I HAVE three selections today at Newbury and Newcastle on what looks like being a great day of national hunt racing.
Last week was a disappointment with some of my selections running well enough without hitting the frame.
Have a listen to the Gambla racing podcast where I run through my selections for this week in more detail:
The progressive ON THE WILD SIDE is sure to go close here on handicap debut after two impressive performances in novice hurdles this season. I think he has been given a fair handicap mark to start off with.
POTTERMAN finished 2nd by a short head to my winning selection El Presente a couple of weeks ago and gets in here off the same handicap mark despite going up 5lb in future. I can’t believe he is such a big price and although this is a better race he can go close again.
We were very unlucky with WHATMORE on his last start and although he is a shorter price today I don’t think this race is quite as strong and he is in the form of his life.
