IT'S a cracking day for armchair fans with West Ham v Man United live at lunchtime and Chelsea v Liverpool at teatime – and of course all day there's action from day two of a thrilling Ryder Cup.

For me I'll see a bit of the Hammers match and some of the morning action from Paris – alarm clock is again set for 7.10am – before heading to Clydebank v Armadale in the Scottish Junior Cup.

I've posted Scottish and English betting previews as well as a Saturday Super Single shortlist.

From those I've picked Hamilton to beat a Dundee who side still without a point.

Good luck with all of your bets and well done to all the winners on Friday.

My run of Super Single winners ended as Partick Thistle lost at Dunfermline. The first half was so bad I switched to Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds which was much more entertaining. The fact there was even a goal at East End surprised me after a turgid 45.

Remember to have a look at WeLoveBetting for their brilliant tips.

    Posted Thursday:

    Chelsea v Liverpool

I grew up on the terraces at Griffin Park with my dad as a Brentford fan as they mucked about in the lower leagues. The story goes that I felt left out at school as all my friends supported United, Arsenal and the other PL powerhouses, so I took a shine to my Uncle’s first love Chelsea FC. Years later, I’m forever justifying why I support two clubs but it has at least given me a good bit of knowledge about either side.

Watching last night’s game at Anfield, I’m sure my perception of the game might differ slightly to Macca’s given my blue tinted specs. Both sides certainly were far from their full-strength, but I was surprised at how well Chelsea controlled the ball in the first half an hour or so. The squad has clearly taken to Sarri’s philosophy far quicker than I could’ve imagined and seeing us going to Anfield to ‘play’ was a breath of fresh air.

However, what last night also reaffirmed is where Chelsea are currently struggling with the philosophy – losing the ball in dangerous areas when playing out from the back. Granted, Christensen, Cahill and Azpi aren’t the most dependable ball playing defenders, but the mistakes last night were innumerable. A Liverpool fan would view their side as pressing well and forcing errors, but either way a large portion of their clear cut chances came from Chelsea defenders (and Ross Barkley) surrendering possession in dangerous areas.

Admittedly, Luiz and (hopefully) Rudiger will return to the side on Saturday, but the flaw is still there no matter who lines up in the back 4. It was evident against Arsenal at the Bridge earlier this season when, if not for some dire finishing, the Gunners could’ve scored a sackful before half time. If there’s any side that will press and take advantage of a susceptible, ball-playing back line like Chelsea’s, it’s this Liverpool side.

It’s certain that Sarri will not budge from his philosophy no matter the opponent. Though I’d be more comfortable of Liverpool’s first 30 minute ‘blitz’ occurring at Anfield, I still think they will cause Chelsea real problems on Saturday once they field their strongest XI.

I’d be all over goals in this one, but my only worry is Liverpool’s stronger defence coupled with them being a little more streetwise in big games now might mean that Chelsea struggle to contribute. Instead, I’m on Liverpool at what I think, if I’m betting with my head, is a reasonable price.

Agreed @buzzer, feeling hopeful today. It was disappointing not to leave Portman Road with 3 points but no shame in our last two defeats. I was especially impressed with the second half performance at the Emirates – and I was chuffed for Judgey when he scored. The forgotten man after his horror injury! Good luck mate.

That’s more like it – Full House in South America 😀

Fair to say it’s been a rubbish week – a combination of little time, poor cards and even poorer selections has conspired against me but hoping to get back.on track with a late night Brasilian…

    PAYSANDU VS. GOIAS (2315):

Interesting game this one as two teams go head to head with plenty to play for but at opposite ends of the table!

Hosts Paysandu have been on a dire run but have harvested 6 valuable points from their last 5 games (3 draws, 1 win 1 loss) which sees them potentially leapfrogging out of the relegation places and above Juventude into 16th spot.

This recent resurgence has also seen an upturn of team goals with the last 3 home fixtures seeing 1, 2 and 3 for Paysandu although they’ll need everything they have got as Goias come to town.

The visitors sit a comfortable 2nd place and can close the gap on leaders Fotraleza to just 4 points with a win tonight; they are in fine fettle and have netted 2-2-0-2-3-0-2-2-3 team goals in their last 9 consecutive games.

With the last 2 H2Hs finishing with 2-1 scorelines, I think there’s every chance of a bit of action as both teams try to squeeze out a result in what could be a great game with some good value:

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS…5/6
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟

    ***WON***

    GOIAS OVER 1.5 TGS…13/8
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟🌟

    ***WON***

    ****************************************

Another SA game that could be worth a look hails from the Chilean Primera and, again, features another host side down in the doldrums:

    SAN LUIS VS. HUACHIPATO (0000)

I’m taking Huachipato to hit the hosts where it hurts and to grab a brace which I’ll double with Goias:

    OVER 1.5 TGS DOUBLE…6/1
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟

    ***WON***

There’s some great looking games in the UK today but whilst my heart tells me to look at my usual English lower league options, my head tells me different – in fact, it’s saying only one thing…Urvalsdeild.

    VALUR VS. KEFLAVÍK (1500 KO):

Top versus bottom and I’m not going to to trot out the rationale for this one; as much as I’ve praised Valur for their continuation of last season’s dominance, I’ve thrown pelters at Keflavik – thd true whipping boys of this campaign.

Valur have hit 5-5-4 team goals in their last 3 domestic home matches whilst Keflavik have conceded 4-3-2-3 in their own last 4 – I can honestly see Valur giving the bottom side an absolute hiding here:

    VALUR OVER 3.5 TGS…4/5
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    VALUR OVER 4.5 TGS…7/4

PSV, Club Brugge, Slough > 1.5 TGS 1.7/1
Hoping for goals in the top of the table CSL clash. Do not understand the price on Hebei to score – given they have scored in their last 10 games. Hard to find team news but may rethink if I find out Lavezzi is missing. Hope PSV and Brugge do not rest too many players ahead on CL games midweek. Slough are in decent form and take on a struggling Hungerford team leaking goals.

    Morning All

Again son great tipping yesterday by many; was busy and driving late so didn’t post or do much, but took advantage of Hullshakers late tip with a bit of a goalfest in 🇹🇹…

My 2nd week of Hearts /Hibs doubles ( downed by Hearts 0-0 last week but as Wednesday proved last Saturday could easily been a 3/4/5 – 1)

    Hearts v St Johnstone
    St Mirren v Hibs

    Hearts win/Hibs>2.5 mgls 3.12/1
    Hibs win/Hearts>2.5 mgls 3.39

St Johnstone are a decent side that are starting to play more like themselves – LC midweek match apart but they defended resolutely for much of the game by all accounts – and may not be much in it ; Hibs away to St Mirren and the tight pitch should see Hibs wide players brought in so may be a few central pots at goal/chances; again midweek in the LC there were chances aplenty.
Greg will no doubt give his usual good analysis on St J, but the double is from a personal interest point and not naps or convincing tips; always a risk, therefore.

Arsenal v Watford 3pm premier League

Arsenal face a tough test at home today against a Watford side who have had an excellent start to the season although defeat against Man Utd followed by a draw away to Fulham has seen them stutter slightly.

A win today will see Arsenal leapfrog Watford into fourth place which will be a very pleasing result for Emery and Gunners fans.

Expect an unchanged team more or less for Arsenal, with Torreira providing the bite in midfield alongside Xhaka. And although Iwobi, Mkhitaryan and Welbeck are all knocking on the door, I think Emery will stick with Lacazette, Aubamayang, Ramsey & Ozil up front.

I expect goals at both ends today, and despite Watford’s good start, Arsenal should not be fearing teams of this calibre and a win should be on the cards.

    BTTS & Arsenal win 8/5

Apologies to the site for my usual input re: Derby this past 2 matches, personal stuff has got in the way of stuff I could of and should of shared.
As you know, Derby had a stinker against Rotherham and Tom Lawrence ( free kick taker, left winger ) got a straight red and Rotherham capitalised with a winner via the penalty spot not long after. He got a 3 match ban. Derby were awful.
Next came Blackburn. Derby played like a team possessed in the first half, how it reached halftime still at 0-0 is beyond me. We hit the post, had 2 goal line clearances + a plethora of solid chances to be going into the break easily 3 or 4 up. The ht stats in Derby’s favour was frightening. I did at some point during that match give you the stats, it was something like 73% possession, 20 to 3 dangerous attacks.
The 2nd half wasn’t as thrilling, we did have a Mason Mount freekick hit the bar, but Blackburn did grow into the game. Sadly for them, it only really softened up the stats a little over the full 90 minutes, but Derby should of been home and dry by the midpoint.
Up next we entertained Brentford, a team that had never won in Derby since I think 1939. I’m sure my dad has socks that are older than their last victory at Derby. The price for Derby win was a serious bookie cock-up. 9/4 with bet365. If Derby played half as well against Brentford as we did in the last match, we’d thump them. I dropped a £10 on them pre-kick off.
Brentford kicked off, went down the wing, got a corner, scored from it on 44 seconds. Just for a few seconds I did panic a little, but then I saw Derby turn up the dial and I sat back having just thrown another in-play £10 @ 6/1 for the Derby win, we got three goals with several minutes of the 1st half still to play. Derby kind of sat back a little the 2nd half and Brentford did occasionally threaten, but it ended a confident 3-1 victory for the Rams.
This next one was a little tricky, Man Utd away in the league cup. Man Utd knocked us out of the FA cup earlier in the year to end our winning streak in January. That ended 2 nil, but Derby put up a very spirited fight for 70 odd minutes in that match. I know all the talk pre-kickoff was about Pogba, but having seen him 8 months ago, whoever valued him at £89 million, needs shooting. He didn’t look like a £89,000 player. Man Utd 2 late goals and quite predictably, they progressed.
Man Utd on Tuesday were priced around 2/7, Derby around 14/1. Guess where I put my money ??? Derby seemed to of found their groove, Man Utd seemingly with the weight of their fans on their shoulders and a manager on the ropes. With a former player in charge for just his 12th game – Lampard facing his old Chelski boss.
I slept way too long and awoke around 10.30pm and Radio Derby were still rabbitting on about the game, I grabbed a brew, rolled a smoke and started to wake up. I realised Derby had knocked out Man Utd !!! You know when a radio commentator tells you everything you don’t want to know and nothing you need to know, like the score, the scorers, the goal time etc, Groundhog day. I fired up the tinterweb and nearly cried. They scored on 3.5 minutes, Derby equalised with a superb Harry Wilson direct freekick ( the first scored against the reds in any competition at old Trafford in 2+ seasons ), the goalkeeper sending off, The excellent 85th minute possible winner, the 94.5th minute equaliser courtesy of a fellaini header. And he used late sub Wisdom to climb all over. Gutted. But, we won 8-7 on penalties.
I can’t blame sleep for missing out on a cashout because either I’d of held on till the whistle or bet365 would of frozen all the cashouts conveniently.
The win against Brentford and the way we played gave me a renewed sense of belief that Derby could play the way the gaffer wants us to. Prior to the League cup game ( after we won the previous round ) I though Man Utd would end our cup run, but Man Utd had a wretched month and as the game drew closer, I felt Derby could cause an upset if they played a weakened team and we fielded our best.
I looked on YouTube and saw the extended highlights, I expected to see a one way assault on Derby’s back line, it looked like that early on and Man Utd should of been home and dry by ht, but Derby did constantly threaten with very good chances throughout. The end stats suggested Derby matched them !!
Mourhino is a terrific manager and I believe he needs another year, but Man Utd fans are like Newcastle fans, they demand instant success. If Man Utd stick with Mourhino, he’ll build his own legacy. I remember long back, when Alex Ferguson was appointed Man Utd’s manager, he was at some point 1 or 2 games from the sack, now look at what he did during his reign. A knighthood, a cupboard full of silverware, a statue, a stand in the ground named after him and 20 years of being one of the best teams in the world.
The Brentford win would be a shot in the arm for the confidence levels in the Derby dressing room, sticking with the same team and all be it winning on penalty’s against Man Utd will make us feel like we can compete with anybody.
Bring on Bolton !! Bolton have only failed to lose against us once in the last 6x head to heads, We did the league double on them last year and I think we have 3 wins on the bounce against them.
Sorry about the ” War and Peace “, but I had a lot of ground to cover. Again apologies to the site for my lack of input. My brain is currently on ” night shift “, So I’ll repost this in tomorrow thread when it is up and I shall write my Bolton/Derby preview when you guys are catching your Z’s.

Couldn’t decide which 3 to do out of these so went with the 5

    BTTS accum

    Arsenal
    Preston
    Walsall
    Luton
    Colchester
    14/1

A couple of teams I think look value based on current form.

    ROTHERHAM to beat stoke 13/5 / +1 5/6

The hosts have won 4 of their 5 homes and the only game they lost is also the only game they have conceded keeping 4 clean sheets. Stoke have just the 1 away win but have netted in all away games so far. Could be a draw so insurance of +1 might be the way to go.

    MORECAMBE to beat Grimbsy 12/5 / +1 4/6

Grimsby have lost their last 5 games without scoring. Morecambe haven’t set the world alight either but did win their last match and are at least capable of scoring

Half pt on the straight double
    2pts on the h’cap double

    Berwick Rangers v Clyde (3pm)

Three wins on the spin have propelled Danny Lennon’s Clyde side back to within three points of leaders Peterhead and they’ll be fancying their chances of making it a 4th consecutive win away to struggling Berwick.

Clyde have a decent squad this year and should be Peterhead’s main challengers. I’m still really surprised they kept hold of striker David Goodwillie, he’ll be the difference in a lot of matches over the course of the season and I’d expect him to add to his 7 goals against this leaky defence,

Berwick are having an awful time of it – they’ve lost 9 of their 11 matches but what has to be a real concern for them is their powder-puff attack. They have failed to score in 9 games this season which is shocking. At home they have lost 0-3 0-4 0-3 0-3 0-3 and have just one 1-0 win to show for their efforts.

Clyde should be too good for today’s hosts and I’d expect them to win by a couple of goals.

    Hearts v St Johnstone (3pm)

I’ll be at Tynecastle today for what should be a really entertaining game. Hearts have a had a terrific start to the season and sit perched at the summit of the SPFL.

They have turned Tynecastle into a fortress and Craig Levein deserves massive credit for his transfer dealings in the summer. I can’t see Hearts not scoring at least once and we are much more of an attacking threat and more than capable of scoring here,

    Recommended Bet

    Clyde to beat Berwick
Hearts v St Johnstone over 1.5 match goals
    (10-11, Betbright) (NAP)

    Preston v WBA (3pm)

I think the bookies have got this completely wrong. They have WBA priced up at 7-5 away to a Preston side who are bottom of the league and have conceded 2 or more in 7 of their 9 games this season.

Stoke, Bolton and Reading have scored 7 goals between them at Deepdale and these are clubs who are struggling. I fear for the hosts against WBA who are 3rd in the league, playing well and scoring goals.

    Recommended Bet

    WBA to beat Preston
    (6-4, BetVictor)

Brilliant Greg…I fancied the WBA away win too, but never took it. Also fancied Dundee as had a gut feeling they were going to get something eventually as they are creating plenty, and I feel Hamilton are always there for the taking…..but never took them.

    Singles:
    EDINBURGH -1 13/10
    KILMARNOCK 1/1.
    HIBS 3/4.
    BURTON 1/1.
    DONCASTER 23/20.
    LINCOLN 10/11.

    Summary:
Edinburgh’s current form very hard to resist, today’s visitors have yet to score on the road, and suffered defeats by 2+ margins against promotion chasing Peterhead and Clyde! Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park is somewhat of a fortress, and today Steve Clarke’s boys will look to kick on from their win over Celtic! Hoping this combination will edge out Motherwell, who haven’t travelled well for a lengthy period! Hibs are far from away day ‘winners’ but today face strugglers St Mirren, who have scored 1 solitary goal in last 5 games!

Burton are now showing good form, and have won their last 3 games at home, including wins over Sunderland and Doncaster . Visitors Scunny have entertained on their travels, and this should allow Burton to ‘play’! Donny’s away form has been good, and should see them net at bottom club Plymouth, who have shipped 10 goals in 3 games against top 6 six opponents! Lincoln’s resilience continues and today they may require similar fashion to overcome strugglers who have scored just once at home, but also only concede 5 on 4 home fixtures, 3 of those coming against Colchester!

Chelsea definitely looking a lot better defensively since Arsenal visited the Bridge, but Liverpool had enough chances to bag a couple of goals despite not being at their best (and Chelsea nullifying them a little, if you ask me). So not quite on the punt, but I think 1-1 was a fair result in the end.

Agreed Macca, Sarri deserves all the plaudits he is getting so far. I’m pleasantly surprised. I don’t think we have enough quality depth to break down stubborn defences yet if we were to be hit by injuries, so I think 3rd place is probably the right target. Willing to be proven wrong, though!

Yeah, some hit. Always deflating to concede to a banger you can do little about, but a draw was the fair result.

Hope some of you managed to get on.

That’s 2 winners from 2 bets this weekend and 16pts profit taken under my new 5-fold strategy.

Hadn’t posted any tips on here in 2+ years until yesterday. Now starting to think it’s been a lucky charm! Here’s hoping for a hat trick tomorrow!

Well done to all who succeeded today.

Sorry you didn’t get on but there’s always tomorrow! I’m a little sceptical of chances for three 5-fold wins on the bounce but confident in my selection process so you never know.

Half pt on the straight double Lost👎
    2pts on the h’cap double WON👍👍👍

My 2nd week of Hearts /Hibs doubles ( downed by Hearts 0-0 last week but as Wednesday proved last Saturday could easily been a 3/4/5 – 1)

    Hearts v St Johnstone
    St Mirren v Hibs

    Hearts win/Hibs>2.5 mgls 3.12/1 ❌
    Hibs win/Hearts>2.5 mgls 3.39 ✅

Hearts passed up many chances in 2nd half and almost paid to regret it but not complaint – small profit to get this routine up and running

    Other bets for me today.

    Tip – East Fife 2+ tgls 4/5 ✅ (94 min 2nd goal..!)

Quick post for the early evening SA card and I’m heading back to Brasil on the look out for a goals smash and grab…

    FIGUEIRENSE VS. GO (2030 KO):

Of the 3 early Serie B games, this one stands out a country mile – kids with me at minute so no time for full reasoning but suffice to say I’d be shocked if both teams didn’t find the net with such a colorful history between the two sides!

Quick post for the Night Owl – it’s been a cracking weekend so far and hoping to keep the heat up in Chile…

EVERTON VS. AUDAX ITALIANO (0000 KO):

Everton have been way off the pace in recent months which isn’t too far out of character for the hosts but I can’t but help notice their last 2 games as being pretty big upsets; 0-4 and 4-2 wins against 5th and 6th placed La Calera and Colo Colo have to indicate more than just fluke results.

H2H-wise, Everton also have an edge on home soil having scored 2 and 3 team goals in the last 2 games in Vina del Mar…what chance they hit a goal or two here against an Audax side who have also shown they are more than capable of finding the net?

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…6/5
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟🌟

    BTTS 1ST HALF…7/2
    (Bet365)
    🌟

    Best of luck 👍

United states for a northern night owl aussie early bird.

DC United btts a and over 2.5
    Columbus 2-3 goals
    Toronto btts

Last 5 games at home for DC have seen 17 goals with only one not seeing btts. Montreal have only failed to score in one away game. H2H would suggest a low score but I’m siding with goals.

Columbus crew v philly. Again stats suggest a low score based on head to head and with both teams next to each other could be a tight affair. Maybe 1-1 or 2-1 to the crew. 2-3 goals for me.

Toronto v new England 2 of last 5 h2h have one side draw a blank. NER haven’t been scoring or conceding too many away from home. But did score against NYCFC and LAFC in low scores. Btts for me

    Treble pays $5.79 bet 365

    Good luck
