Top Football Tips

THAT’S the Champions League semi-final line-up complete and we have two cracking ties to look forward to.

Look forward to seeing how Ajax approach the meeting with shocktroops Spurs while Barcelona v Liverpool could be sensational.

As usual for me it’s about Lionel Messi – stop him and you stop Barca. Will Virgil van Dijk an Co be up to the task? They certainly blew away Porto in fine style.

On my Champions League preview I tipped Raheem Sterling to score first for Man City at 9-2 and it was my Super Single in the Daily Record.

I also tipped Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to score first on Tuesday so going for four in a row with Eden Hazard for Chelsea tonight at 3-1 with McBookie.

My Top Treble was beaten by PSG flopping again with Lazio and City winning. Barcelona are now 13-8 Champions League favourites ahead of Liverpool with Spurs 4-1 and Ajax 5-1 outsiders.

City's quad dream is over and they'll now be able to focus on winning the league with their next two games crucial. Spurs return to the Etihad on Saturday and then they face Man United.

Well done to all of Wednesday's winners including Grant Heaney with three out of four tips on his Man City vs Spurs preview.

Now we move on the Europa LeagueChelsea entertain Slavia Prague with a 1-0 lead and there should be no dramas here. The Blues are just 1-3 with McBookie to win.

Arsenal’s away record is terrible but if they score at Napoli the Italians will need four – and that’s asking too much.

The Gunners face a side with only defeat at home all season and Napoli can win this at 7-10 with Marathonbet. However, I’m going with both teams score at 8-13 at McBookie and the away goal could be crucial.

Looking for first scorer in this one? I’m not as confident but consider Dries Mertens at 5-2 with BetVictor. Kevinmac has posted a preview here.

Elsewhere back Eintracht to beat Benfica at home – they trail 4-2 – at  5-6 with bet365 and take Valencia to complete the job against Valencia at 4-5 with bet365. I need Eintracht to qualify to bring up last week's treble.

For me the Chelsea and Valencia ties are over so tonight I'm simply going with a goals double at Napoli and Eintracht with the home men  needing to chase it and the away sides capable of scoring.

Remember to check welovebetting for their latest tips and video chat.

Interesting games indeed mr f,i think Liverpool will come through over the two legs, they have Messi but defensively they are a shambles. You can get 10/3 on Liverpool to win away and i can’t see why they can’t win there,Spurs v Ajax looks a cracker.I said Man City weren’t good enough defensively to won this comp.

Not a chance lol,i beg to differ,i reckon Liverpool will destroy them personally,Barca will not relish playing us one bit,to say not a chance is very Naive mate indeed.Right now Liverpool are probably the best side in Europe and very strong defensively,Messi is the best player in the world but even he can’t beat a strong side on his own.For me we the tie will be won at Anfield with Liverpool either winning away or drawing,Barca’s defence won’t cope with our front three.Liverpool are a lot more organised than Man Utd,it is a game where Liverpool could run riot.

As I said it could be down to Messi. If he’s at his absolute best he can’t be stopped.
Son banned for Spurs for first leg which is a blow with Kane injured.

“Destroy” lol, I remember you had the same views for the final against Madrid last season, look how that turned out.

I do fancy Liverpool to win it this year, though I’d rather they didn’t for everyone’s sake.

Neither can our front three.Liverpool in another final for me and that’s not red tinted specs.

We know you have red-tinted specs and that’s fine but to say Liverpool will destroy them will be debated.
For me it’s a 50-50 call and the side who wins will need their big players to be at their best – and have VAR on their side!

Haha you can’t call a game like that macca it’s literally who turns up and wants it more on the day. Barca are favourites for this comp and rightly so. They pissed on my lads and didn’t even seem to get out of 2nd gear. Will be a very good game that’s for sure.

Macca is what he is – a big Liverpool fan.
Your comment was nasty and personal – how about a different wording.
I don’t agree with some of things he says but there’s a way to respond.

    • Avatar of Sean Campbell

I agree with macca- I think they will take care of Barca over 2 legs. I can’t see them however “destroying” them, but it depends which Barca turn up at Anfield. If it’s the one that usually toils in England then Liverpool should win straightforwardly, if it’s the Barca that turned up at Wembley earlier this year and wiped the floor with spurs then we have a heck of a game on our hands

Aside from the CL corners bet, – far too busy scoring bonkers amounts of goals – a tidy night 😀

One stand-out Nordic game this evening in the form of an Icelandic Cup offering and it’s one the goal gods may well be smiling down on…

    FRAM VS. ÝMIR (8.00pm):

Quality mismatch here with Fram – a handy 1 Dield and former Urvalsdeild side – taking on Ymir from the 5th tier of Icelandic football.

    Two selections worth a look:

Fram highest scoring half = 2nd half
    (10/11, bet365) 2 Points ✅✅

    Over 5.5 match goals
    (13/8, bet365) 1 Point ✅

    Final.score 6-0 👍

GENERAL DÍAZ VS. SOL DE AMÉRICA (11.15pm):

Two sides battling it out at the bottom but SDA in particular aren’t a bad side who play free-flowing attacking football – just wonder if goals might be on the cards and there’s been a few ding-dongs between the two – all around this stage of the Apertura campaigns in recent seasons!

    Over 3.5 match goals
    (6/4, bet365) 2 Points ✅✅

    Btts 1st half
    (11/4, bet365) 1 Point…missed by 4 minutes!

    Currently 1-4 after 69 minutes 👍

    Well done all winners.

One for anyone still on the dancefloor at this late hour:

RIVER PLATE VS. ARGENTINO MERLO (1.10am):

Copa Argentina 1st round and the goals-radar is pinging loud and clear here – massive differential in quality and standing although Merlo do carry plenty of threat at their own level so happy if they chip in but it ought to be a rout with RP’s next game nearly a full week away against Chilean side Palestiono in the Copa Lib:

River Plate over 3.5 team goals
    (13/8, bet365)

    Best of luck 👍

I went on a bit of a roll this last 2 nights and I never posted because my tips have been a bit off lately.
Day 1 I managed to turn my start pot of £10 into £77, but last night it came crashing down.
I picked Lazio -1, Man City -1 and Porto no clean sheet. A dubious Tottenham goal given slightly sunk it, but the real kicker was the injurytime offside goal. Shame, I could of done with the £311. Oh well.
I started off again tonight with an overs corners bet with Santos in the Brazillian cup and again the -1 h/c. Bet365 were kind enough to give me a free £5 bet token. I added £10 of my own and just logging in now, I’ve seen Santos won 2 nil and the corners component sailed in. I’m up to £44.50.
Tomorrows action will be courtesy of Chelsea -1 and Arsenal double result. Pays 3.2/1 via bet365.

    Good luck guys.

    Thursdays goals tips
Pretty straightforward today, With not a lot of games I can see these being popular choices

Sydney o1.5tgs evens bet 365 NAP
Glory have already claimed top spot for the league campaign, and Sydney still have a fight to make the top 2 for the playoff section of the season so I reckon they will want this more. They’ve managed 5 in their last 2 home games against shanghai and Melbourne victory so are in a bit of form atm at home. Perth glory are not great travellers to Sydney and have conceded 19 goals there on their last 5 visits

    Over 1.5tgs
    Napoli
    Frankfurt
    Chelsea
    Valencia
    59/10 bet 365 NB

    Moneyback wdw acca
    Napoli/ Sydney/ Chelsea/ Frankfurt/ Valencia
    13/1 ladbrokes

Like a lot of folk I suspect, I can’t see past 4 home wins in the EL.

Where on page 46 does it say pending suspensions are wiped after Quarter Finals? It says yellow cards and suspensions wiped after play offs but only yellow Cards are wiped after Quarter Finals not pending suspensions:

Exceptionally, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions expire on
completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the group stage. In
addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not
      carried forward to the semi-finals.

So my reading of that is pending suspensions do carry forward apart from at Play Off stage.

I feel the market is underestimating arsenal somewhat

Arsenal are capable of playing some of the best counter attacking football in europe and Napoli need to chase this game …..arsenal have 2 deadly finishers in laca & aubamayang , capable playmakers in ozil & mikhtaryan and torreria and xhaka to hold midfield

This Napoli side is good but is it that good ? for me they lack a dedicated finisher something higuain used to do very well for them

Insigne & mertens are class players but with both of them standing at 5ft nothing they are only capable of scoring certain types of goals and are providers more than finishers

without Hamsik their midfield looks very average

they’re defence is pretty good but arsenal took it to pieces at the emirates and should of scored 5

Napoli’s home form speaks for itself but I feel arsenal pose significant threat to it and the prices available are very tempting

    Arsenal win @ 7/2

    Arsenal double chance @ 5/4

Arsenal to score and not to lose @ 6/4 ( b365 bet builder)

    Hi all

What’s the main reason the majority don’t think Arsenal will win tonight ?

Other then them just being away ?

    Cheers

Napoli’s home record vrs Arsenal away record and the fact Napoli need to win by at least 2 goals. Home win seems likely as supported by the current 3/4 odds on a home win.

Napoli have won 16 out of 22 at home this season with just 1 loss while they have already beaten Liverpool and Salzburg at home in Europe this season.

Arsenal have lost 7 of their last 12 away matches and have already lost at BATE and Rennes in the Europa League.

Still, Napoli are not as strong as they were in recent season and given that RBL won 3.1 in Naples last season, we shouldn’t rule out the Gunners on the night.

A 2.1 or 3.1 home win looks the likeliest outcome for my money but BTTS @4/7 looks the safe call given the quality of Arsenal’s attack.

      no problem.

Should be goals in at least 3 of the 4 matches while Slavia P are decent on the road. All 8 to score pays about 8/1.

By the way I put up a Super Single shortlist and invite comments – I’m quite happy to be given a reason not to back a team. Swansea were on that list and also they were well tipped against a side on a horrendous run.

    Eerste divisie – Friday

Two bets on Friday with all 4 teams still able to reach or get a better position in the play-offs.

    Cambuur v Eindhoven

Both teams have all to play for as place 11 will get you in the play-offs as it stands. Eindhoven saw BTTS in their last 6 games with 4 going over. Cambuur scored 12 goals in their last 3 games with the last 3 going over 2.5

    Over 2.75 asian goals @ 1.78

    Almere v Telstar

Almere can still finish in 5th place which will give them 2 games less in the play-offs. They are on a 5 game winning streak and scored at least 3 goals in their last 3 home games. With 4 games to go Telstar can get in the play-offs by winning the 4th period. They have been in some high scoring games lately with 3-4, 2-3, 4-2 wins in their last 5 games.

    Over 2.75 asian goals @ 1.83
