FOOTBALL'S back – well football as we know and love it.
In the English Championship we have Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough, from the Bundesliga it's Eintracht Frankfurt v Fortuna Dusseldorf and from France it's Lyon v Nimes.
There are also Greg's favourite Ligue 2 matches as well as lower-league Dutch games.
Newbie garydoc777 has been warmly welcomed after putting up an over 2.5 goals fivefold for tonight's games and I wish him luck.
Well done to any winners yesterday – it was a no-bet day for me.
While it's good to see some decent Friday football as always my focus at this time of the week is on Saturday's games but I've picked out a treble for tonight.
Start with Sheffield Wednesday not to lose at home to Middlesbrough. The Owls are unbeaten at home and could feel fresher than their opponents who protested about the timing of this fixture having had 10 players away on international duty. Likely to be tight but Wednesday could edge it.
I was going to add over 2.5 goals at Eintracht but instead just going for the home win. Eintracht have won their last two home games 4-1 against Hannover and Lyon and both have scored in their previous eight – hence the goals thoughts.
But Fortuna's four away games have totalled just five goals (one scored) and they sit second bottom so should be a straightforward win for the home men.
Complete the treble with both to score at Celta Vigo v Alaves. Both have scored in seven out of eight of Celta's games and they welcome an attack-minded Alaves who beat Real Madrid last time out and should hit the target.
1.5pts Top Treble
- Eintracht Frankfurt (7.30pm)
- Sheffield Wednesday +1 (7.45pm)
- Celta Vigo v Alaves btts (8pm)
- (22-5, Coral)
Mr Fixit's October Super Singles Total: +5.9pts
Mr Fixit's October Advised Accas Total: +10.5pts
THERE’S no better way to welcome back club football than a Friday night French card. It’s been a long 12 days but it’s great to see the return of proper football
Troyes v Sochaux (7pm)
The international break came at the wrong time for Ligue 1 relegated Troyes – after a disastrous start, they have finally found their feet in Ligue 2 and are one of the leagues form sides collecting 10 points from their last four games which is a far cry from the three points they claimed from their opening six games.
They’ve won three home matches on the spin and will be looking to maintain their impressive run of results against a Sochaux side who are heading in the opposite direction.
The visitors are without a win in four ( three defeats and a draw) scoring just one goal, it’s going to be a tough ask to get anything from this game, especially being away from home against a side bang in form and who have three clean sheets from their last four games.
The bookies have Troyes priced at odds against which I think is extremely generous given how both sides have been performing over the last month. I’m taking Troyes to make inroads towards the top six
Recommended Bet
Troyes to beat Sochaux
15/13 (Unibet) (NAP)
Paris FC v Chateauroux (7pm)
This is another match were the home side look value to improve their promotion hopes against a side who are leaking goals and really struggle away from home.
Paris have accumulated 12 of their 16 points at home (winning all 4 games) and although they lost narrowly on the road last time out they are back in front of their own fans looking to maintain their 100% home record.
The visitors will have been glad of the international break after shipping 8 goals in their last two games (0-3 1-5) – they have yet to win on the road and I don’t see that changing tonight against a very strong Paris side
Recommended Bet
Paris FC to beat Chateauroux

Specials – French Ligue 2
It was another 25/1 winner last time out as first half goals landed for I think the 3rd time already this season and I’ll be on that again and over 1.5 goals – Skybet have smartened up a bit and have cut the price on these (offering 20/1 for first half goals ) but better value elsewhere + you’ll get cash out options
Recommended Bet
Goal in the first half of all 8 matches – 23/1 (Bet365)

Anybody with any knowledge on Aussie football? It’s a strange league for me with Melbourne Victory declared the eventual winners despite being 23 points behind Sydney over the normal season. Personally I think it’s a tragic way of deciding league winners. Anyhoo Adelaide Utd welcome Sydney FC and I spotted that Sydney have recruited Adam Le Fondre and Siem De Jong in the summer but its another signing that’s took my interest and he’s scored 4 in his last 3 in the FFA Cup. Trent Buhagair is his name and he’s 4/1 too net anytime. I’m feeling Sydney will have too much firepower against an Adelaide side that’s scored only once in the past 7 meetings of the sides, Sydney have won 5 with 2 goalless draws. Make it interesting for a small punt I’m backing Buhagair too score in a Sydney win.
Bet Builder
Sydney to win
Buhagair anytime scorer

It’s Australia mate they do things upside down lol, games never kick off on time either same as the MLS,if it were premier league clubs there would be fines left right and center!
6mins late Macca haha least they’re consistent.
Buhagair not in the squad 💩
Haha shame there isn’t a market for it we’d be quids in!
Start of the A league tonight here in Australia sees Sydney travel to Adelaide. Sydney haven’t lost to Adelaide in the last 7 but this is a different team from last year. No Bobo or Mierzejewski. Sydney’s last game was an easy 3-0 victory in the FFA cup. they have been scoring plenty but against inferior teams until WSW.
looks like all the a-league games this weekend offer value. Going on previous records you would say Sydney but Adelaide have a decent home record when it comes to first games of the season.
I think Sydney will be too strong…just. just a goal in it I reckon.
Sydney to win

Liverpool finally welcome back something they have been missing in midfield tomorrow and thats a play-maker,having never replaced Philip Coutihno Lallana comes back into the side and hopefully Liverpool’s goal tally should pick up somewhat, also a big signing in January looks on the cards as Liverpool look to strengthen in midfield.
How do you know they’ll make a big signing in January?
It’s no secret,if you read plenty FSG have stated their intentions and Klopp has said another signing in January will be made, having made one signing less than he wanted in the summer.
Brugge, Lyon > 2.5 MGS Evens
GL all!
Thought they had done that in the summer mccathered
Goals looks the shout in 🇯🇵 both team scoring and conceding for fun. Reysol have seen 25 goals in their last 6 games(3-0,2-3,1-1,2-3,1-3,5-1) and Grampus 🎱 have seen no less than 29 in their last 6 games(1-2,1-3,3-4,6-1,4-1,3-0)
BTTS at 1/2 is skinny and even adding o2.5 gls leaves it under Evens at 4/5. Looked a bit deeper into the goals for and against stats for 1st half & 2nd half and the second half looks the more likely bet here. Reysol have scored in 4/6 after the break and conceded in 4/6,btts has landed on 3/6 occasions. Grampus 🎱 have scored in all 6 after the break and conceded in 4 which obviously means there’s been 4/6 BTTS.
Having said that the first half stats aren’t too bad either with both teams also having scored in 4/6 before the break with Reysol conceding in 4 & Grampus 🎱 in 3/6.
Reysol also played through 90mins and extra time on Sunday in the cup whereas Grampus have had the feet up since the 7th,with that in mind the away side could be value to score 2+ at 11/8 against a leg weary home side.
Grampus 🎱 o1.5 tgls 11/8
BTTS 2nd half 13/8
BTTS both halves 17/2 for small stakes
Aussie League is usually a mad one for pens. so i am on a wee fun bet to start the day

Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough
Two early-season promotion candidates clash at Hillsborough as Championship football returns after the international break.
Wednesday sit in 6th place in the league while Boro are two places higher in 4th. Wednesday have yet to taste defeat at home after 6 games of which 4 have been drawn and converting these draws into wins has been their problem this season.
Boro, despite losing 2-0 to Nottingham Forest last time out, still boast the best defence in the league having only conceded 6 goals in 12 outings and keeping 8 clean sheets.
Boro manager Tony Pulis is an expert at setting up his defence to give very little away and tonight will be no exception. Sheffield Wednesday’s games this season have averaged over 3 goals per game while Boro are averaging under 2 goals a game.
I can see a cagey encounter between these two sides who would probably settle for a point at the end. On the H2H front Middlesbrough have won 4 and drawn 1 of the last five meetings and I feel they won’t lose at Hillsborough.
Recommended Bets
Draw (9-4, bet365)
Under 2.5 goals (13-18, 188bet)
Half-Time 0-0 (17-10, BetStars)
First game of the season is always tricky and the A league can be unpredictable at the best of times, but you don’t often see odds against for Sydney to score twice. Should be a tight game and if I’d got on early enough I would have opted for most goals 2nd half, as it is I’ll make do with Sydney O1.5TGs. They have the better players and although Bobo and Mierzejewski have gone I’m hoping Ninkovic and the new attackers De Jong and Le Fondre will step up.
5/4
Good luck

Zamora v Estudiantes de Merida (11PM)
Both teams to score
3/4
Whilst Zamora’s form is very inconsistent, they’re a different team at home and the vast majority of wins have been on home soil. Barring their last home game which ended 0-0 v Zulia – they’ve scored at least 1 goal in their last 16 consecutive home games.
Visitors Estudiantes de Merida have seen BTTS in each of their last 7 recent fixtures (home and away) including a 1-1 home draw v table-toppers Monagas.
To further strengthen the case, over the years this H2H fixture has seen BTTS in every single game since 2007 – that’s 12 games in a row – the most recent of which was a 1-3 away win for Zamora in May this year.

Nothing from me on Thursday after Novara blanked on Wednesday night. That was frustrating as the game at Albissola went exactly to plan. Capped off a midweek in which I was constantly ‘1 goal shy’, but I’m hoping for a change in luck going into the weekend…
Namely, there are two games in the deepest darkest depths of Austria and Germany respectively that appeal. I promise I’m not making these teams up. Stats speak for themselves here, and there should be every chance that both sides net in either game.
However, take an extra risk on the top of the table clash in the Eerste Divisie. Despite Nijmegen busting many BTTS punts a couple of weeks back when failing to net at Almere, I have renewed confidence that table toppers Go Ahead Eagles will net there. They haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road yet though, while Almere’s home goalscoring record speaks for itself.
Half Stake:
Neusiedl v Traiskirchen
Wandsbeker Concordia v Barmbek-Uhlenhorst
Almere v Go Ahead Eagles

Spezia scored in all home league games so far, Pescara scored in all home and away games so far, h2hs look decent, most recent in April finished 3-2. Lying 4th and 1st in league respectively, looks a decent price.
I’m adding to the following:
Troyes and under 3.5Mgls 17-10 (Slight variation on Gregs selection above)
Celta Vigo v Alaves btts 3-4
Almere v Go Ahead Eagles 4-9

Repost from midweek
Friday – Keuken Kampioen Divisie
Oss v Den Bosch
My team Den Bosch play the local derby against Oss on Friday. Den Bosch have been taken over by a new owner who already brought in a lot of new players in the beginning of the season. They are playing better every week and won the last 3 games. In the last game against Dordrecht last Friday they were missing 4 players who were on International duty. One of them was topscorer Sappinen who started up front for Estonia in the Nations League game against Finland. Other important players are Beltrame who is on loan from Juventus and midfielders Holla and Verbeek who have a lot of experience in the top tier of Dutch football. Den Bosch visit Oss who won 1 of their last 5 games. Oss only beat Jong Utrecht who are one of the worst teams in the league. 3 of these 5 games were 0-0 draws and Oss only scored 2 goals in their last 5 games, which were both against the youngsters of Utrecht. You can get 1.80 for Den Bosch not to lose this game and that is what I took in this game.
FC Den Bosch +0.50 asian handicap @ 1.80
Odds on this are now gone. Best I found is 1.58 now, DNB is an good alternative @ 2.08
Sunday – Eredivisie
NAC v Willem II
Another local derby on Sunday between the cities of Breda and Tilburg. NAC are bottom of the league and need to start collecting points very soon. I am taking a goals bet here with over 2.5 goals available @ 1.75
4 of the last 5 games of NAC saw over 2.5 goals and all 8 games this season saw at least 2 goals. Willem II scored in all but one game this season and saw both teams to score in their last 5 games. 5 of their 8 games this season saw over 2.5 goals If you have the chance to watch this game it is recommended, the atmosphere will be massive.
Over 2.5 match goals @ 1.75
Heracles v Groningen
Heracles are the suprise package of this Eredivisie season. After they held Ajax to a 1-1 draw on the opening day they only lost 2 games and won 5. They scored 19 goals in 8 games and 13 in their 4 home games. They play Groningen who are horrible at the moment. They only scored 4 goals in 8 games this season. Groningen sit second from bottom and only got a draw (against 10 men) and a win at fellow strugglers De Graafschap this season. Heracles won all their 4 homes games on their plastic pitch this season scoring 4-3-4-2 goals. They should have more than enough to outscore the lowest scoring team in the Eredivisie and I am suprised you can get this price on the home win.
Heracles to win @ 1.87
Odds on Heracles are drifting and I am not sure why. You can back them now at evens.

Den Bosch won the game 0-1, should have killed them off in the 1st half. Oss haven’t really created anything all game. This Den Bosch team is much better than the odds suggested, they were 3.10 to win when the markets opened on Monday.
Eager to see what the odds are going to be for the home game against Eindhoven next week.
was on this thanks and on your HERACLES sunday now 19/20
Was on 3 corners each half in Ligue 2 wi ma free fiver and think it’s a winner at 18/1. Dunni why but Metz game was a delayed restart or had a stoppage, probably floodlights as other games were fine, or crowd trouble. Telstar corner short for same bet at Eerste Div & no joy with the goals specials. No be touching the ‘big game’ tomorrow at SB, Scottish Cup tomorrow and Lithgae Rose could well struggle against Beith. 6/4 was best price on Tuesday when I checked. Auckinleck looked big aswell at 15/2.
Auchinleck are never anywhere that price but Cove are a decent outfit. Beith probably edge it with home advantage.
They were 13/2 & 15/2 was for Kelty at Peterhead, just checked texts to my dad. Stuck a few daft shop bets on before coming down to for alton towers and got they 3 plus Rothes on a line but only got 5/1 at Ladbrokes Auckinleck, hink Beith were 5/4
Can’t see Kelty winning – Peterhead are a decent outfit at home and Kelty won’t have Ferguson until next week.
