A FEW weeks ago Simon Wright and GillsRob posted a strategy on betting on corners. There was a lot of interested in their system and a lot of questions about it.

Due to the demand I posted full details – and if you still have any queries post them as a comment at the end of this article which has been written by the boys. This a repost of the original article which I said I'd do after the first one reached 100 comments – and watch for their tips on the main Mr Fixit thread.

THE BACKGROUND

Firstly, it’s important to point out we are not professional gamblers following our tips won't guarantee a profit. We are regular punters who share a passion to try to build a system that delivers a high win ratio to bets within a strategy to maximise profits and reduce risks.

We have spent the last year trialling many systems and markets from over 2.5 goals to both teams to score to team goals. However, we were unable to forge a system that produced a win rate over 60%.

After a few months we realised one of the trials we were running was doing particularly well and decided to focus on that.

This was Asian Total Corners. Using corner, formation and some pitch data we were able to produce a decent system. We spent the next few months refining the system and changing the weightings we placed on certain stats to increase the number of winners we had to achieve our target of 70%.

In late 2014 we believed we had a system that worked and started to bet for real on these games. We found our picks were delivering 60%-70% winners consistently and started to show profit.

Our final refinement was in March when we reviewed our results to help narrow down the most successful lines we had used through bet365. Following the test we decided to drop six lines from both the over and under market and only run with the remaining six, which are Over 10.5, 11 and 11.5 and Under 9, 9.5 and 10.

I hope that clarifies what our tips are and why. However, and we feel this is really important. Our 70% success rate is calculated over a calendar month, therefore there are individual days and weeks which are loss making.

ORIGINAL STAKING PLAN

Aside from the betting lines the most important area of our strategy is the stake structure. We advise you to divide your bank by 12. This would then be your initial stake (which will allow you to make 12 bets).

The reason we suggest 12 is twofold. Firstly, as I said we do have losses. So if your first three bets are losers you need to have enough bank left to recover from this. The way we advise you count is simply starting from 0. If your first bet wins you move to +1 and if it loses then you move to -1.

Also you need to consider how many bets you place at once and have to have the bank to cover this. On a Saturday at 3pm with a full card we sometimes can have up to eight bets. The figure 12 comes from our maximum number of bets at any one time being 8 and also our maximum minus position is -3.

The risk you need to be aware of is if you are on -3 and you place 8 bets at the same time your bank effectively is more or less 0. So, back to your stake and I asked you to split your bank by 12, so assuming you have a bank of £120 your bet would be £10 per tip.

You are going to count the winners as +1 and the losers as -1 and keep doing that over and over and over again. With a win ratio of 70% you will slowly see it go up. Your aim is to get to about +12. Now I say this is your aim as if our tips were all evens, this would mean at +12 you bank is doubled. In reality the odds on our tips range from 1.7-2.0.

Therefore you actual aim is not +12 but just when you bank is doubled. In the example we are using, from an initial £120 bank and £10 stake, you are looking to reach £240. When this happens you can double your stake and your bank divided by 12 would be £20.

You can carry on doing this over and over or you can raise your stake by £10 every time you achieve the correct bank to do so, so for instance when you reach £360 move to £30 stake, when you reach £480 move to £40 stake and when you reach £600 move to £50 stake.

It is at this point when the strategy becomes most profitable and you then will want to plan when to begin to draw profits (after all that's the whole point) but always reverting back to the £600 baseline and repeating the process.

ALTERNATIVE STAKING PLAN

The other way you can stake, which is a lot easier to manage, is every Monday take your bank and divide it by 12 and that’s your stake for the week. This will deliver faster growth but has greater risk if our tips provide a losing week.

Anything more regular may make it difficult to track the strategy then possibly have an adverse effect on the overall performance.

CLOSING NOTES

We only post our selections on Mr Fixit's main forum. Due to busy work and family lives we share the workload equally. Look out for either of us, Simon Wright or GillsRob, usually about 10.30pm for the following day (and including any overnight). This ensures we all get the best odds and also allows plenty of time before the game.

Occasionally we may add one or two in the morning, usually before 10am. Additionally, we do endeavour to have at least one of us available on the site during the day, especially when bets are running.

Finally, there are days when nothing meets criteria, so it is a no bet day. We have no plans to make ad hoc bets in these situations.

I hope that provides the clarification you are all looking for. This system is not thrill betting. It is methodical and at times you will go a whole week and only end up at +1) which is just like winning one evens bet. It's not really for the gung-ho gambler out for fun.

However, if your motivation is purely financial and you have the patience and discipline we believe our picks and staking plan could suit you. For others who do not wish to deposit funds anymore this also could be a good system.

All the best,
Simon & Rob

    While this is a terrific idea im a compulsive gambler and if I put 120 in my bank ill only end up betting it on stupid stuff.

    THis keeps happening me. I bet on a basketball match yesterday when a corner bet lost yesterday and though it won I cudnt even tell you who was playing.

    Just seemed like a good idea. Finally lost my freebet from bet365 at weekend as did the fa cup final n got everything wrong!!

  5. Rookie 9 years ago

    Is bet365 the only bookie that offers this market?

  6. Wato 9 years ago

    Quick question guys on the days when your system might throw up quite a few games do so some have higher ratings or are they all just the same. I’m just thinking for the likes of me that don’t want to go over a daily allowance there might be too many to follow all on a certain days would there be a way to pick a couple? Thanks again for the winners today

  7. Phill 9 years ago

    Simon is it team corners or match corners?

  8. Liam 9 years ago

    What sites are you using for these?

  9. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @UNCLEBING

    good man, hope you start the system with a winner

  10. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @COLEY

    thanks for following fella !

  11. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @PAUL

    Glad you like it , but sounds like your may struggle with the discipline required, try, if possible to pick up with DAVE WISEMAN. (On here) Dave won’t mind me saying he was gradually losing money week after week with no real strategy or staking plan , just following tips on here, trying to do them all in fear of missing out on a winning tip. since following Rob and I, Dave has not had a losing week.

    I must warn you tho, this is very very boring and slow betting.

    Hope you manage to get it under control fella,

  12. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @ROOKIE

    No, a lot of different companies offer Asian Corners but we only use 365, so you’d have to use them if you want to follow all the tips I’d imagine.

  13. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @WATO

    great question, and no there isn’t any picks stronger than others.

    Lots of people seem to prefer the Unders to overs (me included) so that could be a way of picking some over others, howevers we actually have a higher win% on Overs so that may not be the best idea

    I guess you could just go on the early games to your allowance and if they win – re invest and if they lose – you’re done for the today.

    Hope that helps

  14. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @PHILL

    Match corners

    On 365 look for – TOTAL ASIAN CORNERS

    Bet will be either Over or Under

    Odds will be around 1.8 – 2.0

    Hope that helps

    Cheers fellas any tips to make money from bookmakers is greatly appreciated. I’ll just be dipping in and out for now following it, but when the majority of European leagues start up again in August think me and my mate are gonna set up an account and follow your methods a lot more closely. Thanks again guys

  17. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @SEAN567

    Thanks Sean – sounds like a good plan fella

  18. hampy 9 years ago

    Fair play lads. I prefer my goal bets and have decent profit each week but i also have 2 pots one for main single bets and one for inplays and accas. Im willing to split that latter pot in half and follow this. I can see how much work you put in it

  19. Marco 9 years ago

    Simon

    Under 9.5 is 1.9 on Asian £10 returns £19
    Under 10 is 5/6 so £10 returns £18.33

    I may go with the 5/6 a little less risk for the sake of 67p

    Thoughts???

    @PAUL

    I am the same as you mate bet stupid money I haven’t got on stupid things I have no idea about. I’m trying this system to try and help my problem.

    Cheers

  20. ross 9 years ago

    @marco is that not the same bet. If 9 are awarded both win but if 10 are then both lose…im guessing the under 10 isn’t on Asian?

  21. Marco 9 years ago

    Ross, of course how stupid of me.

    Why the difference in odds then for the same bet technically?

  22. ross 9 years ago

    Not sure Marco…doesn’t make much sense to me either. I see your a fellow toffee…good man

  23. GillsRob 9 years ago

    Asian markets don’t always offer the void option (whole numbers) so when it’s a .5 it acts as a standard bet.

  24. Marco 9 years ago

    Cheers GillsRob

    Yes Ross, good man! Hopefully we have a good season as the last one was woeful mate.

  25. Wato 9 years ago

    Simon cheers for the reply mate could try that on the China game at lunch time

  26. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @Wato

    Good luck if you do fella. We are +2 for the week so after China it’ll be either +3 or +1

    Keep an eye out incase we add anymore this morning

  27. rustybets 9 years ago

    I’m in guys sounds good! I’m going to b365 purely for this,and hopefully can pay for my new monthly car repayments! cheers guys!!

  28. Marco 9 years ago

    Simon

    Thoughts on MLS for overs in corners I usually go with BTTS as there goal crazy but last nights 3 games had 15,12and 15 I wondered if you had done any research in this league??

    Thanks

  29. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @RUSTYBETS

    Good to hear – it’s a slow builder remember but once your bank reaches a certain level a +1 is good value for addtional income

  30. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @MARCO

    Yes we get the MLS data in the pack but at the moment the system isn’t picking them. Could be down to a number of reasons, perhaps inconsistency but maybe pitch sizes or maybe climate at present.

    Hope that helps fella

  31. Marco 9 years ago

    Sure does Simon.

    Keep up the good work lads.

  32. GillsRob 9 years ago

    not long to kick off on China (12.35) lets hope for third on the bounce putting us into good shape for a probable busy weekend.

    No further bets for today yet, of course if that changes we’ll let you know. Im not at work today so I can do an additional check later

  33. murmagic 9 years ago

    Simon/Gillsrob,

    Sounds good i’ll give it a bash.
    Will this corner betting have its own thread like JohnB’s?

  34. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @MURMAGIC

    Thanks and well done, let’s hope you start on a positive result today.

    We post here and on the main site. Mr F will add a new forum for this ever 100 comments so will be easy to find I’m sure

  35. winging 9 years ago

    @Simon

    Love the sound of this strategy, I will be following from today onwards. Lets hope for the best

  36. Fifa13 9 years ago

    Hi Simon and Rob, Great work on the tipping, I have seen you mention pitch size and weather conditions, would you mind elaborating on this is it smaller pitch = more corners, Larger = less. In regards to weather do you go off the theory that a rubbish pitch with bad weather the ball is more likley to get held up compared to a smooth sweet surface where the ball runs more? Also do you take into account teams play styles as in teams that use out and out wingers that would be going to the byline compared to inside forwards that would be more inclined to cut in? Thanks

  37. Fifa13 9 years ago

    As im watching the chinese game now and the pitch looks pretty beat up in places

  38. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @WINGING

    hope you manage to join on a winning day. We are +3 for the week so are due a losing day.

    Let’s hope it’s not today

  39. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @FIFA13

    Pretty much fella, there are about 25 different considerations in the programme, but all different weightings for them.

    Narrow and long pitch a certain weighting

    Wide and short pitch another

    Same applies to formations and typical expected weather – ie Rain = Corners

    But this is not inclusive of course

    Historical corners, WDW for the game and league positions also form part of the overall calculation.

    We are 5 in China, so it’s 50/50 at the moment , would like a quote second half so hopefully the home team can get an early goal to go 3-1 and kill the game.

  40. Ben 9 years ago

    @Paul

    Hi Paul. As Simon said I is a long and slow process and I used to think its no good as the money wasn’t growing quickly. Let me say it’s extremely rare to find a system that will make huge profits quickly. This might not work for everyone but for me, keeping a weekly profit/loss sheet keeps me from going mad. I use expense IQ app to log all bets and profit. Weirdly it’s just as exciting seeing a small profit building as it is betting. This may be useless to you but worth a shot if it stops you going silly.

  41. OriaZ 9 years ago

    I’m gutted as Belgian bookie markets don’t offer the corner bets on all games …
    Seems like a successful strategy, good luck Simon, Rob and everyone else.

  42. Ches501 9 years ago

    7 corners in 60 mins. Going to be a tight one…..anyone looking to cash out if we get to the stage where stakes back is offered??

  43. GillsRob 9 years ago

    cash out will be a consideration in this one, might even get decent offer if no more than 8 around 85min. But yes this is an occasion where judgement is tested

  44. GillsRob 9 years ago

    as I finished it’s now 9 – cross fingers guys

  45. Simon wright 9 years ago

    Looks like today was not to be so we go -1 for the day and +1 for the week.

    That’s all for today but we should be posting tomorrow’s about 10:30 this evening.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

      Simon, -1 on a long-term project is nothing to worry about.

  46. Ches501 9 years ago

    Thanks guys. We go again tomorrow….

  47. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @MR F

    100%, happy to be at +1 for the week and we certainly can’t have + everyday for sure.

    Thank you for your continued support

  48. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @CHES501

    We do indeed – thanks fella

  49. T8888 9 years ago

    It’s a long term betting system in which I feel totally comfortable about taking the losses .
    In the grand scheme of things taking a minus ain’t a problem .

  50. GillsRob 9 years ago

    T888 – exactly. it’s only been five games this month which is a small sample. The weekend usually produces good volume. Once people are on the higher levels +1, +2 and +3 will be big wins

  51. Tunnell 9 years ago

    Im very intrigued by your system Simon&Rob, I’ve been following for the past couple of days when it was flagged up by MrF’s Twitter post : corner kings.

    Thank you for sharing with us all, I can’t imagine all the hard work that’s gone into it,

    I’ll look forward to your future posts with great interest,

    Cheers lads

  52. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @TUNNELL

    Thanks fella , nice post.

    Happy to share it

  53. Champy R 9 years ago

    My fault today I’m afraid, I jumped on board and jinxed it, expect small wins break evens and mostly losses from now on.

  54. Gbjefr 9 years ago

    Hi guys been following and I’m happy to continue to follow , I appreciate anybody’s attempts to beat a bookie ! But the small downside to your system is that any day where you for eg you have 2 wins and 2 losses these are effectively loss days with the prices generally being around 1.8-1.95 and would also like to point out the longer it takes to get to + 12 the further away we all are to doubling our pots . And we will probably need closer to +18-20 to see our pots doubled , and frankly giving the edge back to the bookies ! I would appreciate to hear ur thoughts
    Many thanks Gbjefr

  55. Gbjefr 9 years ago

    Maybe a small suggestion would be after 5 losing bets automatically a extra -1 should be applied which I think may even running totals up! I dunno but a suggestion.

  57. GillsRob 9 years ago

    Gbjefr – there a few guys posting exact wins and losses so it can be tracked. your quite right where it is likely to take more than 12, however +18 is way off.

    In all likelihood it will take maybe +13/14 at most due to average odds around 1.9. Thank you for your contribution, concerns are always welcome and we are happy to discuss them.

  58. Simon wright 9 years ago

    The +- is a nice little way to track progress and also allows us to keep track of our win % which needs to remain true not only for transparency bit for us to monitor how each line performs.

    The +- shouldn’t be used to make staking decisions, that needs to be the cash in your bank.

    If you are using the double your stake system then you can only double your stake when your bank doubles, what’s critical is having a liability of 12.

    Whether it takes +12 or +50 it makes no difference, it’s the £ which needs to guide your decisions here, however the positive part is we fully believe you will get there, but please remember this is slow boring betting, it could take ages to get there.

    Thank you for the input – appriciated

  59. Hank Marvin 9 years ago

    Like the look of this guys, jumped on yesterday. As I bet mainly on major leagues in Europe I’m going to be strict and use these as my only bets over the summer. Good luck guys

  60. Gbjefr 9 years ago

    Gillsrob/Simon,
    To make it easy for you to understand Pete is doin the running totals !
    Showing a +5 this far ,as he’s staking plan is £10 a point you would think he has a £50 profit but he doesn’t he’s showing £27.50 , so just using he’s model of thous stats he will be looking at trying to achieve + 20 or more to double he’s pot to £240 , so + 18 as stated in earlie post is relatively conservative , could be closer to +25
    Good luck with what ur doing I just believe needs a tweak

  61. Gbjefr 9 years ago

    Sorry there was 5 bets Sunday the Napoli one was added later.

  62. Unclebing 9 years ago

    Having tried many systems over the years , some a little successful some not , this one excites me , shame not a lot of football about at the moment , but rule number 1 , PATIENCE is the key.

  63. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @UNCLEBING

    100% fella

    Basically we try to get to the end of the end at 0 or a small +, we are in track to do that at +1 for the week so far and 1 bet today

    So by the end of the day we will be at either +2 or 0

    It’s the weekend really the level of games increase a we pick up the most +s to end the week + overall

    Sometimes +1 sometimes +10

    What’s important is that it’s a + which means another week of not losing any money and growing our bank, no matter how little or large.

  64. trevor 9 years ago

    Hiya Simon and Rob

    Good Luck with your system I will be watching with anticipation …a quick question

    A lot of people on site have mentioned backing to level stakes have you any figures if this is a feasable option

    Personnally I follow certain tipsters/systems and always back level stakes and analyse at the end of the month and increas to my next level if showing a profit.

    I know you back level stakes and increas when you have doubled the bank I was just wondering if you had any figure if backing level stakes for a four week period would give a profit.

    Cheers

    Trev,..

  65. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @TREV

    Not really – personally I re stake each week on a Monday by bank / 12. Regarding aiming for a certain £ in a month, I guess it depends on your stake of that makes sense. Ie a stake of £880 , even a +1 week which is a low week would still net you about £750 profit per week

    • trevor 9 years ago

      Simon

      thanks for that , makes a lot of sense and if 60-70% are winers a good profit is more or less
      a certainty

      Trev,…

  67. ross 9 years ago

    Tips a winner…puts me on +7 overall. Cheers guys!

  68. Neil H 9 years ago

    Good work guys no stress with that one, easily came in !!

  69. Simon wright 9 years ago

    Thanks all – we do have a winner indeed and for those that have followed from Monday its +2 , for those that followed from an earlier date – it’ll be a higher +.

    For the new people following, we now move to the weekend games which we always have a higher number of bets.

    This can be stressful as you will need to place about 7-8 bets at once, which will make your bank look scary.

    Weekends are where we normally get the higher +s and it’s great to go into the weekend at +2.

    So, it’s a time for a bit of bravery and faith but please remember there are no promises we can give.

    Please think about how you would feel if all the tips over the weekend lose and you lose your bank.

    Just a health warning guys.

    Right, for those I haven’t scared off, Saturday tips will be up about 10:30pm tonight, and we normally add a couple more in the morning also.

  70. FF 9 years ago

    Simon and Rob could you ask admin. to give you a daily thread? and could you put your tips in the headline area so that they are easier to find. Keep up the good work chaps.

  71. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @FF

    Mr F normally adds a new one every 100 comments and I know he is also making changes in September to make it easier to follow certain people.

    Until then just keep looking out for GILLSROB or I on the main page (about 10:30pm and 10:30am) for our tips if you wish to follow.

    Glad it’s working for you bud, not everyone cup of tea of course.

    Get ready for a bigger weekend

  79. TheBoss 9 years ago

    Personally I’m loving this system it’s a God send just as I lost my bank last week I noticed this system was being talked about and thought sod it my last chance at betting.

    It’s controlled my betting on the spur of the moment kind of bets and just waiting on losing all that in my bank and depositing again and again. (haven’t deposited for over a week now)

    Currently I’m at 166.50 started at 120.

    I find my self less likely to bet on all the tips on here as I feel I’m missing out on a good winner and even if I win I lose it on another tip.

    I’ve actually adapted well to this system I didn’t think I would!

    All that said I may be using my bank to do the in play offer on 365 for 2moro champs leauge game.

    But that’s pretty much no risk and a bit of a bank booster if my in-play wins.

    Anyway thanks for getting me on to this Simon,Rob and Pete for explaining it to me :)

    Also Dave ;)

    The Boss has pretty much put into words my exact feelings on this system.

    I’ve said it before but once again thanks Simon and Rob for the efforts you’re going to here.

    Yea think so Michael I keep coming on to check but I’m pretty sure that’s all for today.

    • BRIAN 9 years ago

      Yeah be nice if they were at the top of the page each day instead of wasting my time scrolling and checking incase ive missed anything.
      Quite a few threads on the go here now so become quite time consuming.

  90. AndyC 9 years ago

    Brian – So they input all this data, narrow down markets, post huge information about it all and then update us as and when it comes in, for free – but it’s too much effort for you to scroll down a page??

    Lol. I’m not having a go chap but I do get fed up with people complaining about free services!
    A tip to make navigating the man page easier – open it up, click on show all comments then do “find in page” and tap in the name of the tipster you’re after…. Mrf, raaljaca, Jordan, Simon w, gillsrob etc. Then it shows you where they appear.
    Helps wade through the guff (like this post..)

    Shame only 1 today after 10 last sat…
    Ah well, cheers guys looks like you’ve got quite a decent following now.

    • BRIAN 9 years ago

      You think i only read 1 thread on 1 forum on the whole internet Andy !

  91. BRIAN 9 years ago

    You are obviously having a go !! Chap !

    They go to the hassle and hard work of doing all this great work and research, are they not deserved enough to have a proper thread !
    The picks are not up for debate so why do they need to be in the comments section.

    Raaljica was the same when he started his goals thread – wheres his picks now? At the top of the page.

    The guys are doing a great job here with the corners so why sell them short !!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

      BRIAN, we’ve already said there will be big site changes around about September which will make it easier to follow anyone you want to follow.

    • BRIAN 9 years ago

      Thanks Mr F.

    Averaging a corner every 10 mins. Gonna be close!

  93. GillsRob 9 years ago

    sorry for being so quiet today guys, been at work.

    disappointing result with the corners on Denmark. However, we are working dilligently to see any refinements can be made to our filters to produce a few more picks but within our criteria

  94. Simon wright 9 years ago

    Lovely sunny day out in Victoria park today meant no posts (no wifi)

    Only the 1 tip today for corners and it was a loser, putting us on +1 as we enter the last day of the week. A + day tomorrow will mean profit for the week for everyone who choose to follow this week and 3 weeks profit in a row for those that started to follow from the start.

    As I have said many times but worth saying again, this system is very slow, quite boring but is producing profit weekly.

    Picks for tomorrow will be up about 10:30pm tonight as normal with a few more added in the mor I f if we have any.

    Over the last few months we’ve been looking at HT Asian unders and may introduce some of them going forward as its proved successful, the only fear we have had is having 2 bets on the same game, but for instance in Korea this morning we had both for unders (dry run) for HT and FT and both came in, so would have produced +4 had we bet.

    The reason we’ve decided to add them is that even though you could have a double loser you also can have a double winner , if 60-70% picks win then the double winners should be more frequent than the losers , and also offer a void when the HT wins and the FT loses.

    Hope that all makes sense .

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

      Simon, I was also in Victoria Park but it wasn’t sunny. Are we talking about the same Victoria Park?

  95. Simon wright 9 years ago

    EXAMPLE

    Tonight in Brazil is SANTOS

    we like this for a under HT (5 Asian line) and under FT (11) so the bet would be 2 bets.

    This is near the end of the dry run, so not a tip and just part of a non bet system we run in the background.

    The stats and formulas are slightly different to normal so we are not 100% yet on it, but about 95% so not far away, if we like it, we will introduce which will increase the number of tips we can give.

    However, if not we won’t

    Moreover. The motto has to be quality over quantity

  96. Tunnell 9 years ago

    Unlucky today lads. But onwards and upwards I’m still here intrigued as will others be.

    The half time Asian line sounds interesting too lads. Makes sense and if your happy with it then throw it in the mix.

    If people don’t expect there to be losses there only fooling themselves,

    Never apologise for being quiet rob, work and family come first. Your system, those who wish to follow you will wait patiently.

  97. Simon wright 9 years ago

    @TUNNELL

    Thanks fella.

    At the end of the day we get about 65-70% winners which means 30/35% losers.

    Most important to those that follow is each week since inception we have provided profit.

    Remember, our aim is profit over a calendar month so the weekly + are a bonus for us all
