Racing tips: The hattrick looks on the cards for in form Arthur’s Quay

Yesterday was a day to forget, after what appeared to start off quite well with Datsalrightgino grabbing a place as the first selection.

Easysland never looked to get going. Protektorat was keen early on and ran a flat race and Paisley Park ran a stinker. The French raider was rated 135 before winning at Cheltenham and he won as he pleased, so it's a strange one and hard to weigh up as to whether he was massively overlooked or the race fell apart.

Ben Haslam has done a fantastic job to resurrect ARTHUR'S QUAY, as he does with so many of JP McManus' horses. The last two performances have been extremely impressive, though winning in a lower grade and there's no reason to suggest his progression for his new trainer hasn't stopped yet.

The big weight he has to carry to win this isn't a concern as he has won off 12st 2lbs and 12st 4lbs on his previous two starts. He previously beat Blue Hawaii when they previously met and had to give away a decent chunk of weight that day, and was well ahead of him so I can't see a flip in the form.

This will be his toughest assignment of his last couple races, but based on how he won and travelled smoothly into the race last time around I think he can cope with the added 6lbs given to him by the handicapper.

This will probably be the last time I back DAREBIN if he doesn't run to how I hope.

He has been one of my favourite jumps horses in recent years, he has given me plenty of winners and he has appeared on this thread multiple times, landing some winners for all of us along the way. I put him up last time around at Sandown in a race which was much tougher than today's assignment and he ran well for the most part before losing touch when turning for home. He has been dropped 4 lbs for that run, and today he gets the assistance of a 10lb claimer which makes him extremely dangerous to underestimate off a handicap mark of 85 with the claim taken into consideration.

He is an 11yo now, so his best days are far behind him, but he is on such a good handicap mark and will be running off bottom weight, he surely has a huge chance in this at a track he is very good at. You have some more unexposed horses in this, but if he bounces back to form he could be far too good for these.

The 10lb claimer isn't a concern to me. Gary Moore has had many of similar riders come through his yard before who have become good jockeys like Rhys Clutterbuck on the flat and the Houlihans over the jumps, who won yesterday's Clarence House Grade 1.
