LIONEL MESSI finally got his goal against Chelsea to land the Super Single – although he was handed it on a plate.
Chelsea were the better side but one mistake means they'll be up against it in the second leg in the Nou Camp although they are now unbeaten in eight against Barcelona.
My fairly safe Top Treble landed at 7-5 thanks to Aston Villa, Cambridge and Morton not losing but no Besiktas goal – they were on the backfoot after a 16th-minute red card – beat the both to score double as they crashed 5-0 at Bayern Munich.
Well done to all the winners including Greg with his 25-1 goals tip and earlier Hibs reserves.

There are four big Championship games in England with five of the top six in action. Cardiff should beat Ipswich and Wolves can see off Norwich while there could be goals at Bristol City v Fulham and Derby v Leeds.
In League One Rochdale follow their draw against Spurs with a home meeting against MK Dons and could have some tired legs.
Real Madrid travel to Leganes in La Liga with Cristiano Ronaldo rested and Cristiano Ronaldo and Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo injured. Should still be too good for a side that hasn't scored in their last four.
Having looked at the card I've decided to play it fairly simple again and back an over 1.5 goals fourfold. Reasoning for the Shakhtar-Roma game is on the Champions League post and the English Championship games all look good for goals.
Last night just three out of 26 teams playing in the Football League failed to score. I'm tempted by btts in all five games tonight but have doubts about Leeds and Ipswich.

Preston was a tough tough game as a I predicted and obviously a little controversial but it goes to show we aren’t at our best against more physical teams who are more anti football.
Norwich do play football but also defend quite well. This one is going to go one way or the other. Norwich will either come and play football and in that case we’re likely to run riot like when we played Sheffield Utd or alternatively they set up to defend and take a point and we’re left with a tight low scoring affair.
Norwich still have to have aspirations of getting towards the playoffs and to do so need to try and win everything. They look fairly safe from relegation now and suspect we may have an open game tonight as a result.

Helder Costa has struggled to get back to his old ways after a long injury lay off but lately looks more like his old self and had scored in each of his last 2 games.

After a horrendous couple of weeks what with the website access being almost un-accessible, the only things I never really contributed to regards Derbys last match was that we’d made 6 changes against Sheff Wed and I felt they were ripe for the picking. Famous last words. We got beat 2 nil.
This past 2 matches, Carson had let in 3 goals total, the same amount he conceded in his previous 13 or so matches.
Although Derby’s results have slipped down a peg or 2 since January, 4 losses since September is hardly enough reason to worry. Last night, I failed to post my Sheff Utd tip, I just forgot. Sorry. they won 2-1 @ 4/5 and now I have £18 to play with.
Both Tottenham and man City joined my naughty step over the weekend and I have had to start from scratch yesterday.
6 changes for Derby was too much, against a side that had form against them and we should of buried them for 3 points.
Rowett is going to make at least 4 changes ( Olsson/Thorne/Lawrence/Wisdom ) should return.
Vydra is statistically due another goal and I think Derby have won 5 from 6 matches at home to Leeds. We beat them 2-1 away earlier on in the season from a goal down.
Derby have not actually been playing that well since maybe November, but we turned draws into wins in the most cases, sadly, since the turn of the year, we’ve been guilty of turning the wick down and turning wins into draws mainly.
We’ve won once from our last 5 which at this time of the season is turning into a bit like ” Derby deja-vu “. We’ve had 4 or 5 chances this year to do the league double on someone and we’ve yet to accomplish it. I think tonight will change. Leeds have been sliding for a while now, I think 1 win in 8 or 9. they’re all but about out of the running for a top 6 finish, but a rams victory tonight/home advantage and way more to play for ( back up to 3rd ) should see the Rams grab a much needed win that can put us back on track. I think its a good time to play Leeds. We do have a run of very tough games coming in March. Its time we put some points on the board. Technically there is 42 points still to play for.

A cautionary note about tonights possible fiery affair, usually its an organised punch up with the possibility that a game of football might break out. I think the last 2 times we’ve faced off against them, the cards fest has been an anti-climax.

After 8 or 9 matches covering for a recuperating Ledley, Thorne sat out the last match over a minor back injury. I was led to believe he was fit and available for a start. Likewise, Wisdom was dropped in favour of Baird in right back – who has rarely figured this season. Baird keeps his place. I think the gaffer has one eye on keeping Thorne safe. He does like to get stuck in, but against a physical side like Leeds who are capable of putting in some hard tackles, I’d rather he dodges this bullet and is available for the rest of the season. We have harder games ahead of us and we need him. Lawrence back in is a no brainer. Johnson did ok on the left wing where he did so well for Norwich, but that was 2 seasons back. Out there he’s never quite hit that vein of form for the rams.
I am happy with the line-up. I think we’ll make the home advantage count today. I was wrong about Derby winning 5 from 6 at home to Leeds, they beat us in 2015 scoreline of 2-1. Since they fell out of the Premier league in 2004, then dropped into Div 1, they’ve lost to us 16 times in total, the same number that Cardiff have lost to us. Stats put both of them as the worst performing opponents against derby in the league.

Still inclined to believe Vydra will get on the scoresheet, his minutes played and minutes per goal is around 115mins over this season, that’s around 30% more prolific than any other championship goalscorer. With Leon Clarke hitting a rough patch, the golden boot is Vydra’s to lose. I’d like to see him win it, it can then justify the £7 mill we paid for him.
A Derby win to nil or keep a clean sheet is a possibility, I’d avoid the cards markets because they’re not as predictable as they used to be vs Leeds. Likewise the corners market. Even though we’re good for 5/6/7 corners most weeks, we don’t seem to be playing for them because we rarely score from them. They rarely hit the 10+ corners they used to every other week. I’d steer clear of that market.
