MANCHESTER CITY'S trip to Belgium to face Club Brugge on Tuesday has turned into a pretty crucial game after their previous Champions League defeat at Paris St Germain.
The first of a double header sees Pep Guardiola's side attempt to do something that PSG's star-studded side couldn't do and win in Belgium.
They will be up against Scotland international Jack Hendry who appears to have blended effortlessly into such exalted Champions League company.
The champions of Belgium currently sit in second place behind shock leaders Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, who last won the league in 1935 and are making their first appearance in top-flight football in 48 years.
But it's their Champions League group stages performances that City will be aware of – their 1-1 draw against PSG was played in front of an incredible atmosphere at the Jan Breydel Stadium and they followed that up by winning 2-1 in Germany against RB Leipzig. In the previous two years they have drawn with Real Madrid, Machester United and Lazio at home.
City cruised to a routine 2-0 home win against Burnley on Saturday, but they still appear to be a long way from their best yet.
How the bookies view it
City are almost insultingly short at 2/7 with SBK and that's the best price too.
Philippe Clement's side are 21/2 with BetVictor and the draw is 5/1 with bet365.
Recent head to heads
This is the first meeting between the sides. Here's City's 2-0 win against Burnley on Saturday.
Players to watch
Hans Vanaken has a really good scoring record as a midfielder with 57 goals in 157 league starts for Brugge. He also netted in both their Champions League games this season against PSG and RB Leipzig and is a huge 34/5 with SBK to score anytime and grab his seventh goal of the season.
The same firm is offering 23/12 for Kevin de Bruyne to score in his homeland and he will be desperate to net. He's scored in both of City's last two games and the former Genk star will be motivated to make it three.
Anything else catch the eye?
Brugge proved they aren't afraid of anyone against PSG and they could quite easily have gone on to win the game. There is an argument for backing them in the double chance, but a safer bet is on the handicaps and the evens offered by 888Sport for the hosts with a two goal start on the handicaps has to have a great chance.
Brugge are certainly capable of scoring too and the 5/4 with Boylesports for over 2.5 goals and both teams to score should give investors a run for their money.
