Unfortunately, it was a below par day for Rizz on Monday with neither of his selections running to what was expected.

King William Rufus went closest to winning from his two selections, leading as they approached two out but was railed in quite easily by the winner Kabral Du Mathan who looks another decent sort from the Paul Nicholls yard.

Shantou Express seemingly was the more disappointing of the two selections. He was sent of a strong 6/4 favourite for Kim Bailey, but found little when push came to shove.

Cairnzy's Tips

Imperial Bede 11/2 – 1.05 Southwell

I think the Jasmin De Grugy and Imperial Bede are the two horses to focus on in this contest and notably are both owned by the same owner in John P Mcmanus.

I've opted to take on his shorter priced runner and current market leader Jasmin De Grugy, which could prove a risky decision but at the prices I thought Imperial Bede was a good bet.

Jasmin De Grugy, the market leader at 11/10, has strong claims based on her impressive hurdle performances last season. She arrives today aiming for a fourth consecutive win, having comfortably won three hurdle races earlier this year in May. However, she faces the challenge of transferring that hurdles form to fences, which raises some doubts. Additionally, she has been off the track for around six months, so her race fitness has to be taken on trust.

Imperial Bede looked a worthy alternative in my opinion and he showed a glimpse of a return to form when filling the places at Wetherby three weeks ago. My selection was soundly beaten by just over 11L to the Twiston-Davies-trained Tedley who has progressed well this season with two wins and a second behind Beau Balko, who Rizz tipped up to win on the day. Imperial Bede was never getting to Tedley on that occasion, however, if it wasn't for a peck on landing when mounting a challenge I think the losing distance would have been a fair bit less.

My selection looks reasonably well handicapped with a mark of 110, which is 6lb lower when winning over this same C&D back in February. With a recent run under the belt, I think he could run a big race at more attractive odds.

Solar System 13/8 – Southwell 1.40

For my second selection on Tuesday, I'm going for another Mcmanus-trained horse in Solar System, who looks to have a strong chance in following up from his recent victory at Warick last week.

There are some other nice enough types in this contest at more attractive prices and Harry Derhams The Blueberry One was one that I was initially tempted by at the prices.

After a bit of chopping and changing, I finally decided to take the market leader as my final selection, as I found it hard to look past his chances on paper.

Notably, both jockey and trainer are in great form this month, notably trainer Phillip Hobbs who for the month of November is operating at roughly 25%.

I caught a quick replay of my selections most recent outing at Warwick, which saw him prevail by just under 2L. I have to say, I was quite impressed with how Solar System went about his business during that contest. He looked outpaced at one point but he responded well to Callum Prichards urgings and made up some nice headway into the straight before hitting the front. Due to the conditions of that contest, Solar System is able to run off the same mark of 103 and with Callum Prichard able to claim his full 7lb rather than 5lb he did before, that makes my selection even better handicapped this time around.

Moonbow 13/2 EW – Sedgefield 3.30

I wasn't planning on putting three selections up, it's only Tuesday racing after all.. But I thought Moonbow was worth a small eachway play at 13/2.

This will be a small enough write up as I have very little to go on with this being a National Hunt Flat race filled with mainly new-comers.

Moonbow was bought for £20,000 by Patrick Neville and made a pleasing start to his racing career when winning a p2p by just over 2L. Moonbow is a nicely bred type by Spanish Moon and with race experience on his side I think he could run a big race at a decent price. Patrick Neville has also booked jockey Gavin Sheehan for the ride which is an eye-catching jockey booking in its own right.
