LAST week the game I was most confident about was East Fife v Ayr. After four 3-2 scorelines this one finished 3-3 – so I'm sticking with Ayr this weekend.
I've got no reason to desert the Somerset Park side as they entertain Brechin in Division Two. Ayr's last four matches have featured 15 goals and Brechin's previous five have produced 21 – so hopefully this isn't another Werder Bremen v Hannover!
Next look at Stenhousemuir v Arbroath which has finished 2-2 in the last two meetings this season. Could this be three in a row?
Clyde v Elgin in Div Three has seen both teams score in five of the last six meetings and Clyde's last five have brought up the market. Elgin crashed 4-3 to East Stirling last week and their last three have been score draws.
So now to the William Hill Scottish Cup. I like the look of St Mirren v St Johnstone, two SPL sides who notched fine midweek wins.
Their two league meetings this season saw both score as have the Buddies' last six with a total of 26 goals.
There are some decent, on-form strikers on show with St Mirren boasting Steven Thompson – six goals in seven games – and Esmael Goncalves who has netted in his first two outings since signing last weekend.
Complete the line with Killie v Inverness, again two SPL rivals who seem to produce goals when they meet. All six top-flight meetings have seen both score, including two this season, and a 6-3 and 4-3 last term.
Both teams to score
Ayr v Brechin
Stenhousemuir v Arbroath
Clyde v Elgin
St Mirren v St Johnstone
Kilmarnock v Inverness
