Michaela’s Boy broke okay, but not as good as well as Carinzy would have liked.

He tracked the front three but came under pressure and found very little. His price drifted from 4/1 out to 10s but was backed back in before the off, so it was surprising to see such a poor performance.

The Willie Mullins runner jumped to an average level, but the race was chaotic with a runner jumping across the field at an obstacle. The interference didn’t really have an effect on Cairnzy's selection as the race was eventually won by a 40/1 outsider

Arisaig 10/3 (1pt) – Pontefract 2.48

Looking through the form of each individual horse, I came to the conclusion that this was a much easier assignment for Arisaig than her previous races.

Unlike the colts/geldings, the mares/filly races like this can throw up some strange results, so I wouldn't be overconfident in her getting the job done. To add to this, Jamie Spencer is in the saddle, and he did me no favours on Kylian on Sunday.

From stall 11, it'll mean that she will be ridden cold from the rear, so the main issue will be whether she'll be able to find the gaps or not get too far back if the front runners build up a lead.

Karnaval Point 2/1 (1pt) – Uttoxeter 2.30

With not a great deal of good racing on the flat on Tuesday, Uttoxeter is the place for my second and final selection of the day.

From what I can see, this race looks set up for an improver like Karnaval Point. David Pipe's horse is lightly raced for the yard and has shown a good level of form from just two chase starts. It's not a bulletproof form line, but when you compare it to the others in this race, it probably rates as the best on offer.

Despite being a six-year-old, Karnaval Point has got 17 chase runs under his belt; he's not lightly raced as a horse, but is for the yard. Given he won on his stable debut and was running on at the finish, Pipe could easily find a little bit extra from him.

The step-up trip is worth a try. He's not guaranteed to stay the trip, and when I've thought that horses would be suited for the step up, they've not always seen the trip out. As a result, it's going to be a 1-point win, with that question mark lingering.
