Yesterday saw me finally pick a winner, but not in the style I was hoping for. Darling Du Large did win, but the race fell apart and became a two runner affair, rather than the five runner it looked like. She won well, and I think she would've won even better with more runners, as a strong gallop is what she likes, and she didn't get that today. Either way, a win is a win, and it's nice to get back on the board.

Racing today looks diabolical, so just the one selection from me. I think Colin Tizzard might have found a nice opportunity for NELSONS ROCK to land his first win over rules, in what appears to be a very weak Class 4 (0-115).
You'd have to say that Just A Whim probably deserves to be favourite, so it's a little bit surprising that she isn't, as she is already proven at the trip, when the others aren't. The current favourite at the time of writing is the Paul Nicholls runner, and based on what we've seen from him, I wouldn't touch him with a barge-pole. Obviously, he is being trained by one of the best trainers across both Britain & Ireland, so the fact he's put him straight up in trip from 2m to 3m signals he must need it, but based on his form, he can be swerved, especially at the prices on offer.
The selection makes more appeal to me as he is a previous PTP winner, so clearly stays the distance. He has been raced in some decent novice races, over a various amounts of trip, between 1m 7f – 2m 3f. I think it's interesting that Colin had now opted to put him up to 3m on his handicap debut, off what appears to be a low mark of 96. He races off 10st 7lbs tomorrow, but that is reduced by a further 7lbs as apprentice Harry Kimber takes the ride. Harry was on last time where he ran quite well, in a race won by Knappers Hill, who was a smart bumper horse and was a 1/10F to win.
He has been racing plenty of times of the summer, so should be fit and raring to go in this where a couple of others might need the run, including Just A Whim. Also, the Tizzard yard remain in good form with a 31% SR in the last 14 days.

Frickin Yankee betting at times…race was over 20 mins behind time and while it was losing I was leaving out another that won. Wasn’t backing it till Late Breaking News had ran I thought but I should have just done it? Hopefully luck gets better for rest of the US bets.
