Luke Donald couldn't have asked for much more on day one of the Ryder Cup, with his European team winning both sessions on Friday.
In the morning foursomes, Europe ran out as 3-1 victors, while in the afternoon fourballs, they triumped 2.5 – 1.5. It leaves them with a 5.5 – 2.5 lead at this stage of the tournament, and an identical day on Saturday would leave them needing just three points on Sunday to retain the cup.
Team USA are going to need to come out all guns blazing, and the pressure is specifically on Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, who have contributed zero points between them so far.
Day one was also a good day for our tips, with all three of our predictions coming in. Can we replicate that on day two?

DeChambeau/Young to beat Aberg/Fitzpatrick – 1/1
Bryson DeChambeau actually played relatively well yesterday despite coming away with zero points, with Justin Thomas letting him down frequently in the morning foursomes.
On Saturday, he has a new partner in Cameron Young, who was one of the USA's standout performers on Friday, picking up a much-needed point for his country in the afternoon fourballs alongside Justin Thomas, who played much better in the afternoon himself.
The duo of Aberg and Fitzpatrick will not be easy to beat, but the combination of DeChambeau's power and Young's touch around the greens could work excellently in this format, provided they alternate holes appropriately, something Team USA got horribly wrong on Friday.
Scheffler/Henley to beat Hovland/Macintyre – 5/6
Scottie Scheffler needs to find something on Saturday morning, with the world number one currently struggling to find anything close to his best form.
Interestingly, the man he is often compared to, Tiger Woods, also often struggled to find his best form in the Ryder Cup, but Scheffler will be desperate to prove he can play as part of a team on Saturday.
He plays with Russell Henley again on Saturday morning against the only European duo to lose in this format on Friday morning. The law of averages suggests that Scheffler will play much better on Saturday, and that should be enough to carry Henley through against an out-of-form Viktor Hovland and Bob Macintyre.

McIlroy/Fleetwood to beat Morikawa/English – 8/15
Keegan Bradley potentially made a huge blunder by pairing Collin Morikawa and Harris English, as the underlying data suggested that they were the 132nd out of 132 possible optimal foursome pairings for Team USA.
However, an even bigger blunder is to run it back on Saturday morning, leaving the USA with the worst possible pairing for two of the eight foursomes matches.
To compound matters, they are up against Team Europe's best foursomes combo – Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood. The latter, who is now 5-0 in foursomes matches for his career, was utterly sensational on day one, and this could be a rout.
At 8/15 with some top golf betting sites, this is phenomenal value. I'd be tempted to add a handicap too, as this one really shouldn't be close.
