KILMARNOCK have pulled off something of a coup persuading Derek McInnes to drop down to the Championship for his next dugout adventure.

But it’s no gimme that the former Aberdeen boss will lead them back to the top flight with Killie sitting fourth as he takes over.

Tommy Wright, another cup-winning manager with Premiership pedigree, couldn’t get a tune out of this Killie squad so McInnes faces a tough challenge.

His reign begins with a trip to Queen of the South and McBookie make his side 17/20 favourites.

That’s probably worth a bet, especially for accas, given Queens lost to Hamilton at home last time out, busting my coupon.

But I’m more drawn to the 13/10 on offer at the same firm for Oli Shaw to score as McInnes could get the best out of Killie’s top scorer.

Arbroath continue to top the table after last week’s 0-0 stalemate with Caley Thistle that brought up three of my tips.

They now face struggling Ayr at Somerset Park and I like BTTS at evens with Bet365 as that bet has landed in both meetings so far this season.

Those games ended in stalemates and the draw today might be worth a flutter at 12/5 (McBookie).

The game of the day in the Championship sees second host third as Raith Rovers head to Inverness.

John McGlynn’s side have drawn a blank in their last three games while Caley Thistle have only netted once in their last two.

That suggests a tight game but under 2.5 strikes pays only 4/6 at best with BoyleSports. So I’m going for the half-time draw instead at 21/20 (Unibet).

Hamilton seem to have turned a corner with just one defeat in their last five league games.

They host Partick today and Josh Mullin appeals at 7/2 (McBookie) for a goal after netting three times in his last two Accies matches.

There’s a huge game at the bottom as Morton face Dunfermline at Cappielow.

Ton have conceded in their last 11 games so I fancy over 2.5 goals at 23/20 (Betfair) even though the Pars have drawn blanks in their last two outings.

In League One, Airdrie should be too strong for struggling East Fife but the Diamonds are just 8/13 at McBookie for the win.

BTTS has failed to land in the last five meetings so betting against that today looks the shout at 23/20 with BetVictor.

League Two leaders Kelty crashed to a shock 5-1 loss at Annan last time out but should get back on track away to Stirling. Red-hot Nathan Austin is 11/10 at McBookie to score again.

  • Nathan Austin anytime scorer (11/10, McBookie)
