I didn't get the time to watch the races of the two that Cairnzy put up, and I haven't seen the replays.

He hit the crossbar with the 25/1 selection, which placed and ensured some solid profit. Cairnzy told him that he was a bit unlucky and could have won on another day.

Military Code 9/4 (1pt) – Sandown 2.42

It's a risk giving a chance to Military Code on his return to action, but the jockey bookings worked in my favour when I tipped up a Charlie Appleby horse a few weeks ago, so I'm taking that chance once more.

Billy Loughnane rides a lot more for Charlie Appleby than Oisin Murphy, so you'd like to think he is on the better chance horse. Military Code is rated lower than Worse Of Truth, and arguably has a little worse form, but it's interesting that Billy is riding this one. Military Code finished second to Tim Easterby's Revival Power in a Listed race, but stayed on strongly that day. The winner didn't cover herself in glory on her return, but she won a Group 2 in her race after the Listed victory.

Due to how well he was staying on at York, you've got to believe that Sandown is better suited to him. Sandown has a stiff finish, so if he can avoid trouble, which happens a lot on the sprint track, he has a solid chance.

Double Meaning 9/4 (1pt) – Sandown 5.07

If the ground had been a little bit softer, I would have been happy to place a bet on Personal Best. But the rain is staying away, and the current good ground will not get slower, so Double Meaning was the one I landed on.

I'm a big fan of horses coming back in grade, and that is exactly what Double Meaning is doing. My selection has been running in Class 3 and 2 races since he started to be very progressive at the back end of last season. He has acquitted himself nicely on every occasion apart from one. He was second in an Ascot Class 3, then fourth in a Class 2 race, and his reappearance run in a Class 3 was a solid effort to finish third. This race has to be deemed as a drop in quality, so if he's going to find his winning form again, now is the time.

It is a bit of a concern that he hasn't won a race on turf, but has three on the all-weather, and he has gone close enough to suggest that he is fine with the grass.
