IT was also about the Grand National yesterday and the famous old race lived up to its billing.

And the result went down in history as Tiger Roll became the first horse since Red Rum to win two in a row.

My two greys gave it a good go and are stayers but the ground dried out too much for them. In the end Tiger Roll was brilliant and I never thought I'd see another Red Rum in my lifetime.

Been celebrating the Aintree occasion so no tips today but I'll be back tomorrow and already looking forward to a big weekend with the Scottish Grand National at Ayr.

Well done to everyone who backed Tiger Roll yesterday and feel free to post your own tips for today with meetings at Fairyhouse, Ffos Las, Cork and Plumpton.

Great to see that hibee1 has posted again, I missed his tip having posted my (losing) selections before heading out to football. Looking forward to his next post.

445fl – LAC SACRE has PU on his last two outings, this is enough to completely ignore, however he runs off 95 and has paddy brennan at the controls. he runs in class 5 for the first time in 3 years and runs off 95, his average career rating has been 111. he has visited this track numerous times so it clearly suits, his last visit in feb 18 off 102 saw him finish a neck 2nd to classy Jenny’s Surprise in a class 3 with two 120 winners behind. all this is great but obviously his most recent form does not warrant us parting with his money, especially since to place he is a very skinny 5/2, however I will be chancing him myself, the place market gives 150% more profit than the 12/1 ew so that will be advised.
    top 3 finish 0.5pts @ 11/4

410fl – Whitley Neill is not an obvious candidate for a bet, he has even gone out from 12s to 20s, and is another risky proposition and another who PU lto although does drop 3f today, being unexposed, his rating hasn’t particularly dropped either so it is even more a punt than above. he did run well last october though, beating a 140 winner and before that trouncing Darling Maltaix by 13l on his hurdles bow 1 year ago. In November he lost to Royal Claret by 1.5l when shouldering 17lbs more, he carries only 8 more today and that rival is less than half his price albeit he isn’t the market leader. With 20s available at least, he may be suitable for an extra place ew bet, but I will stick to place betting.
    top 3 finish 0.5pts @ 9/2

elsewhere in the 305, two places isn’t ideal but I will take ROCK ON ROCKY to place top 2, 0.5pts @ 2/1 and then add Cadeau Du Bresil (355p) 11/10 and have a 0.5pt double @ 5.3/1.

Don’t know about the horse but Whitley Neill is a nice gin.

switch ROCK ON ROCKY to place with him to win without both number’s 2 and 4 which is a much better 3/1 and place that in the double instead which is 7.4/1.

will give it a go, am partial to a bottle of gin, you have to be with my betting prowess.

The rhubarb and ginger one is excellent.

the dreadful staking plan continues, 7/1 kildisart counted for nothing yesterday and a 12/1 winner today we get 11/4 to place, a learning curve but a lovely 12l winner all the same.

i have said this before but those who break the best go on to win a sprint so often, if you can bet in play i strongly advise trying this, even for 50p, you will not be disappointed, it just happened again with LADY WANNABE who won nicely at 20s.

Anyone know what price 3.55 caduea du bresil @ plumpton was last night thanks

i like to take my own screen capture of the markets but didnt, oddschecker kind of helps with this but i dont particularly like it, according to them who tracked from midnight, odds on or evens from the off i think but can’t be definitive.
