Juventus vs Monza

, KO: 17:00 May 25, 2024, Juventus Stadium

IT has been another disappointing Serie A campaign for Juventus and they head into the final game with Monza sitting in fourth place, a whopping 25 points behind champions Inter Milan.

Manager Max Allegri did manage to deliver the Coppa Italia but promptly found himself sacked for sullying the club's image with his antics in that clash with Atalanta.

Former defender Paolo Montero stepped in as caretaker manager and looked to be heading for a baptism of ire as his side fell 3-0 down to Bologna on Monday night.

But Juventus managed to rouse themselves in a thrilling second half as they roared back to claim a 3-3 draw, bringing up two bets for our man Gabriel in the process.

Bologna's Thiago Motta is on the verge of being named as Juve's next boss so Montero is likely to take charge for the final time against Monza.

It has been a decent campaign for Raffaele Palladino's men as they sit in mid-table, well clear of the drop zone. But they have gone off the boil in recent weeks and head to Turin on the back of a dismal run that has seen them go eight games without a win.

How the bookies view it: Monza rank outsiders

With Monza in such poor form it's no great surprise to see them as Bet365's 8/1 outsiders. Juventus are just 3/10 for the win and even the draw is pretty hefty at 9/2.

Recent head to head: First blood to the minnows

These sides only met for the first time last season and Monza caused a surprise by beating Juventus in both Serie A meetings. But the Turin giants beat them in the Coppa Italia last year and also won 2-1 in Monza earlier this season on league duty.

Players to watch: Chiesa out to finish on a high note

Federico Chiesa scored that goal that sparked Juventus' incredible comeback on Monday and will be seeking more goals here. That ended an eight game drought and he's 6/4 for anytime scorer.

Midfielder Matteo Pessina has chipped in with six goals for Monza this season and two of those strikes came from the spot. He's 15/2 for anytime scorer and a tempting 2/1 just to get an effort on target.

Probable teams

Midfielder Andrea Cambiaso is suspended for Juventus while stopper Mattia De Sciglio remains out injured. Papu Gomez and Patrick Ciurria remain sidelined for Monza who have doubts over Daniel Maldini and Andrea Carboni.

Juventus: Szczesny, Bremer, Gatti, Danilo, Locatelli, Iling-Junior, Miretti, Rabiot, Alcaraz, Chiesa, Vlahovic.

Monza: Sorrentino, Izzo, Birindelli, Mari, Kyriakopoulos, Gagliardini, Colpani, Pessina, Bondo, Mota, Djuric.

Anything else catch the eye?

Juventus should take a bit of momentum from that midweek comeback into this game and I'd expect them to make a fast start. Backing a goal before 26 minutes pays 5/6 and over 1.5 first half strikes is 11/8.

With Monza in such poor form it could also pay to back Juventus to be winning at half-time and full-time, with that bet paying 10/11.

Games between these sides have produced plenty of corners, with three of their four meetings seeing double figures. That makes betting on over nine corners a good option here at 5/6 even though there's nothing to play for.

This match between Juventus and Monza will be played on May 25, 2024 and kick off at 17:00. Check below for our tipsters best Juventus vs Monza prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
