IT'S TIME to put the win in Wincanton as the Somerset track takes centre stage on ITV for Saturday's jumps racing action.
I have tips covering most of the ITV races which also include three heats from Aintree. It's a mixed bag of quality but I think there are plenty of opportunities to pick up some value.
As is now the norm all of my tips are revealed on the Gambla Racing podcast which comes out on a Friday afternoon on most podcast platforms. Please give us a follow and if you have time to give us a review that would be brilliant too. Have a listen for all of my thoughts on this week's selections:
1.30pm Aintree
The opening race of the day is one to be cagey with and my tentative win selection is CHARMANT who is fit and well and will enjoy the soft ground at Aintree.
1.50pm Wincanton
I think Danse Idol has a very strong chance and is an obvious and worthy favourite but EMPREINTE RECONCE is my each way value selection. She is fit and in form and the conditions should be ideal for her today so 11-1 is too big a price with some firms paying 4 places.
2.05pm Aintree
Another tough race at Aintree to be honest and my selection is DUKE STREET who looks a safe bet to run well given that he is in the form of his life and will enjoy the conditions. He might find an improver too good but with 7-1 now available I think we can go each way to protect our stake.
2.25pm Wincanton
RESERVE TANK is the obvious choice but still looks like value to me at 5-6. I'm going to put him in a double with Fusil Raffles later on the card.
2.4opm Aintree
A case can be made for quite a few of these but DIOMEDE DES MOTTES has a touch of class about him so with soft ground in his favour and a recent run confirming his wellbeing and fitness I am backing him. Not a race to go mad on though in my opinion.
3.00pm Wincanton
FUSIL RAFFLES is the second half of my win double with Reserve Tank from earlier. An absolute class act who should beat the rest of these even if he isn't fully fit. The 4-6 from earlier has dried up but I'm still happy to put him in my double at 4-7 because he should be 1-2 or shorter in my book.
3.35pm Wincanton
I have taken the liberty of picking two in the last race with most firms paying 4 places each way. Both tips come from the Philip Hobbs yard and my main selection is BEAU DU BRIZAIS who did really well last time out over course and distance and looks like a progressive chaser who can improve again with conditions in his favour.
My second choice is the classy ROCK THE KASBAH who will enjoy the underfoot conditions and has the champ Richard Johnson in the saddle. I'm happy to take these two against a competitive field in the big race of the day.
Good luck to everyone and enjoy Saturday's racing.
