Fulham vs Ipswich Town

, KO: 14:00 Jan 5, 2025, Craven Cottage
Ipswich Town

Fulham will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they face Ipswich Town at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

After bagging a dramatic 2-1 win away at London rivals Chelsea on Boxing Day, Marco Silva’s men were held to a 2-2 draw by Bournemouth last time out.

While the Cottagers will have been deflated to concede a late equaliser against the Cherries, they have now managed to avoid defeat in each of their last seven Premier League matches.

Seeking to return to get back up and running this weekend, Fulham will look to file all three points at the expense of Ipswich.

The Tractor Boys will arrive in the capital boosted by a tremendous 2-0 win over Chelsea on Monday night.

That maiden Premier League home win of the season has seen Kieran McKenna’s men move to within just one point of safety at the foot of the table.

How the bookies view it: Fulham hot favourites

Despite failing to win each of their last three Premier League home games, Fulham are firm 1/2 favourites on Boylesports to bank all three points on Sunday.

Ipswich are as big as 9/2 on Boylesports to claim back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time this season, while an all square affair in the capital has been chalked up at 16/5 with the same bookmaker.

Head to head: History favours the hosts

Fulham have taken top honours from six of their last seven meetings with Ipswich across all competitions. That being said, Ipswich did pick up a point from August’s reverse fixture between the pair.

Players to watch: Calvin to commit a foul?

Calvin Bassey looks worth backing to commit at least one foul during this contest at 4/5 on Bet 365. The Fulham centre-half committed two fouls during the reverse fixture between the pair earlier this season.

Elsewhere, Ipswich midfielder Sam Morsy merits support to commit two or more fouls during this match at 4/5 on Bet 365. The Tractor Boys captain has made multiple misdemeanours in 10 of his 17 Premier League appearances this season so far.

Predicted line-ups

Fulham will once again be without injured trio Harrison Reed, Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson. Emile Smith Rowe could come back into the starting XI after coming off the bench against Bournemouth last time out.

Ipswich  manager McKenna could stick with the same set of players that put Chelsea to the sword on Monday night.

Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Andersen, Bassey; Traore, Smith-Rowe, Lukic, Iwobi, Robinson; Jimenez

Ipswich: Muric; O'Shea, Greaves, Woolfenden, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Burns, Hutchinson, Broadhead; Delap

Anything else catch the eye?

There would appear to be some value in backing both teams to score at Craven Cottage on Sunday at 4/5 on Boylesports.

Both teams have got on the scoresheet on all bar one of Fulham’s 10 Premier League home games this season.

This same selection would have also proven profitable in five of Ipswich’s last seven league games away from Portman Road.
