THEY race at Chester again on Friday and most racing fans will have heard the tired old stories about the idiosyncratic course.
An inside draw is hugely beneficial in some races, especially sprints, but sometimes despite that fact being widely understood it can be under appreciated or undervalued.
My selection is one that I think has been overlooked slightly. SPIRIT OF THE SKY has ran reasonably well without winning since running in handicaps but over her three runs she has ended up being dropped 6lb in the handicap. That’s quite significant at this level and she now gets the added bonus of a lovely draw in stall 3. She will be happy with some cut in the ground and gets an allowance for being a 3 year old filly that will come in handy. I’m surprised to see double figure prices around and I expect her to outrun those odds.
