IT was a decent day yesterday with Land Force winning although frustrating to see Urban Fox finish second.
Perhaps it was just a case of a better horse eventually finding his best trip. Probably for the best anyway or people would have had to witness me going taps aff.
I only have one selection today because there are quite a few short priced ones that I think are hard to oppose and the one that I fancied at a nice price was a non-runner at Galway. If you want to have a dabble on the short priced favs the ones I like are Mirage Dancer, Threading, Battaash and Limini. Not much value but I think two or three of those should oblige if you like a Yankee or similar.
The one that I like for a value bet is KING’S PROCTOR (Goodwood 5.15pm) for the King of Goodwood Mark Johnston and my pal Danny Tudhope on board. Johnston’s record in Goodwood handicaps is the stuff of legend and due to the presence of so many Johnston runners in the race I think this lad could be good value with first time blinkers and Danny T in the plate. Worth a small each way bet at the prices with a few firms going 4 places each way.
I’ll be back with more tomorrow on what looks like being a big day of racing across the country.
Recommended Bet
- 5.15pm Goodwood – King’s Proctor 1pt e/w (28-1, Ladbrokes, William Hill, Paddy Power, Betfair – all offering 4 places each way)
Interesting that SDS as gone to Thirsk when he could of had some good rides at Goodwood. He could be in for a good few winners today.
