The Edinburgh Derby is match of the weekend in Scotland and KevMac takes a closer look at the capital clash as well as the pick of the bets elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership.
Hearts v Hibernian
THERE’S more than just bragging rights up for grabs in tomorrow’s Edinburgh derby with top spot in the Premiership also at stake.
Only goal difference is keeping Hibs ahead of Hearts ahead of their trip across the city to Tynecastle and it’s one of the most eagerly anticipated derbies in years.
Both teams have been scoring freely but it was a similar story ahead of the Old Firm clash and that ended up being settled by a single strike, busting my coupon.
So I’m going to back a cagey game tomorrow with under 2.5 goals paying a best 11/14 with SBK which is decent for accumulators.
That’s not a great price but a one-goal winning margin for either side is better at 6/5 with McBookie while the half-time draw pays 19/17 at SBK.
The last three derbies have all seen five cards or more and I’d expect this one to be fiery as well with the fans back.
The bookies hadn’t priced up cards markets as we went to print but McBookie were offering some interesting prices on players having a shot on target.
Hibs midfielder Kyle Magennis has scored four times this term and that makes him great value at 14/5 just to have a shot on target at Tynecastle.
St Johnstone v Rangers
Rangers face a tricky game in Perth today but their task has been made easier by St Johnstone selling their best two players on transfer deadline day.

Skipper Jason Kerr and star midfielder Ali McCann will be a big miss so it’s easy to see why the champions are McBookie’s 4/9 hot favourites. The last two meetings have ended in 1-1 draws but Gers won to nil in the three clashes before that and a repeat today pays 13/10 at Betfred.
Celtic v Ross County
Celtic lost 1-0 at Ibrox before the international break and now look to get back on track at home to Ross County.
The Hoops have been blowing teams away at Parkhead under Ange Postecoglou, hitting six past Dundee and St Mirren, so it’s a daunting task for the Staggies.
With players coming back from gruelling international games and Postecoglou bleeding in more new signings, there might not be as many goals today.

But Celtic have scored in the first half of all their home domestic games so I fancy them to win both halves at 5/4 with Mansionbet.
David Turnbull has been in scoring form at home, netting five times, so he looks the best shout for anytime scorer at 7/4 with SportNation.
Motherwell v Aberdeen
Aberdeen needed the international break after hitting a slump and face a tough game at Motherwell. BTTS looks the shout here at 21/20 with Mansionbet.
I tipped St Mirren for a top-six slot but they have yet to win a game. Dundee United come calling today and I fancy the Buddies at 11/8 with McBookie.
The other Premiership clash sees Dundee host Livingston and Leigh Griffiths is 9/5 at Paddy Power for a debut goal.
Super Singles
- Half-time draw at Tynecastle (19/17, SBK)
- Kyle Magennis to have a shot on target (14/5, McBookie)
- Celtic to win both halves against Ross County (5/4, Mansionbet)
Paddy’s have McGinn to be booked at 3/1….for a guy with a decent record of getting booked that looks a good bet
Yes, that was a good price. Unfortunately, the ref was letting most tackles go. Made for a better game to watch but not so good if you had a card bet on. Thankfully, my half-time bet and Magennis tip came up
