Ligue 1 returns after the international break with PSG welcoming Monaco to the Parc des Princes for a Friday night fixture. The Parisians are beginning to show glimpses of their dominance in France and should be too strong for Monaco, who have found things difficult on their travels.
It has not been as smooth a campaign as PSG would like this season as they have found things difficult at times so far. However, they appeared to pick up their form in the weeks preceding the international break, claiming five straight Ligue 1 wins.
PSG claimed a 3-0 victory over Reims in their previous League 1 fixture with Kylian Mbappe netting a hat-trick. That result was enough to take the Parisians top of the standings as they are now one point above Nice in second.
Things have also been great for PSG at the Parc des Princes as they have won their last three home matches. Manager Luis Enrique appears to have found a way to tighten up at the back as they have kept clean sheets in all three wins.
Monaco also have reasons to be pleased with their campaign so far as they can also be considered title contenders this season. They are currently third on the standings, just three points behind the reigning champions.
The Monegasques were also in good form prior to the international break as they suffered just one defeat in their last six Ligue 1 matches. Adi Hutter’s men have claimed four wins in that run, although they were held 0-0 at Le Havre in their previous fixture.
The result at Le Havre highlights a troubling record for Monaco on their travels, as they have claimed just one win in their last five away matches. They also appear to be struggling for goals, failing to score in the last two fixtures in that run.

PSG are considered overwhelming favourites among the bookies with a home win priced at 2/5 by BetVictor. A victory for Monaco is valued at 11/2 by Coral while Unibet is offering odds of 4/1 for a draw.

PSG have a 24-23 edge with 17 draws from.64 previous matches with Monaco. However, Monaco were unbeaten against PSG last season, playing out a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes before earning a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture.
Players to watch
Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick in PSG’s win over Reims last time out to take his tally to 13 Ligue 1 goals for the season. The striker could be worth keeping an eye on to score anytime on Friday at 8/11 with Paddy Power.
PSG have looked tighter at the back, earning shutouts in their last three home matches. Milan Skriniar and Marquinhos appear to be forming a solid Central defensive partnership and can ensure the Parisians relearn another clean sheet at 9/5 with Coral.
