Rangers vs Motherwell

, KO: 15:00 Feb 27, 2022, Ibrox
Motherwell

RANGERS are back to domestic action on Sunday after bundling Borussia Dortmund out of the Europa League and they need to get their minds back on the job.

Ibrox was buzzing in midweek as Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men completed a sensational result against the tournament favourites.

But in the league, they now trail Celtic by three points with a far worst goal difference and they cannot afford to be dominating matches and not taking full points. They have failed to beat Aberdeen, Ross County and Dundee United away from home and results like that cost titles.

However, they have been in excellent form at Fortress Ibrox in the league – they have won their last seven games at home without conceding a goal and eight in a row since drawing with the Dons in Govan in October.

They face a Motherwell side who can be gritty and determined, but are on something of a league slump, having not won a match in the Premiership since Boxing Day,

Well have also only won two away games this season in the league and have kept one clean sheet in their last ten matches. It all points to a tough ask for the Lanarkshire side.

How the bookies view it

Rangers are red-hot favourites at 1/5 and will be on most accas punters coupons you would think. Graham Alexander's side are a massive 18/1 with Coral and the draw is 11/2 with bet365.

Recent head to heads

Rangers hammered Motherwell 6-1 at Fir Park in October, but that was after Well had produced a shock by grabbing a point in a 1-1 draw the previous month as can be seen below.

Motherwell's last win at Ibrox came in the Premiership play-offs in 2015.

Players to watch

Ryan Kent has been in top form recently for Rangers and he must be due some goals having only netted twice this season surprisingly. He's 3/1 with Paddy Power to rectify that on Sunday.

Kevin van Veen is on the hunt for his tenth goal of the season for Motherwell and he is 15/4 with bet365 to net.

Anything else catch the eye?

Rangers are very impressive at home and should be on a massive high against a Motherwell side who conceded six in their last meeting. And although it's a little on the short side at 4/5, Rangers to win to nil with Boylesports looks very solid given Rangers' recent home record.

With the hosts needing to make up ground on the goal difference front, they could really go for it here. It's worth a stab at 7/2 with Paddy Power on Rangers scoring four goals or more.

Finally, Kevin van Veen loves a scrap and has been booked a remarkable 13 times this season in all competitions. He's 13/10 with bet365 to add to that tally.
