches501 9 years ago

Thanks for taking the time to set out the background details and then for posting the daily picks. I like the idea of a scientific approach to betting. I’ve been on them for the past week and it’s the one thing that is currently showing a profit.

  32. tips!!! 9 years ago

I don’t believe this will produce long term profits,we will be here though to monitor results, won’t start following this system until after 2 months of profits illustrated here, which i highly doubt .

  33. Simon 9 years ago

Hi simon and gillsrob, been following the system for a week now, Looks a good system, hope you don’t mind me asking as never really done bets on corners, how are the games decided you bet on, and what sort of stats can you go on for corners ect, as to be honest I have never looked into it with corners, many thanks simon

  34. Jack9166 9 years ago

Is there a specific site that you are using to place these bets on, or do most sites give roughly the same prices on these markets?

  35. GillsRob 9 years ago

Tips – I understand your scepticism, but this is an intensively studied system which has proven to make consistent profit.
Like you say though, time will tell and we will be judged on it’s results

  36. Jack9166 9 years ago

Just re-read it and realised you said 365. Thanks and good luck. I will definitely be following.

  37. GillsRob 9 years ago

Simon – without going into detail, basically we have a program that calculates various data and then just a case of whether the line meets our criteria.

  38. davo 9 years ago

Do all bookies offer the Asian corner market?

  39. Simon wright 9 years ago

First bet for today was a winner giving us +1 for the week so far ( no bets yesterday)

Last one of the day kicks off at 11:30pm UK

  40. Buckiejag 9 years ago

Simon & Rob, Looks like you have done your homework,
    it is worth a try.
I see Simon has a picture Icon under his name any chance of Rob inputting a picture so it is easy to spot your messages, as some days there are many posts in Mr Fixit’s top tips.

  41. GillsRob 9 years ago

Buckiejag – fair enough request, ill sort one out in the next couple of days.

  42. Jonnyric 9 years ago

I scored from a corner once, though I must admit it was heavily wind assisted … Good luck lads, especially with the naysayers

  43. David Wiseman 9 years ago

For authenticity and a detailed break down Pete T is running a detailed daily breakdown.

I think it is brave putting up a system to be scrutinized and full respect goes to Simon and Rob for being open genuine honest guys.

I have been following for 2 weeks and this is my breakdown (not including today)

Since starting 8 wins up (remember it is not a race and in it for the long game)

Current level 4 £44 bets until Sunday and then I will divide my bank by 12 and go again from Monday, Level 5 will be achieved If bank reaches 60 points by Next Sunday (I started on level 3 £30 bets)

Current bank 54.1 points (divided by 12 = £44 bets for this week)
Overall still minus 45.9 but this was down to bets prior to this system.

It does depend what your looking for from betting but it ticks my boxes and I am enjoying the experience.

  44. David Wiseman 9 years ago

Rob – Get a picture of a cake lol

  45. Ben 9 years ago

Hi guys I’m a little confused about the + and – 1 bit. New to all this . Thanks

  48. Jordan 9 years ago

Rob not sure on your team or nationality (I imagine it’s English) but there is no better corner taker (technique wise) in the world than this man, and I’ll be extremely upset if you choose differently as your gravatar hahaha

    http://www.soccer-universe.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/corner_kick2.jpg

  49. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @BEN

Your first bet you place you are at the start point , so have neither won or lost a bet so you are at 0. If you first bet wins you move to +1 , or if it loses you move to -1.

Everytime you win add +1 to your running total , everything you lose detract -1 from your total.

When you reach +12 you should be almost double your bank in which case you now need to double your stake

Hope that all makes sense fella

    • Ben 9 years ago

Oh ok I get it. Many thanks for getting back so quickly

  65. Alves 9 years ago

Stick tae SA, can’t go far wrong wi the Argies, Brazil and Chile leagues

  66. paul 9 years ago

America mg is sa. 2 corners. No hope of overs. Id never hv picked that but ye kbow more than me.

ACTUALLY another scrappy nil nil here. Might even struggle for the 8 corners I did

  67. Daniel 9 years ago

    Simon and Rob:

I would kindly advise You to not only write Under/Over but also the Current line when you make the bet( 8.0,9.0,10.0) etc..

I was on the German game last night and placed it just Before kickoff. I understand that other followers were treated by a Win in the game. My bet was a looser, so apparently the line was not the same as when you advised it earler Before kick-off.

Markets change all the time, so I Think it’s important to mention not only Under/Over but also the current line when you make the suggestion.

  68. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @ DANIEL

great idea, will do going forward

  69. Simon wright 9 years ago

    Corner pick for today is

    Greece Super League
    16:15
    Panathinaikos
    UNDER 9.5

    • BRIAN 9 years ago

      Hello Simon

Can we get the picks up on the top of the page, like Mr F and Ace Ventura.

Shocking having to continuously scroll down looking for posts.
At the end of the day they are you pick, either you follow them all correctly or you dont.
They are not open for debate so no call to have them in the middle of posts.

Would make life a lot easier for all.

  70. Buckiejag 9 years ago

    Simon,
For the Wednesdays corner count on the Panathinaikos game, I have had a look at the Bet365 site, I can’t see any betting on the corner count.
Do I need to open accounts with other companies.
Your help will be much appreciated.

  71. Dom 9 years ago

Just to clarify. The corner tips will be on the mr f comments? Also just the one corner tip today?

  72. Buckiejag 9 years ago

Simon, Sorry , I have just sussed it out, Just seen the icon at the top of the page with Asain Lines,
I was initally looking at the main menu for the corners.
Best o luck with yer system

  73. GillsRob 9 years ago

Buckiejag – no worries and glad you’re giving it a go

As you all see I now have a picture – the great Andy Thomson scoring Gills playoff winner against Wigan

  74. Ben 9 years ago

May seem a silly question but how do I know it’s you guys putting the tips on in the threads. Thanks

  75. Buckiejag 9 years ago

    @Gillsrob

Aye Rob, Gillingham brings back memories. When I was in the navy in the early seventies based at Chatham, I used to regular go and watch the Gills at Priestfield. The player i used to admire at the time was Brian Yeo, he would have given the Scot Andy Thomson a run for his money at scoring goals.
I look out for the Gills results when they are playing.

  76. Ben 9 years ago

Sorry Simon on mobile and didn’t see names on the left. Thanks

  77. GillsRob 9 years ago

@Buckiejag – ah Brian Yeo, he owned my local corner shop after he finished playing

@Brian – this is not a thread like the others hence no headline tips, this is purely an article conveying or strategy. We post our tips here and on the Mr F main forum

  78. magictips 9 years ago

Rob and Simon, I think what you are doing is fantastic and have the utmost respect for you both, more so, because you are both kind enough, like a few others on here, in trying to help other people to win money. All I can say is THANK YOU, BOTH.

    Hope that’s ok

  82. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @DOM

Yes – we will post here and on the main site.

We have just added another corner to 2 tips today

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Simon, when comments go over 100 I will repost so will start again with no comments and make it easier for people to follow.

  83. Buckiejag 9 years ago

@Simon Can you advise on the follwing, as I never have bet on the Asain style betting.

Todays bet advised is for under 9 corners, is this an insurance bet.
If the total corners in the game is 9, is bet void and
do you get your stake refunded.

    Asain Total Corners
    Over 9 @ 1.850
    Under 9 @ 1.950

    Corners 2-Way
    Over 9.5 @ evens
    Under 9.5 @ 8/11

  84. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @MR F

Cool, thank you for letting me know

  85. GillsRob 9 years ago

buckiejag – all our bets Total Asian Corners. When the number is whole I.e. 9 as it is today, then yes stake back if that’s the final total. We need less than 9 to win.

Void is why we chose the Asian markets, added protection

  86. davo 9 years ago

Hi Guys great ideal for a betting system is it only bet365 that offer this market?

  87. GillsRob 9 years ago

Davo – various bookies do but currently 365 is the only one we’ve needed

Good first half in Russia- 2 corners (7 in hand)

  88. Neil H 9 years ago

Thanks for all the effort with the guys, I am certainly going to give it a go and looks like being a great start to it over the last few days.

One thing I was wondering is whether or not you ever cash out your bets or just let them run ?

  89. GillsRob 9 years ago

Neil – cash out ia definitely an option and is needed on occasion. Cover is usually expensive for corners. I dont tend to cash out for less than 95% of the maximum or if it looks precarious in the final stages.

Thankfully haven’t had to do much and only been wrong once. you’ll see after a while patterns for corners and get a feeling for when to stick or twist

Appreciate you guys sharing your tips. I got on them a couple of weeks ago and am really enjoying the system.

    Thanks.

  91. GillsRob 9 years ago

Sem – thanks and I’m glad you are enjoying the system. Hope yoy were on both today

  92. Sem 9 years ago

I was a bit late on the Russian game but ended up putting a point on in play @ under 7. Was getting nervy at 5 corners so cashed out for a fair profit. Good job I did :)

I think next time I’m late and the game is in play I’ll just skip the bet.

Great result in the Greek game.

    Cheers again.

  93. GillsRob 9 years ago

any profit is good Sem. Glad you didn’t miss the dire Greek game

Thanks for the feedback fella and glad it’s working for you . We try to get them up as early as we can , but remember we do add some in the mornings also after our 2nd check

  95. Simon wright 9 years ago
