WITH plenty of rain forecast it should pay to dig out the soft-ground horses and both START TIME (7.30) and MAJESTE (8.05) fall into that category at Thirsk this evening.
Start Time scored twice at the Yorkshire course last August, racing prominently on both occasions. This mile trip stretches him to the limit but with favourite Spiorad, penalised for a Redcar success last week, taking a big chunk out of the market, Start Time is worth betting each-way at around 7-1.
Majeste is a dual winner on soft/heavy so the more rain the merrier. He was reeled in by a hold-up horse at Carlisle last time but rates a knocking ew punt against hat-trick seeker True Romance.
Newbury will get a deluge this afternoon if the forecasts are correct and that is great news for connections of SAFE VOYAGE (3.35). John Quinn's gelding can be backed at 2-1 (general) for TOMORROW'S Hungerford Stakes.

The silk and jockey/trainer combo of SUPERSEDED 3/1 is one that I will always look at, His two wins have come over C&D and he’s only 2lbs higher than his previous win back in June. He beat the reopposing Scale Force by a neck and has a 5lbs pull, although Oisin Murphy has been getting good rides recently and takes over.
I was all set to tip him to win before seeing SHOW ME THE BUBBLY. Not seen on the AW in a hcap (main reason for small stake), this lightly raced horse gets the assistance of a 7lbs claimer for the first time, putting her 4lbs below her debut win and the jockey/trainer teamed up for a winner last night.
A month ago she was 2nd when beating a horse 2nd lto in a 16 runner Class 3. Her LTO form reads well too. Carrying 8lbs more, a half length behind a horse who had won before and since. Back in May, she was 1 length behind SUPERSEDED and now has a 10lbs swing in the weights.

Back in April, although over 2f futher, LITTLE INDIA carried 4lbs more when 2.5l behind Wanaasah, who won by 8 lengths off 69 on Monday. Albeit on her h’cap debut Sapa Inca, who was a neck ahead has form of 3221321 since and won in a Class 3 off 86 at the weekend. The winner also went in again 13lbs higher.
More recently, a month ago she was a length 2nd, the two behind have won a race since whilst the winner had won before this race beating a horse on a hattrick and won since up 5lbs. The jockey will take off a handy 5lbs and was riding 4-8 earlier in the week.
SHREWDNESS was within a length of Bella Vita before winning her next 3 and racing off 91 when 2nd in a Class 1. This probably means this selection carries quite a bit of risk given Shrewdness isn’t even favourite.
