The Irish race in which the selection was in yesterday was a bit of a joke. The fact that a 107 rated hurdler managed to win seems a little strange, especially when you have horses rated in the mid 120s and low 130s in the race. I feel like that race fell apart, and the selection didn't run anywhere near the level which was expected. The jockey never looked happy on Chinx Of Light, and was slapping him down the neck from an early stage.

Ludlow 2:00

With the stable form of Venetia Williams' looking like it's finally hitting form for the season, it could be profitable to follow her, as this happens during most seasons. She doesn't send many runners out during the summer, but when she lets rip with her autumn/winter team, they go through a patch where she places her horses in the correct races, and they run very well. So with that being said, I am siding with SUBCONTINENT in this quite trappy Class 3 handicap chase.

This horse seems to enjoy racing at this track, with his two wins over obstacles (only has 3 in 25 runs) has come at this venue. Off his current mark of 117, he is starting to fall onto a dangerous rating where he can win at anytime. He's won off 115 in the past, so is a couple of pounds higher, but the form of the stable suggests her horses are flying at the moment, so I'm taking a chance on him. He was given a little run out as a seasonal opener at Cheltenham over hurdles, where it was clearly a fitness run to blow away the cobwebs, as he went off 125/1. It was unfortunate to see him fall during that race, but thankfully he was fine afterwards. He was running an average race up until that point, but was starting to get tired, which was to be expected. Ideally, he would like the ground to be soft, but good-to-soft with a few mm of expected rain should be fine for him.

This is a decent race, but as a result, Subcontinent gets in at bottom weight and receives at least 7lbs+ from every horse in the race. Venetia has had 3 winners in the last fortnight, with many more placing/running well. She won this race last year, and has a good strike rate at the track (18%).

Musselburgh 1:45

I was filled with enthusiasm of ELIXER‘s last run where he was tried at 3m 3f, which is the furthest he's even raced over. I didn't think he would stay that trip, and ultimately he didn't stay it out as well as the others, but the manner in which he travelled through that race made me believe he definitely does have the potential to win a race (currently 0/30 including PTP).

I think this step back to 2m 6f is the correct decision, as he cruised through that race at Sedgefield, but was found out when the going got tough. To finish 3rd wasn't a bad effort, as the winner was clearly ahead of his mark, as he went on to win the next out, and will have another good chance of following up again. Also, the return to a right-handed track like Musselburgh should be a big help. He has been jumping out to his right at most of his fences for a while now, which definitely isn't a help on a left-handed track, as he gives away unneccesary ground. Due to not winning a race, he runs off a very low handicap rating of 73 (77 today, due to race), which means he will more than likely always be running off bottom weight, like he does again today. Thomas Willmott takes off another handy 5lbs, and I believe if he can run to anywhere near the level of the last two runs, he should be bang there at the finish.

Musselburgh 2:15

A bit of a shot in the dark, but WEATHER FRONT is too well handicapped to be ignored. His most recent run 9 days ago was much better than what we've seen for a long time from this lad, and it looked like he needs a trip. He was off the bridle very early at Doncaster, but he kept to his job and managed to run on to grab 5th place on the line. He was around 15L behind the winner, who was ahead of the handicapper, but the manner in which he stayed on looked like 3m could be what he wants at this point in his career.

He was dropped 2lbs for that recent run, and that now means he is rated 118. He used to rated in the low 130s at one point, and was competitive off those marks as well. He even managed to finish 2nd in a Class 2, and connections felt he was good enough to be tried in a Class 1 Listed race at Cheltenham, where he finished midfield. He has previously ran over 3m in the past, and seem to stay the trip, but was probably in the grips of the handicapper at that point to really deal a blow. If any money arrives for him, that should be a good indicator that we're in for a good run, as that is normally the case with horses from this stable.

I have split a modest amount across all the runners. This is just a bit of fun to try and win us a free bet. With any profit we find a solid single and then IF that wins, we may have a decent sized free EW stake. I do not advise these as tips, merely selections with a chance and only recommend backing as I have, not with any significant amounts, on a normal day EW would be the play.

1.00 Lud – On the Platform 11/2 £2 – trainer won this last year
    1.30 Lud – Marta Des Mottes 12/1 £1 ew – a stable i like
3.00 Lud – Cheer’s Delboy 8/1 £1 – ran OK recently, regular rider back on
3.30 Lud – Charming Getaway 13/2 £1 – trainer done ok recently in bumbers, hopeful of a place

1.35 Mus – Auditoria 5/1 £1 – well up against it but trainer 5-11 here, has 1/1f in the first
2.15 Mus – Kaizer 8/1 £1 – bottom weight another that could place but yolo
2.45 Mus – Off the Beat 9/2 £1 – big fav to overcome, 5/4 for top2 looked interesting but could easily PU too
    5.30 Wol – Madame Glitters 9/2 £1 – represents a dynamite combination

Morning all, my best advice would be to keep your money in your pocket, but I’m sure (like me) you probably won’t.
The only one that caught my eye is Sukat 3.30 Ludlow. Finished last in a listed bumper at Cheltenham on debut but has a good flat pedigree and has had his sights lowered here.
100/1 if you’re feeling brave but I’m thinking more ew extra @ 40s down to 6th. Small stakes advised

One that’s in my ATR tracker that I hardly use but so near missed it but it’s been tipped up so when I looked it up I’ve a note beside it.

    Trixie and a single on..

    Zia Park-R7…Vanna. 11/10(*****. “Won at 7th attempt by 10l very easily,more to come? “
Same jockey and C&D but slightly tougher race but with the manner he won on last run this should be his 2nd win)
    Mohaning-R6…Maliced 5/2(***)
    Remington-R3…Da Pratie Girl. 6/4(****)

darwell lion was 7/2 third fav last night and is now 5/4 with no NRs. since jason watson is a legend even this early in his career and has had great success since teaming up with o’meara fairly recently. no reaosn to back horses at this price but worth mentioning all the same. they have madame glitters in the race after who has been friendless in the market, they’ve had many big priced winners and on balance looks a watching brief now, it’s not a betting race but ruby lile 25s and HERE AT NIGHT 100s will carry loose change.

at 1800, APEX KING 25/1 4 places represent connections who won for us at 9s in the week and the way i operate, allows me to risk, i dont care if how i type upsets a few mugs, rather educate and constantly bang on about strategy etc as i am evidence it works, so let them keep being bitter. this is shorter than he’s used to but hopefully he kicks on home and places, won off this mark just has to overcome two 8/8s from his last two runs, i am also interested in PARRELLEL WORLD 11/1, lucky enough to be on a 12/1 winner form this combo at newcastle this week, doesn’t justify you backing it but he won over CD off 2 higher in January has been dead last on his last few runs however.

in the 1830, lots haven’t tried this trip, reset button was considered but i will chance GOLD STANDARD for AW legend Tony Carroll, he’s 12/1 and a bit more proven. elhafei drifted marketedly overnight, rossa ryan is a name to be cautious off whilst mark johnston’s could easily win this.

in the last MUTABAAHY doesn’t offer much value at 6s, no recent form but this is his course and distance, for AW connections i used to always bang on about. going to overlook today and go for a total punt on YOU’RE COOL, laura pearson ridden this horse to a couple wins and is at the track but no longer has a big a claim, today’s apprentice but’s him over his CD wins and these connections have over the years, landed me a few massssive winners, but is another with lots of duck eggs to overcome.

i don’t mind taking risks and bet only what i care to lose, i realise this site is mainly people wanting to be directed towards winners, but with fair warning i have no issues sharing what i am punting for interesting this evening. i also like to ramble on a bit so anyone here trying to get into racing can pick up random bits of knowledge, good luck lads.

welp a 25/1 2nd and 11/1 winner reclaims all i’ve lost today and is another indicator that you need to have a stake which allows you to follow all bets, as some times we’re taking chances but at the end of the day, we walk away with profit. i’ll keep providing the winners, the haters can keep bashing the heart button, now where did i leave my high horse.

Think I’m out till ‘International Jockeys Championship’ on Wednesday In Hong Kong?

    • myizin 2 years ago

bertie said to lay tio mio. i said well done, i only saw the winning distance on paper, it was a neck, so said i hope it wasn’t too much of a sweat. and that’s that.

anyway, this is a free message board. yet some non-contributors want to try and drag you down, i’m just trying to help.it’s embarrassing really, apparently i think so much of myself and i’m on a high horse… no idea what they’re on about, i am putting in time and effort SELFLESSLY for others to benefit, i gain NOTHING from posting here.

they claim i chase people away on one hand, but try to do the same on the other. the reason anyone the majority of anyone who is any good here leave, is because they probably feel it’s a big waste of time helping others for no reward. imagine if i hid behind a fake username and posted nonsense, i’d have 20 people coming out of the wood work demanding i’m banned and calling me all sorts, a bit crazy really. and it doesn’t help the thread one bit. time people moved on, it only reflects on the sad life they lead.

finally, as i said, i came here over 5 years ago, knowing nothing about racing, i lost following others, and have invested a lot of time to be in this position, my posts are long because the more info the better, if people are offended by that learn to scroll. now i’m trying to give back, people want to try cause a fuss and then most likely blame it on me, it’s bizarre, we are all tiny fish in a very tiny pond.

who knows what their issue is, no one seems capable of having a rational discussion, not that i’ll waste more time going on about it. now on with the studying.

Gary Moore is a pretty obvious starting point at Fontwell. He won the first 3 races on this card last year, he sends 7 here and there’s potential for a small place acca. Pick your own by all means but I will have a lazy £2 on his first 3 which is around 17/2, it’s a meaningless stake with enough potential to justify the risk.

KOTMASK is currently 15/2 in the first, he’s been friendless in the market overnight but is 4th fav and I am hoping fora repeat of last year when the trainer won this. He has NASSALAM in it, who won two of these, they were small fields and he went off at evens and 1/14, so the lack of support isn’t ideal.

If the ground was heavy, then FLAMINGER 11/2 would have been extremely interesting. He won a Class 3 FTO here last season, this is a C4, he is rated 8 below that. I’m sure the horse is versatile enough ground wise, but heavy ground would’ve made him a different proposition altogether. I’d like to think the horse will be fully firing, however the fav has just been pulled out and at 7/2 and on balance I will leave.

it’s hard to justify ignoring Flaminger for a horse who hasn’t won in over 3 years but that’s what I do. WHOSHOTWHO 14/1 represents an owner/trainer/jockey who had a 12/1 winner and a 8/1 2nd yesterday. STD is back on board. There’s little to like about the horse besides his rating, which compared to his best should give him a chance despite no recent form to get too excited about. STD’s rather has a LTO winner in RIZZARDO who still seems fairly treated. BASS and BAILEY have a few here and two at EW prices, not going to risk but they’ve started to send winners out.

I am then jumping on one that’s seen money at UTT, in CAPTAIN MOIRETTE 7/1, I saw it nibbled for connections who aren’t total misfits and the horse is looking well hcapped. When with Sue Smith 2 years ago he was winning a Class 2 off 130 and runs today off 28 lower in C4. The horse a 30 length 5/7 on debut so isn’t without risk. Typically as I’ve finished writing this there’s a NR and he’s now 4/1 and I will now not advise but still £2 on just in case the win only.

Hopefully I have time later and can pick some out at Southell BOL.

    12.50 Whoshotwho 10/1 ew 4 places
    12.20 Kotmask 15/2 ew
