Midtjylland will take on OB on Sunday, 20 July, as the Danish Superliga gets back underway.
The hosts are expected to be among the teams challenging for the title this year, and after missing out by just one point last time around, they will be desperate for success.
OB, on the other hand, are expected to be involved in the relegation battle in Denmark. This is their first season back in the top flight following promotion last season.
How the bookies view it: The visitors go in as big underdogs
Midtjylland come into the match as the firm favourite with the bookies, which isn't a surprise given these two teams were playing in different divisions last season. BoyleSports have priced a win for the hosts at 2/5, while a victory for OB has been priced at 4/1. The draw, which would be seen as a bad result for Midtjylland, has been priced at 10/3.
Head to head: Advantage Midtjylland
Midtjylland's status as pre-match favourites is backed up by their recent record in this fixture. Hedens Drenge have won four of their last five matches against OB, including each of the last four. The last time OB managed to beat Midtjylland was at this stadium, though, in October 2022 when they ran out as 2-1 winners.
Players to watch: New strikers to debut
Both of these teams will line up with new forwards this season, which is always exciting for the fans.
Friday Etim has been Midtjylland's most significant summer signing so far, and although more players are expected to come in before the deadline, there is some pressure on him to deliver the goods from the off.
The 23-year-old has signed from Mafra in the second tier in Portuguese football, where he netted seven goals in 30 league appearances last season. That isn't the kind of return that is going to make him a hero at Midtjylland, but their scouts have clearly seen something in him that they like.
For OB, the most anticipated will be around Jann-Fiete Arp. The former Bayern Munich man is looking to re-ignite his career away from Germany, and signed for the club this summer on a free transfer. If all goes well, it could be the coup of the season.
Predicted line-ups
There is only one injury to report across both teams and that is for OB's Cho Gue-Sung who is expected to be out for quite some time with a knee injury. As mentioned above, we can expect a few debuts on Sunday night, after both clubs sold key strikers in the summer.
Midtjylland: Lossl – Mbabu, Lee, Bech Sorensen, Jensen, Bravo, Sorensen, Silva, Franculino, Buksa, Gogorza
OB: Sander – Burgy, Gomez, Askou – Owusu, Falk, Ejdum, Sorensen – Arp, Got, Ganaus
Anything else catch the eye?
Although Midtjylland have been dominant in this fixture in recent times, they haven't managed to keep a clean sheet against OB in any of their last eight attempts. The newly promoted side are expected to have a go on Sunday so both teams to score at a price of 6/10 with BoyleSports could be a good bet.
