In what promises to be a decisive fixture in Group D, Los Angeles take on Esperance Tunis at the Club World Cup on Friday night.
Both teams will come into this crunch clash on the back of suffering defeats on matchday one.
One of three MLS teams competing at the revamped Club World Cup, LAFC were outclassed in their opening match of the tournament, falling to a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea on Monday
On paper, that was LAFC's toughest Group D , so Steve Cherundolo's side will have earmarked their remaining two assignments as must win matches.
As for Esperance Tunis, they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Flamengo in their maiden match of the competition, in a game that saw the Betting Desk deliver a full house of winners.
That means the Tunisian giants must find a way to win at least one of their final two group games against either LAFC or PSG.
How the bookies view it: No Hollywood ending for Esperance Tunis
Los Angeles FC are short-priced 4/5 (Boylesports) favourites to pick up all three points in Florida on Friday night. The Black and Gold were enjoying a 10-game unbeaten run before losing to Chelsea and their superior quality is likely to shine through on this occasion.
Esperance Tunis are as big as 10/3 on Boylesports to take top honours, while a share of the Camping World Stadium is also considered unlikely at 12/5 with the same firm.
Head to head: History book blank
LAFC and Esperance Tunis will cross paths for the first time ever on Friday night. The MLS outfit are making their maiden appearance at the Club World Cup this year, while the Red and Yellow featured three times in the previous format of this competition.
Players to watch: Denis to do damage?
The focal point and biggest attacking threat of the LAFC team is undoubtedly Denis Bouanga. With 11 goals across his 22 appearances in all competitions this season, the Gabon international looks a great value option at 7/5 (Boylesports) in the anytime goalscorer market.
Khalil Guenichi is usually Esperance Tunis’ designated hatchet-man, with the 22-year-old picking up a yellow card against Flamengo last time out. Having also racked up seven yellows and one red during the domestic campaign, Guenichi is one to keep an eye out for once the bookmakers release player card markets.
Predicted line-ups
Odin Holm was back on the LAFC bench on matchday one following a spell on the sidelines, however Cengiz Under is still in the treatment room.
Esperance Tunis have no injury or suspension concerns heading into their matchday two showdown with LAFC, so manager Maher Kanzari could stick with the same starting XI on Friday night.
Los Angeles FC: Lloris; Palencia, Long, Segura, Hollingshead; Tillman, Igor, Delgado; Ordaz, Ebobisse, Bouanga
Esperance Tunis: Said; Ali, Meriah, Tougai, Hmida; Guenichi, Ogbelu; Sasse, Jbeli, Belaili; Rodrigues
Anything else catch the eye?
Los Angeles FC look well worthy of support to score two or more goals on Friday night at even-money (1/1) on Boylesports.
The Black and Gold have made the net bulge twice or more in 11 of their last 12 matches across all competitions, only failing to do so against European powerhouses Chelsea.
Up against inferior opposition on matchday two, LAFC look well placed to strike twice against an Esperance Tunis team that conceded multiple goals against Flamengo last time out.
