MRF TopTips Generic Ozil

CELTIC'S lead at the top of the Premiership looks too big now … and bookies agree.

Neil Lennon's men hammered Hearts as expected and with Rangers going down 2-1 at Kilmarnock there is a 10-point gap between the Glasgow rivals.

Rangers could argue it's seven if they win their game in hand but Celtic could say it's eight with a vastly superior goal difference.

The sides went into the winter break pretty much neck-and-neck but the Ibrox men have shed eight points in five games while Celtic have won them all pretty convincingly.

Celtic are now a biggest 1-8 with Ladbrokes to make it nine in a row while Rangers are 5-1.

Wednesday was frustrating for me with two out of three on three trebles. It was a toss-up between btts or over 2.5 goals at Hibs and I went with the former at a bigger price. Greg's nap was over 2.5 goals so well done there and to Scott for his members bet win after a couple of losers.

Derby losing beat the English treble and a lack of action at Lyon did the goals treble. Plenty of people fancied Inter to beat Napoli in the Cup but my Super Single choice went down 1-0 at home.

I wsn't far away from a good night but in the end it was a poor one – and in hindsight I should have stuck big handicap bets on Celtic who I said would rout a poor Hearts side.

Well done to all the winners and there were plenty of good ones.

On Thursday it's all about cup games with Real Sociedad just 1-3 to beat lower-league but high-scoring shocktroops Mirandes in the Spanish Cup semis first leg while the big game is Milan v Juventus as they fight for a place in the Final. It's billed as Ibrahimovic v Ronaldo and could have plenty of goals.

In France it's Epinal v St Etienne and there are two ties in Holland including Heerenveen v Feyenoord.

I've not had too much time to do research but happy to risk 1pt on a goals treble.

Just seen goal highlights from st Johnstone and Livingston games on sky.
Is there a reason why there are almost no fans in the stadiums ?.
    Crowd trouble ?.
    Fans boycott ?
    Adverse weather ?
    Corona virus ?

The plastic seats are very colourful but surely they are intended for people to sit in them.
    Looks odd on TV.

The bigger picture tells a story, both sides hail from locations with a combined population of roughly 100,000. Add to the following of either Celtic and Rangers in these towns and it limits support base. To put that into perspective small English clubs from towns like Barnsley has 250,000 residents….. Only Celtic n Rangers sellout every week and half empty grounds are common place up here unless the Old Firm are in town.

But don’t be fooled by that, Scottish football has the highest attendance rate in Europe per head of population 👍

Apologies 👍 online stats obviously 😂 but you get the picture here. Scottish clubs hail from very small locations in a small country. There’s only Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee have 100,000+ population with only 1 of those cities being a 1 club city. English clubs have a far bigger population too attract a fan base

They get about as many people as Chesterfield in the National league which is about the same size town and has plenty of competition for fans from Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Leeds etc. and don.t get the crowd boost from a few of big firm visits so I think there must be other reasons, maybe most fans are only bothered about Celtic or Rangers for historic sectarian reasons.( Plainly there are plenty of exceptions so apologies to Mr F, Greg and the rest.)

    • Avatar of Brian Hendry
      mr h 5 years ago

100% wrong on the sectarian shout. I’m not denying the obvious sectarian element up here but to say ‘maybe most fans’ are only bothered about either club for that reason is poor. The vast majority of fans from both clubs are there for the team first & foremost and nothing to do with religious beliefs. You’re no a Sky Sports translator are ye 👀😂

St Johnstone are a small club punching above their weight and due to location don’t have a big fanbase.
Livingston are a relatively new club so no history really. They were Meadowbank Thistle who played at the athetics stadium in Edinburgh.
When they moved most of their fans didn’t go with them.
Saints and Livi perform remarkably well on their budgets – the likes of Dundee Utd, Dundee, Dunfermline and Falkirk are much bigger clubs in lower leagues.

We certainly aren’t blowing teams away like we used to. Some may argue that the only reason we’re so far ahead is because Man City have already lost 6 games, but let’s say they only lost a more realistic amount of 2, we’d still be 10 points in front. No one can deny how phenomenal we have been this season.

    🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Premiership bottom 6 market 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Livingstone are currently 1/7 to finish in the top 6. They are 5 points ahead of Kilmarnock and 7 ahead of St Johnstone.

Looking a their up and coming matches you’ll be lucky if they pick up any points at all from their next 5 games

    Rangers (a)
    Hibs (a)
    Celtic (h)
    St Johnstone (a)
    Hearts (h)

Livi’s good work this season is done on their plastic pitch and people can argue all they like but it is a massive advantage to them.

On the road however they are hopeless and with three of their next 4 on road and Celtic at home. I really can’t see where they are going to pick up points from.

I really fancy either Killie or St Johnstone to catch them

Livingston to finish in the bottom half is 4/1 – definitely worth a punt

If Liverpool are planning for Gerrard to replace Klopp they’ll take him silverware or not.
He started off miles behind Celtic and looked like he’d closed the gap until recent weeks.
At Liverpool he’ll have more money and better players and the added experience of managing Rangers.

    • Avatar of Sean Campbell
      sean567 5 years ago

Damn right they would mr fixit hes pretty much the biggest hero in the past 25 years. my point above to Alex was that if he’s not winning trophies at rangers there’s absolutely no way he’ll get to 2024 when both managers contracts end. Only 1 manager in history has survived 2 trophy less seasons as manager of Celtic/rangers and even then he was gone right at the start of the 3rd. After spending over £20million in 2 seasons plus bringing in free transfers like arfield, mcgregor and Defoe all with massive epl experience if Celtic walk away with back to back trebles there’s every chance he’ll be sacked, improvement in the team or not. As you well know, in Glasgow 1st is 1st, 2nd is nowhere. He’s closed the gap in one off games against Celtic, but raising your game against the big boys is easy, it’s churning it out week after week that wins you trophies.

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

I’d be surprised if he’s sacked. He’s brought a lot to Rangers off the field and as long as he progresses them he’ll be fine.
The problem comes if anyone other than Celtic win a trophy and that will make him look worse.

Hi everyone hope all is well even though today is a small card sometimes it pays off because less games to go at I only normally do over 2.5 mg trebles so I’m sticking to the overs tonight it’s going to be a five fold though as I think all games have good chance and it’s going be 2 points for a decent number if it comes up trumps so here go’s with little write up Im off work tomoz and Monday suppose I’ll treat Mrs to a bunch of 3 quidders and watherspoons beer and burger unless I win which I’ll upgrade it to the 18 pound valentines meal 😂😂

Ga eagles v Utrecht (5.30 Holland)

Early game both these teams love to score goals aswell as concede. Utrecht are is some really good form in league scoring 12 goals but conceding 7 in last 5 Ga eagles are in great form to and can definitely score a goal against a team in the league above I do think Utrecht will be to strong though and should win and in previous rounds of this Cup both have seen plenty of goals including GA beating twente away 5 2.

    Heerenveen v feyenoord ( 7.45 Holland)

Not going to say to much about these two teams apart from the last 5 games between these two have seen 22 goals and 25 when played at Heerenveen. plus 6/ 7 Heerenveen games and 7 /7 feyenoord games played in all comps have been over 2.5

    Antwerp v Genk (belguim 7.30)

These 2 have played each other home and away in last few years 11 out of 16 have been overs and when genk have gone to Antwerp 6/8 have been overs so big history of goals Antwerp are solid at home wel genk have conceded over 20 goals in 8 to 9 away games

    Vinto v blooming (Bolivia 7pm)

New to the Bolivian league Vinto reads played two home matches won two while blooming away in two games have scored 3 and conceded 4 for some reason the Bolivian league always favours the home teams and blooming matches in previous games have been overs 9/9 matches while Vinto are new in this league I think we could see goals tonight and its worth taking on

    J wilstermann v sant cruz (12.00am Bolivia)

Last but not least these two full history sees every game going overs. J wilster have started well winning the first two home game santa cruz have not started two well Amd got thumped 6 nothing at always ready last week away aswell as losing to real potasi game before scoring 2 but conceding 9 in 3 games like a said home teams have big advantage in this league but aswell they have scored 6 and conceded 12 in last 5 so we should see goals again and this could be the finish we want for a nice win.

All games over 2.5 at about 7 8 /1 for the more sensible or strict maybe have a look and pick a double or treble I’m doing the 5 games for two points and my points are only small good luck if anybody follows I’m not a tipster just enjoy adding my input lol 👍

    Norwich v Liverpool
    Over 3.5 goal at 13/10*****(NAP)
    Over 4.5 goals at 3/1
    Over 4.5 goals at 6/1
Reduced stakes for now until i see the team Klopp puts out, should be full team as they are well rested and Sadio Mane will also start.I will be taking the full totals on the first half goals market also.I’m not normally a stats man as they can be misleading but if there is ever a game in the EPL then this is the game you want for goals, both sides seem to bring the best out of each other and it’s been like this every time they meet.
    Best of luck

How is it you decide your goals bet macca if you don’t usually do stats, is it just off watching their recent games? matching both teams together? Just interested mate that’s all 👍

    • Avatar of mark edley

I watch a lot of football and have been following the top flight all my life, this makes it a lot easier to call games as you pretty much know how teams are going to play against each other before a ball is kicked.I also look at who’s scoring and who’s conceding obviously, chances created chances taken etc etc which are stats but not past results.

    • Avatar of Mr Fixit
      Mr Fixit 5 years ago

You don’t look at past games but the three Premier League meetings have produced 19 goals – a stat that will be in my Saturday write-up.

    Spanish cup.
    8pm.
    Real sociadad v mirandes
    Mirandes to score 10-11 (befred).

Btts is EVENS so ridiculous risking that for a fraction more.

Stats have probably been covered above.
Mirandes scored In last 10 away games, scoring 2 in 9 of them.
Beat 3 la liga clubs scoring 2+ in each albeit these were at home.
Scored 3 at Cadiz in the league which is remarkable given Cadiz are as tight as a crabs ringpiece at home generally.

Sociadad conceded in 8 of last 10 homes.

It’s all about attitude as its a 2 leg affair.
If mirandes change their attacking policy and think about the 2nd leg and play for a draw they will lose 1 or 2-0..
If away goals count that will be better but I don’t know to be honest.

If this was a one off game I would be very confident in this and would double my stake but will stick to my daily stake.

    Bolivian League, 19.00

    Vinto v Blooming

I’ll be on Purple Ronnie’s boys tonight. It’s been said before there’s a lot of different altitudes in the Bolivian League which normally ends up in the home teams getting a good advantage. Looking at the teams respective games at home and away, Vinto although recently promoted have a fantastic home record, Blooming away from home not so. At 10/11, I’m on the home side to do the job here. So crack open a Vimto and cheer on the boys!

    Fridays goals tips
    Been a no bet day for me today so I’ve been looking ahead to tomorrow. 4 games of interest for me where 2 of my favourite teams over the past couple of years are in action. Games are;
    Adelaide v CCM
    Qatar SC v Al Sadd
    Salzburg v LASK
    Dortmund v Frankfurt

Starting off in oz and that’s where the NAP comes from. Adelaide have been in great form the past few weeks for a goal getter- there’s been 14 goals in there last 3 matches with them netting 8. I mentioned last week that there last 3 matches have all seen both teams to score/over 2.5mgs/ and 6+ Adelaide corners and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the same again. Playing it slightly safer with the NAP and going for a slight variation of the above for a higher odds bet. Advised tips
    Adelaide win
    Adelaide o1.5tgs
    Adelaide over 4.5 corners
    5/6 bet 365 NAP

    Adelaide win
    Over 2.5mgs
    Adelaide o6.5 corners
    21/10 bet 365

The other 3 matches I’ve highlighted should hopefully be really good for goals. Unfortunately there’s no markets up as of yet for the QSL cup game but I fancy an over 2.5mgs treble and this will be my NB. It’s currently 28/25 for the German/Austrian double if that suits you just for that. I reckon all 6 teams will find the net in theses games and a smaller stakes btts/over 2.5mgs treble also appeals. Once markets appear for Qatar v al sadd I’ll get prices/bets up.

It is indeed macca. Daka and hwang will still provide them with a major threat domestically tho, plus I wouldn’t rule out LASK bagging a couple themselves. Going for mgs so I have both teams working for me.
