Ipswich Town vs Burnley

, KO: 15:00 Jan 28, 2023, Portman Road
Burnley

Burnley will be looking to carry their impressive form into the FA Cup as they travel to Ipswich Town in the fourth round.
Ipswich have already dumped out one Championship team in this year’s FA Cup as they claimed a 4-1 victory over Rotherham United in the previous round. They had four different scorers with Conor Chaplin and Freddie Ladapo among the goals.

That result has been the only high point in recent weeks for Ipswich Town, who have claimed just one win in their last five matches. They head into Saturday’s clash off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Oxford United in League One.

The good news for Ipswich Town is that their form at Portman Road has remained solid as they are unbeaten in their last six matches in front of their fans. However, Kieran McKenna’s men were held to a 1-1 draw by Plymouth Argyle in their previous home fixture.

Burnley also did some giant killing of their own in the previous round as they claimed a 4-2 victory over Premier League side Bournemouth. They were the dominant side throughout the encounter with Anass Zaroury and Benson Manuel each getting a brace.

Sitting top of the Championship, Burnley are looking almost unstoppable at the moment. Vincent Kompany’s men have won nine of their last 10 matches across all competitions and travel to Ipswich Town off the back of a 2-1 victory over West Brom in a Championship fixture last Friday.

The result at Bournemouth also highlights a solid record for Burnley on their travels as they have won four of their last five away matches across all competitions. However, defending remains a problem having kept just two clean sheets in their last eight matches on the road.

How the bookies view it

Burnley have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 23/18 by SBK to claim the win. A victory for Ipswich Town is valued at 12/5 by bet365, who are also offering odds of 5/2 for a draw.

Head to head

Ipswich Town have an 18-13 advantage with 11 draws from 42 previous matches against Burnley. The last meeting between both sides was a Championship fixture in 2016 which ended 0-0.

Players to watch

Conor Chaplin has been one of the standout players for Ipswich Town this season, scoring 10 League One goals so far. The forward has also found the net 3 times in the last two FA Cup matches and is priced at 10/3 by bet365 to maintain his scoring run.

Burnley have spread their goals across the team this season but Anass Zaroury is often involved in most of their attacking play. The forward netted a brace in the previous round at Bournemouth and is priced at 3/1 by bet365 to get on the score sheet on Saturday.

Anything else catch the eye?

Ipswich Town and Burnley enjoy an open style of play and could be set to produce goals on Saturday. Both teams saw over 3.5 goals in their respective third round fixtures and a repeat could be on the cards at 11/4 with Unibet.

Over 2.5 goals can also be considered at 11/10 with bet365, who are also offering odds of 10/11 on both teams to score. Burnley have opened the scoring in their last three away matches and could be tipped to grab the first goal on Sunday ay 4/5 with Paddy Power.
