Calidad managed to grab a place at Fontwell, thanks to Bet365 for the extra place they had on offer, even with the NR. The winner smoked the field and Calidad managed to hang on for third. Safe to say I won't be backing him again, he doesn't look great, so money returned is a bonus.
Wincanton 1:30 – Stormy Flight 11/8 (2pt)
I was kicking myself when I left STORMY FLIGHT go untipped last time around, as I thought his run behind Monbeg Genius was a good effort, but I felt the top weight he carried the time after might've caught him out, but I was very wrong. He has to carry top weight again today off a 9lb higher mark, but based on his last two runs, he can defy that rise.
Monbeg Genius has been a revelation over fences this year, looking like a very nice horse. He has an entry for the Ultima at the Cheltenham festival, and will probably be one of the fancied runners for that.
On form, you'd have to say the selection is the one to beat. The Honeyball horse is probably the main threat, but the form of his recent run is a bit of an unknown. The favourite bombed out that day and Windance was an easy winner, but did he beat much? I think it's interesting that one of Honeyball's go-to jockeys, Rex Dingle, has opted for Stormy Flight who he has ridden before, over Windance. I'm fairly certain he would've had the pick of the two, so it gives me confidence that he's gone for Stormy Flight.
The rest of the field needs to bounce back to form, so therefore I think Stormy Flight is a decent bet.
Newcastle 5:15 – Russian Virtue 2/1 (2pt)
It's a rare thing to say when a horse leaves the David Menuisier yard and finds some improvement for the change of scenery, but it definitely worked for RUSSIAN VIRTUE who has managed to win a few times for Rebecca Menzies, on the flat and over the jumps.
He was beaten as a 4/5F last time around, but the setup of the race wasn't great. They didn't go a good gallop and that was 12f, which he's never raced over (on the flat) and I think a return to a shorter trip will bring him back to form.
Oisin Murphy has hit the ground running and is riding like he never had the break from last season. I thought it was a very noticeable jockey booking by Rebecca to get Oisin on this horse, considering he is 5/12 for the yard which had produced a profit of +£36 to £1 stakes, which isn't bad going.

I’m sure he did! The name rings a bell but mostly it won and you tend to remember them more!
Also it started drifting with favourite now 4/7 so I kept it to myself… here’s hoping as it’s best odds.

Took a punt at a price on Frenchy hoping at least I should be waiting on Cairnzys for a double but of course that thought was stupid one.
Frenchy went away quicker than a black and white cat from Peppi Le Pugh. Glad favourite was beat (don’t see anyone on it?) as I was thinking the EVS offered this morning was good value.
Cairnzys tip is now a nailed on,banker 5pt Nap/Nb and Nnb because I’ve zilch to put on it stuck in work .

Think that was Cain Dingle from Emmerdale on Stormy Flight, not Rex Dingle. Sorry if you was on that one guys, should’ve hosed up, but the jockey has chuckled it and got it beat somehow.
Stewards should be looking into a ride like that, but they won’t.
Terrible Rizzle you get past asap if you’re on Stormy Night instead of holding off thinking I’ll cruise by when I feel like it.

DECENT last night with Nap and Nb winning at 10/3 and 11/8 both (****) and Petroka winning late on at 4/1 (**) but well pleased with Nap after such a lay off. Looks a good horsey!
PITY about bad start and pick with the early donkey and other collared last 10 yards being beat into second at 3/1 or it been lovely stuff!
