A ROUND of Euro 2020 double headers starts with nine ties on Thursday – and in more than half there are short-priced favourites.

Tightest game could be Republic of Ireland v Switzerland and kevinmac has posted a separate match preview here.

Best match on paper is the Group F fight between leaders Spain and third-placed Romania.

The Spanish have started with four wins from four and 11 goals while Romania's victories have been against Malta and Faroes.

Bookies make the favourites 9-20 with bet365 for an away win and while it's a little short I can't back against them.

Could be plenty of goals though and the home men are capable of hitting the target. Consider Spain and over 2.5 goals at 23-20 with Ladbrokes.

Sweden lie second on the same points as Romania and as they're as short as 2-11 away to the Faroes it could be again worth backing the away and over 2.5 at 5-6 with Paddy Power. The islanders have conceded three a game in their four defeats.

Norway tackle Malta at home in the other match and again finding value is the challenge as they are no bigger than 1-16. Malta's only goals have been against Faroes so Norway should win to nil but it pays just 2-9 at Coral.

Italy have also made a flying start in Group J with four wins and 13 goals and should add a fifth against world No.98 Armenia. Again they're short at a best 1-4 so again there's no value – possibly look at Italy -1 at 3-4 with sportingbet.

It's a case of how many for Bosnia at home to Liechtenstein – they are 4-5 to win by four or more.

Finland can take a massive step to finishing second by beating Greece at home. The Finns, with three wins in four, are 6-5 with bet365 against a nation with just four points in four games.

Teemu Pukki, Premier League Player of the Month after five goals in his first three games, will be full of confidence as he leads the line and the Norwich striker is 21-10 at Ladbrokes to score and 5-1 at Betway to break the deadlock.

In Group D two unbeaten sides, Ireland and Switzerland, meet in Dublin and it's a tough one to call. The draw appeals at 58-25 at Marathonbet and I also like under 2.5 goals but it pays 1-2 with Betway and that tells its own story.

The other game sees Gibraltar at home to Denmark who are no bigger than 1-33. Gibraltar have lost three, conceded six and scored none so the Danes to win to nil at 1-4 with Coral or Denmark -2 at 7-20 with Betway so little value there.

Israel v North Macedonia is the final game of the night in a tight Group G. Just three points separate second and fifth as nations line up to finish second behind 100 per cent leaders Poland. Three out of four meetings between the sides have gone to Israel and I fancy them again at 5-6 with bet365.
