TURKEY impressed in their recent friendly against England and should give much-fancied Croatia a good game.
These nations are two of the tournament “dark horses” although it's Croatia with stars such as Mario Manduzkic, Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic who are more fancied.
In his previous spell in charge Fatih Terim led the Turks to the semi-finals of Euro 2008 and the England defeat is their only loss in 16 outings.
Barcelona's Arda Turan is their star man but they may be over-reliant on Buruk Yilmaz for goals.
It's not the easiest game to call but Croatia look the better time and I'm taking them at 6-5 with McBookie and Ladbrokes to edge this one. Turkey are 11-4 with Ladbrokes and bet365 and the draw pays 23-10 at various firms.
Eight of Turkey's last 16 games have gone over 2.5 goals and they've netted in 15 of their last 16 so I'm happy to consider both teams to score at 11-10 with Paddy Power. Croatia conceded in all four of their qualifiers against stronger teams.
Juventus ace Mandzukic has 24 goals for his country and leads the line superbly. Take him at 11-2 with William Hill to score first and 11-5 at Stan James to net at any time.
