Hibernian vs Dundee United

, KO: 17:45 , Easter Road
Dundee United

Hibs entertain Dundee United on Saturday night, with both sides encouraged by encouraging starts to the campaign.

The hosts are a point ahead of United in third place and United are in fourth and that's where both sides finished in the table last season too.

And both have plenty of reasons for optimism this term too.

Hibs have continued really from their barnstorming second half to the season although they will be frustrated drawing their last two league games against Kilmarnock and St Mirren.

They were desperately unlucky not to progress in the Europa Conference League having defeated Legia Warsaw in 90 minutes in Poland to level the tie on aggregate, only to concede in extra time and go out.

United will be boosted after an impressive win at Dens Park in the Dundee derby. They eased to a 2-0 success, but were far better than their street neighbours in a surprisingly comfortable win.

The Terrors were also unlucky in Europe – they twice drew with Rapid Vienna home and away and went out on penalties.

Jim Goodwin has certainly added steel to his new-look side – he brought in an incredible 14 players in the last window.

How the bookies view it? Hibs odds-on good things

Hibs are 6/10 solid favourites here with Dundee United are 15/4 and the draw is 14/5. All prices are with Boylesports.

Recent head to heads: Hibs on a roll

Hibs won the last two meetings of the teams last season home and away, which followed a draw and a United victory in the first meeting last term.

The hosts are unbeaten in the last four meetings at Easter Road.

Players to watch: Bowie the Starman

Kieran Bowie hit the headlines with a sensational volley against Partizan Belgrade that went viral and the Scotland international is in fine form this season. He is 5/4 to score anytime with Paddy Power.

Zac Sapsford has quickly become a fans' favourite with United fans this season after scoring three goals, including one in the Dundee derby. The Australian striker is 11/4 with bet365 to score anytime.

Predicted line-ups:

Hibs could hand a debut to new signing Daniel Barlaser after his deadline day move from Middlesbrough. Club captain Joe Newell is unlikely to recover from injury in time.

United are still without the injured Ryan Strain, Isaac Pappoe, Kristijan Trapanovski, Ross Graham and Max Watters.

Hibernian: Smith, Bushiri, Hanley, Iredale, C Cadden, McGrath, Levitt, N Cadden, Mulligan, Boyle, Klidje.

Dundee United: Kucherenko, Esselink, Iovu, Keresztes, Sevelj, Camara, Sapsford, Ferry, Amar Fatah, Dolcek, Stephenson.

Anything else catch the eye?

There should be plenty of entertainment down Leith way and this could be a tasty encounter. Both sides are full of confidence and both have goals in them.

Hibs are too short to back just to win, but they are screaming out to be backed at 23/10 with both teams to score with Boylesports. United have scored in every game this season in all competitions.

David Gray's side have twice won over ten corners on their own in their three league games so far and you can expect more of the same on Saturday.

Back over 6.5 corners at 5/6 with Boylesports.
