IT was another quiet night on Wednesday but well played to HullShaker who put up three winners.

The man's form's better than Liverpool's and he'll be out to cop some more winners this week.

Tonight it's the start of the UEFA Nations League and well done to anyone who has grasped how this works. I've read articles and watched videos and it's helluva complicated.

Briefly there are three leagues and four groups within each league. There's is promotion and relegation and play-offs for places at Euro 2020.

League A features the top 16 nations including Germany, France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain and England. The winners of the four groups will play off for a trophy in June 2019.

Scotland are in League C with the likes of group rivals Albania and Israel as well as Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Romania and Serbia and one team from their level will qualify for Euro 2020 after play-offs.

Games tonight are Germany v France, Czech Republic v Ukraine, Wales v Ireland, Norway v Cyprus, Slovenia v Bulgaria, Kazakhstan v Georgia, Latvia v Andorra, Armenia v Liechtenstein, Gibraltar v Macedonia.

Having looked at the games closely I've decided to put up a first-scorer single, anytiime scorer double and a double. I can't get away from the fact although these are not friendlies they have a friendly feel to them.

I believe Wales will beat Ireland and avenge the home defeat that cost them a chance of making the World Cup finals. Wales have all their stars available such as Gareth Bale, Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsay while the Irish are missing a handful of players including Harry Arter, Robbie Brady and Shane Long.

As it's a double I'm on Wales draw no bet and adding France not to lose in Germany. The world champions will want to lay down a marker ahead of Euro 2020 and face a nation looking to rebuild. Also fancy Kylian Mbappe to score.

Remember to check out all the match previews and have a look at welovebetting for their tips and videos.

No joy last night , only did two bets both lost.
As mr f says it`s hard to grasp the Nations cup games tonight. I like a few bets in the Wales v Ireland match – but i don`t know how serious they are taking this match.

    Wales v Rep. of Ireland

As proud an Irishman as I am I just can’t see us getting anything from this game.
It has to be the worst squad ever assembled to represent us certainly in my lifetime anyway.
Then there’s the Harry Arter and Declan Rice incidents which haven’t helped either.
I think Bale will run riot against us tonight and also Wales owe us one and I think they will show no mercy tonight

    Morning gents,

Cheers Mr F – wasn’t a good card yesterday so pleased with a Full House and some decent priced winners ?

Onto today and although this Nations Cup has a bit of a vague feeling to it, you can’t deny the fact that the games do carry more levity than they appear to.

One game stands out for me and has some tasty looking prices as the current World Champions travel to a side with legendary status who bombed on the big stage for the first time since the days of Methuselah.

    GERMANY VS FRANCE (1945 KO):

The dust has barely settled on both side’s diverse fortunes but Germany lacked coordination and cohesion throughout their brief stint at the World Cup unlike Les Blues who blew everyone out of the water.

I reckon Löw could be left scratching his head (or possibly his arse) here as his side come up against a French outfit that you can’t help but be impressed by – only this morning I was hearing about discontent between Kroos and Sane and there’s definitely ‘summat up’ with Die Mannschafts mentality.

Three selections for me and I’m siding with the away team with their squad, form and success rate on ze German soil:

    FRANCE GOAL BEFORE 56:00…5/6
    (Bet365)
    ????

    FRANCE OVER 1.5 TGS…8/5
    (Coral)
    ??

    MBAPPE ATGS…2/1
    (Betway)
    ?

    Best of luck ?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

It’s a good shout Hull lad,it might sound daft but Germany are not the same without Ozil,i don’t rate Ozil in the Arsenal team but in the Germany side he was a huge part of their attack, one hell of a player who could open sides up at will and with ease,he will never play for ze Germans again and with their backline against Mbappe it could be a stroll for France.I done France in a treble but also taken them on a single bet also.best of luck

Can someone help me with his thoughts on the Norway vs Cyprus game

Norway is defeated Australia , Albania , Iceland and Panama in their last 4 friendlies and lost once to Germany in the last 5 games of 2018 Qualifiers. They start playing hard as before and don’t easily give opportunities to opponents. They will probably win again, against Cyprus, as Cyprus’s poor run continues but not sure if the first half should see draw.

Norway win to nil looks good to me

As the Nation`s cup is a bit of the unknown, i`m going for three games that might be a bit spicy. Penalty trixie at.
    Germany v France
    Wales v R.O.I.
    Kasakhstan v Georgia.
All three up pays over 154/1. boosted at Hills
I think the prices reflect that the bookies don`t think the games will be competitive . ( what do they know )

  14. GregBrowning 6 years ago

Morning gents – tough set of international games today, have had a good look though the games and there are two matches i like the look of

    Norway v Cyprus 7.45pm

Things certainly appear to be on the up for Norway – they finished 6 points off the pace in their world cup qualifying games but since then they have won all 4 matches, 3 of which were against sides who qualified for the world cup (Austrailia, Iceland, Panama). They have won 7 of their last 10 matches and their is an air of optimisim that theywill be much more competetive in the Nations League and euro qualifers when they start.

The same cant be said for this Cyrpus side who have just a solitory draw to show for the efforts in their last 7 games. and when you look deeper, they have managed just 4 wins in their last 19 matches – two of which were against minnows Gilbraltar. They have always struggled on their travels and have lost 9 of their last 10.

This is a tough match for Cyprus and given Norways recent resurgence, its really a case of how comfortable Norways win will be. Norway on the handicap looks appealing at 6/5 but happy to take Norway and over 1.5 goals at a slightly lower price .

Back Norway and over 1.5 match goals 4/5 (Ladbrokes)

    *********************************************************************************

    Austria v Sweden KO 7.45pm

I’ve been really impressed with Austria over the last 12 months – They had a poor start to their world cup qaulifying campaign an that poor start was the reason they missed out on Russia. They have completely turned things around winning winning 7 of their last 9. Ive backed them a few times and they havent let me down. Its no just their good form, its the quality of the oppostion they have beaten which really stands out.

Urugaury, Slovenia, Russia and Germany have all been put to the sword by the Austrians and I’m taking them to defeat another team who were at the world cup, by defeating Sweden.

Swedens success is down to their defensive strength but with Austria being at home and in great shape, I fancy them to edge this

Back Austria to Win 6/5 (Sporting Bet)

  15. boomshackle 6 years ago

Been working on a spreadsheet that helps me identify teams most likely to score first in a given match. Will trial it when the international break is over next week and post results. Probably going with a NAP, NB & Bonkers.

Obviously a dodgy market as all it takes is a penalty, or breakaway goal for it to crash, but we’ll see. Will continue with the Arsenal match reviews too.

  16. maccathered 6 years ago

Gareth Bale to score from outside the area boosted to 8/1 Skybet, for me this is a standout bet as surely Wales will get a free kick near the Ireland area.

I can’t for the life of me understand why France have drifted out to 2/1 against a bang average German side

Do the bookies know something we don’t is my only concern …..

France over 1.5 tg @ 13/8 is crazy value

Will wait for team news ……

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

all about team news. if France are fielding a full strength squad i’ll be backing them on the win

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

noticed the fixture is away, at the Allianz Arena (Germany) so no doubt that’s been taking into consideration by the bookies too. France draw not bet perhaps the better option at 11/10.

Unsure how competitive these games are going to be or if they are glorified friendlies.

Only the wales card didnt come in.

Didnt watch the game so no idea if the game was competitive, which was my worry.

    Evening all..

Fell into the ‘ shall it be a landslide’ trap yesterday with the Slovaks/Danes Futsol elite..! Should’ve held back and done inplay as first half was a sign that a goalfest was unlikely…and Czech U21s were equally as stingy…

  34. nathanufton 6 years ago

Apologies if my input/contribution over the next few days is a bit off, had a stinker of a night last night with the news that a friend of mine took his own life and none of my so called friends that knew bothered to tell me. It really lets you know where you stand in their pecking order when it happened 12 months ago. He had diagnosed ME and he became yet another victim of these absurd attacks on people with disabilities by the government that we elected – via the fitness to work assessments. ( roughly translated to ” we’ll take your tax and NI contributions when you’re working but screw you if you think we’ll help you if your health takes a turn for the worst . I’d love to say this is an isolated incident but it appears the heartless cuts the government imposes on those in most need claims around 2500 peoples lives in the Uk.
I’ve not really looked at much football because my head is spinning. I know there is Rotherham/Derby coming up, I shall try to put something together but nothing right now is jumping out at me.
Apologies about my last preview, it wasn’t posted in enough time for the admins to sort out. It was there and I did share the bulk of the info in the main thread. Unscheduled friends visiting during my ” writing ” time meant I had to post after kick-off, but I also used my preview to include the team news.
Often the info that holds the gold comes via the team news which we have to wait for 1 hr before kick-off, but it has its downside. If the preview is already written and posted well in advance, people will or will not bet long before that crucial piece of the jigsaw is made available. I think that most people drop their bets on around an hour before kick-off, but then there is a run-over time to include team news, which can and will affect bets. Its a double edged sword. Post too late and either few people read the previews or the preview doesn’t get added.. Post too early and inside info is not available and people will read the previews without all the info being made available. Accuracy and consistency always my focus in my write-ups.
Good luck tonight guys and sorry for my sombre start.

Some pretty decent results shaping up tonight… Some are waiting on goals in the Germany/France match..pretty end to end now, and tempo increased… my cash out not available (waiting on France double chance) as Norway match frozen out, having got the 2nd goal…?

Also waiting on 1 more goal in Gibraltar/Macedonia match…

    Can cover on both, though

French keeper playing an absolute blinder on his debut…?

Today was a long ass day and tonight will be a long ass night for other reasons

I am looking forward to 3 things tonight:

    BALLERS
    MORGAN AND FANTA
    GREMIO MATCH

    *Santos vs Gremio*

tonight in my opinion is one if not our biggest away game this year as Santos are a side I follow also and they have an immensely talented young squad who have huge pace on the right wing.
To see us priced up at a big 13/5 and 7/2 various is huge and with the nature of brazil games it again would be awful hard for me not to do them considering
    1. The money they have brought me over the years
    2. We are a great side and that price would hurt more if I didn’t do it and they won

however I was in 1 William Hill shop today and I see SANTOS 7/5 and GREMIO 7/4 yes 7/4

they have been slashed on the paper coupon big time

said before and I’ll say it again, We have the best defence in the league with only 11 conceded in22 games and we have scored 29 and only lost 4 games

Santos are on a 3 game win streak scoring 8 winning 3-0 2-0 and 3-0 and conceding none which is like their form from years back.

we won our last game 4-0 and it broke our record of 2-3 goals which had saw 9 from 11 achieve this and Santos have seen 4 of the last 5 achieve this also and after our last nap Corinthians (2-1) this can’t be ignored.

Stakes don’t need to be as big tonight on the side bets as the price is huge and I have adjusted them as follows in my photos below

    2-3 Goals NAP 1/1 £50
    Gremio 0.0, +0.5 1.925 £35
    Gremio win 13/5 £15

Greg/Macca – well done on your shouts ?

Mine were a write-off and anyone who took France dnb would’ve called a blinder though even that would have been lucky with Germany bossing the game.

    • the stamp collector 6 years ago

Watched it on sky red button, Hull; Germany looked good 2nd half….

Well done the winners on wales and bale, dissapointed i didnt back them as in hindsight it looks easy.

Just was unsure how teams were going to take these games.

Think overall i will be avoiding them

Focus on the real stuff next week

  57. jamesylfc 6 years ago

Well done all winners, all my bets were down, no goal in 2nd half of Gibraltar, no France goal and the RB Leipzig friendly no good.
Saved in the end and with healthy profit thanks to Macca and his cracking note of the SkyBet boost on Bale, 8/1 wow ?

  58. jamesylfc 6 years ago

Had a little spare time on my hands tonight so did some scouting of the South American games in action.
Found what I hope is some cracking value in Colombia and with a 2am kick off, shall be hoping to wake up to a winner!

    La Equidad v Independiente Medellín
    La Equidad win 21/20

Now don’t get me wrong I’m far from an expert on these leagues but reading the stats and comments on twitter I’ve come to the conclusion that this is worth a go.
La Equidad seem to be a team overachieving massively at the moment having played and won all 7 games they have played this season and have yet to concede a goal in the process!
The visitors seem to be having more of a mixed start to the season and of the 7 games they have played this season have won 3, drew 2 and lost 2, on their travels that shows as played 4, won 1, drew 1 and lost 2.
This here gave me total confidence in a home win, the concerning part would be the h2h record of the last five games with Equidad failing to win any, drawing 3 and losing the other 2. Worth noting that both draws were at home though.

With all that said and done the chance of doubling your stake and a little more, with strong recent form backing it up, I say it’s worth a shot ?
