On a busy day of racing on Wednesday, Cairnzy and Rizzel have selected two horses each for Wednesday's Lucky 15 bet.
As usual, let us know in the comment section who you fancy for Wednesday's racing.
Cairnzy's Tips
Zero Carbon 10/1 – Kempton 6.30
The horse that looks overpriced in this contest is Zero Carbon, who tends to run well at Kempton, recording three wins and two place efforts from six outings at the track. He is also a consistent sort over C&D with form figures of 112413, which makes him a big player in his current form. His form has taken a slight knock but a return to Kempton with blinkers applied could see him bounce back to form. My selection tends to be prominent during his races and if getting an uncontested lead, he could be hard nut to crack when they turn for home.
Chocolate Hobbnob 12/1 – Kempton 9.00
This is a bit of a blind dart selection and I'm probably barking up the wrong tree with it but I felt the Ian Williams trained Chocolate Hobbnob was of slight interest at the prices. Originally trained by Amanda Perrett, Choclate Hobbnob switched hands to Ian Williams in June of this year. His first three outings he's shown nothing, beaten a whopping 139L in total between his three runs, but they were over distances too short. He goes back up in trip to 2m for this contest, which is the distance he showed some ability over when contesting in bumpers under trainer Amanda Perrett.
Rizzel's Tips
Forest Hills 3/1 – Salisbury 4.00
Oisin Murphy operates at a 19% SR when riding for Rod Millman in the last five years and he was on board Forest Hills last time out when going off as 5/2F. He has started to become a frustrating horse to follow as he clearly has the ability to win races, but for whatever reason it hasn't clicked for him just yet.
Oisin retains the ride, and I think it could be worth giving him a try now he has the blinkers to potentially help him focus a little better when the going gets tough. He has some good form from his previous runs this season, especially his third-placed effort at Newbury behind Laura Bay. The winner, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and tenth-placed horses have all won since, with some of them running off a fair bit higher handicaps marks, yet Forest Hills was very competitive in that race in third, so that shows the ability this horse has.
The Millman yard is going through a bit of a tough time, but it looks worse than the facts state. He has had seven horses finish as runner-up in the last fourteen days, so I don't think you can his horses are out of form.
Highland Bling 9/4 – Gowran Park 7.20
If Satin had a run under his belt I think I'd be all over backing him for this race, but with no run for 306 days and with him having an entry for the Ebor, which looks like he will get in that race by the skin of his teeth, I think this could be a prep run for the York race and with that said I though Jessica Harrington's other runner, Highland Bling had a nice chance.
I wouldn't read too much into Shane Foley riding Satin as Highland Bling is below Shane's lowest riding weight in the last 12 months, so that is why Keithen Kennedy is on board, and if anything the 7lb claim he brings to the table makes it an even better opportunity for him to land the spoils. with the claim, it puts Highland Bling onto a racing weight of 8st, with the nearest horse being 11lbs higher than him, and then the other three are carrying 9st 7lbs, 10st 1lbs and 10st 5lbs, so this looks like a great bit of placing by Jessie, especially with the young jockey on board.
Highland Bling nearly managed to with a handicap at the Galway festival last time out, and from the looks of it, that race looks like it might chuck up a fair few winners. The winner looks to be on a decent mark, and the third-placed horse was well-fancied in the market and travelled extremely well. Obviously, Highland Bling is against some better calibre of horses, but they have strange profiles. The top weight is getting on in age and is very inconsistent, as well as the yard is very out of form. Then you have two horses better known for their exploits over the jumps, who are interesting in this race, but I thought the 3-year-old Highland Bling could have more to offer.
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
