TWO TAFFS (2.28) should go well in an interesting and classy Veterans' Handicap Chase at Leicester.
The gelding has his first outing for Nigel Twiston-Davies after providing some sterling service to the Dan Skelton yard. Two Taffs can go well fresh and a repeat of his second to Clondaw Castle at Warwick in February puts him right in the mix.
Old rival Theinval finished ahead of my selection in the Grand Annual Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in March and they clashed as far back as April 2017, when Two Taffs came out on top at the Scottish Grand National fixture.
Garde La Victoire has been a grand servant to Philip Hobbs and will be sharper for his Hereford third earlier this month, while Sir Ivan made a fine return to action when third to Jacamar at Aintree following 247 days on the sidelines. Throw in Ayr winner Drumconnor Lad, ridden by rising star Kevin Brogan, and this should be a fine spectacle.
At Carlisle, another excellent young rider, Richard Patrick, gets the leg up on METEORITE (12.10), a solid second to The Twisler at Plumpton 27 days ago.

Could well be nothing, but presence felt beat planet nine here by 3+ 1/4 lengths last december , (they finished 2nd and 3rd) after running 2 crap races beforehand.
Presence felt is also 5lb better off today than the above race.
Today they meet again and again presence felt has ran 2 crap races this season but given last December’s outcome the odds are baffling.

Yeah Westwood is a big horse racing fan, remember he won big at Cheltenham in recent years, I think it was 40 odd grand!
Also owns a couple of horses I think Jimba. I know there was massive gamble on one of them at Goodwood few years back, backed in from 22/1 to 8’s. Can’t remember the name, was it HOOF IT?? I might be wrong.
You are right les, it was hoof it. It was a favourite of mine. In 2011 it won a valuable handicap at york, the stewards cup at goodwood carrying 10 stone and was a close third in the haydock sprint cup. I think the horse may have suffered an injury during the next season. It was never quite the same thereafter although it did win a few races.

1210 carlisle – two years ago Aristo Du Plessis was winning a C3 off 132. two starts back he won over CD in these conditions off 117 by 5 lengths. he had a come back run off 120 when 6/14 (CD too). today, he gets the assistance of a 7lbs claimer and will run off 114. he opened at 12/1 and 25/1 for four places is now available, definitely throwaway stakes but trainer is in form too (2 winners yday and a few places recently) so i will chance hoping just for a run for our money and anything else a bonus, not assessed rivals either. obv use ew extra to your advantage, 6 places 12s, 5 palces 16s.
